I do want to say that Death technically isn’t a villian, he is what you would call chaotically neutral as he is really just doing his job and trying to teach Puss a terrifying lesson, Jack Horner is the actual main villian of the story

i'd say Death's role in the story is to be antagonistic force that drives it foward, that surely makes him the main antagonist, but defining him as a villain would depend on the definition you're going by

How I would probably put it as Jack Horner has the more villainous personality, but Death is definitely the main antagonist, while Jack is more of a side antagonist. Kinda like how Goldie and the Bears aren't main antagonists, but still pose as a threat to the main characters most of the story, they are more so rivals then main antagonists.

Idk, he wasn't just trying to be there for Puss's next death. He said himself that he was tired of watching him waste his lives, so he started coming after him on purpose. He tries to kill Puss several times throughout the movie. And not just to teach him a lesson, he didn't care to teach Puss, he wanted to permanently end him. Definitely villain behavior when you're using a personal vendetta to kill someone outside of your job description lol.

Death is voiced by Wagner Moura, a Brazilian actor. He's the guy that played Pablo Scobar in netflix's Narcos. He's 46 yo, so definitely a little more on the fatherly side, but his voice is timeless, honestly. He's such an incredibly talented actor.

Love the Shir-Khan design. The red hair + white beard combo actually is kinda fitting for the region of the world The Jungle Book is set in. Mendi or Henna is a common form of hair dye in places like India and Sri Lanka, which I believe is the Genral location of the movie, and it makes your hair that red-orange color when starting from white. I don't know if this was intentional but i've definitely seen men sporting the white beard, Orange hair combo.

if I designed death as a human personally I would make him a lot bigger and beefier, just bc in most of the scenes he just looks so BIG (esp compared to puss), so that's how I would imagine him. I love your design either way, but those are my thoughts!

hajime!!! i checked out odd taxi after the last time you mentioned it and i found his character in particular really compelling for how realistic it is. most people dont really think about gacha games when it comes to gambling addiction, and the two major losses he experiences in a short time pushing him over the edge, i could totally see happening irl

hey i really like your creative interpretations and art style:) i wanted to say though, because i've noticed in a couple of your videos, that i think you really tend to draw white characters, even when the characters background would suggest strongly that they're of Color, like with shere khan in this one. And often, even when you draw darker skinned people, you tend to draw them with european features. i understand that it's also an art style thing but i haven't seen this commented and i think it would be lovely to see some more representation of non-caucasian looking figures in your art:)

Death isn't a villain, he's an antagonist. He isn't shown to be evil, he's shown to be against what Puss is trying to achieve. Jack Horner is a villain as he's an evil monster, Death is an antagonist because he's work against the hero. All villains can be antagonists but not all antagonists are villains.

Sorry, I’m not trying to give art advice to the artist, so I’ll give a recommendation. Next time you could either “make the beard white fade into his hair as thin streaks” or-? You could make the rim of his open coat white, or even give him something like a white fur scarf/animal, stuffed animal around his neck, since he’s a hunter.
