The question I get asked the most often is about the materials I use. If you’ve been watching my videos for a while, you’ll know that the first video I made went over the tools I used most often. I realised it's been over a year since I made that video and a few things have changed since then. Here is my updated tools video which details some of the new tools I’ve been using, and lets you in on the hacks I’ve perfected over the past year and a half. I hope you enjoy!

Watching from Atlanta, I have a few questions if you don't mind! 1. What is your process for shipping large scale originals? Do you build a crate, etc. 2. How many months/years does it take for you to produce enough artwork for a show? As always (without being repetitive) your work is awe-inspiring! Thanks,

Afmat has a rechargeable electric eraser that I prefer. It has two sizes, a one small the size of the Derwent Battery operated eraser and a smaller size. It’s about the size of the tombow eraser. They’re charged with either your laptop or your phone charger. I’m not sure if anyone has said anything about this eraser or not. I use it quite often, although now I use it with my colored pencils. But I still love graphite and oils. But nobody that I’ve ever seen can compare to you. Thank you for sharing your videos with us.

I love that your materials are in proportion. In that an electric rubber will take off a hair or an eyelash ...a sliver of colour ... and a propelling pencil is always pointy enough for fine detail. These things are true only because your work is the size of a small house. :_)) Some of us do small work and to take off a 'sliver' of colour we have to aim just the edge of a new or newly refined eraser and to get the finest line, we have to sharpen. The lesson remains valid, though, in that we all need precision materials that are fitted to both us and the work we're doing.

Hi Jono! I am very inspired by your work, they are amazing! They are encouraged to develop and learn something new. For a long time I dreamed of drawing an eye, as realistic as possible, started looking for references on the Internet, stumbled upon a cool job, it was immediately clear that this was a pencil drawing, not a black and white photograph, which is surprising, there was no signature on that picture. When I started to draw, I got a deja vu, that I saw it somewhere, but it turned out that it was your work. Sorry, please, I hope this does not hurt, but rather encourages you to create even more amazing works, so that people would like to try to repeat your unique creation! With love, your subscriber!

Depending on how much compressed air you use, it could be worth getting an air compressor designed for an air brush. I know a few pencil and charcoal artists use an airbrush to apply a matte medium over finished art work as well. But at the very least, having an air compressor with variable pressure and a few different nozzles could save you money in the long run.
