Dray makes good points. I keep saying it but KD is capped when you cut him from catching the ball below the elbows and when you get physical with him. The movement from Curry Thompson and Green helped this because they kept bodies off him. But he’s just not the player people want him to be. He’s a SCORER. That’s it that’s all. Can be decent in other areas but that’s not him. It’s why when he’s in playmaker role he often gets sloppy and his turnovers go up. Look at his time in BK and PHX.

KD is an above decent defender if you watched him this season and a good playmaker for his size. He is not a 7 foot point guard. He still scores when players are phyiscal. Sometimes he misses sometimes he doesnt.

As a Suns fan, the hyperbole being used is extra frustrating because you could argue that the Suns have actually limited KD's potential and misused him more egregiously than any team has thus far. Monty's .5 system did a much better job of getting KD to his spots, using him in multiple roles with P&R actions, and people even complained about that. Aside from the Vogel (and Kevin Young) discussion, you could make a point that it was an experimental year and nobody on Phoenix felt comfortable offensively, but to say what he said is AND in the same breathe say that Frank Vogel did a great job, that he doesn't think think they need a PG and that they're basically going to run it back is pretty wild. That's the reality aspect. The other aspect is fan perception. I get what James is trying to do; I agree with Dray that he's trying to take some of the pressure off KD, but he's also trying to reassure the fans. Everything that was said Wednesday was about reassuring the fans. It was optimism without any real accountability. And the timing of it, with the Suns having just been swept, reports of KD being unhappy with his utilization AND knowing Suns fans were frustrated with that, as well, it comes off as patronizing and insulting to the fans collective intelligence.

Coming from a KD fan since I was 11 years old (28 years old now) this is all facts from Draymond. Warriors unlocked the best KD I ever watched, the closet thing I’ve seen to Warriors KD is KD with Steve Nash. Only thing that held that team back was kyrie and hardens injuries vs the Bucks. The Duns use KD terribly and he still had his most efficient season ever. There’s ZERO sets ran for KD besides PNR, they just want him to go one on one all game. SMHHH

What made the small ball successful before? is that they are fast and they can rain 3’s at will. And made those bigs obsolete. Now those advantage are gone as all the big men now can shoot, defend well and even shoot 3s too. Its a new era again. Warriors wants another ring? they need a legitimate center who can defend and can score on his own, not just another support player who can be used as pick and roll. Too much reliance on Steph is hurting the team. We all have to agree his shooting percentage has dropped, and inconsistency makes it worse. We need all the offensive help we can get.

The fact that he hasn't developed a go post series or at least a go to post move bothers me. To be undersized and not see the urgency in developing these things bothers me. To be as smart as Draymond is tells me it's not a know how thing. It's either effort in developing or he has peaked, which is an even bigger flag. Either way Draymond is the biggest reason the window is closing. If we are to keep Draymond, we need a Dwight type to help him down low because Draymond is no longer elites enough to be the defensive anchor by himself. His small ball days are over.

If AD would have had some of that leadership (because everyone is expecting him to be the face of the Lakers) most probably Lakers would have had a chance for another ring. Just my opinion
