As a fan of the warriors and klay, I didn’t see him smiling too much last season, hopefully he can find that joy for the game in Dallas
@jimcroce6204 ай бұрын
Hopefully. But Klay changing teams to find that joy is just like changing restrooms when you're having a diarrhea. It doesn't solve the problem because the problem is not the restroom, but the diarrhea. Klay's problem is not the Warriors but the fact that he can't accept he's not the same player anymore. If you watched his past press conferences, he did reflect a lot about being thankful of the rings he won and accepting his new role in the team. But he never accepted that role (obviously hence his departure) and those press conferences sounded like him convincing himself of the new reality more than stating his realizations. I wish him the best, but if Klay doesn't change his perspective in this, I doubt he'll be happier in Dallas. There's no other team who would cater to his strengths and make plays for him more than Golden State. It's reasonable not to expect Dallas to facilitate offense for him when they already have two guys who can are certified buckets in Luka and Kyrie.
@Lebronat404 ай бұрын
he will trust me lol. he will find the joy in getting way more open catch and shoot opportunities....with luka and kyrie being as ball dominant as they are, he is going to average 20 this season, guaranteed

@@jimcroce620It worked for Kyrie, after going through a lot of unfortunate situations. Kyrie has even involved into leader.
@angelsaint-hilaire43724 ай бұрын
@@jimcroce620you just described why he will be happier in Dallas. Klay struggled because he had to be the 2nd best scorer and facilitator next to Klay and he unfortunately isn’t that anymore. He was trying way too hard in GS. In Dallas, he doesn’t need to be that. He can fit in and be 3rd guy next to Luka and Kyrie and he doesn’t need to worry about facilitating. Plus, look at what’s happened with Kyrie and how he was in Boston and BK before joining the Mavs. He’s now the happiest he’s ever been.

This was emotional to watch. I just want to say thank you Klay + Dray + Steph for all the memories. Like you said, you guys will always be mentioned together, and as a fan, I find peace in knowing that will always continue. Life long memories for sure and I will always remember the highs & lows.. from the first playoffs series you guys were in... to those first wins.. to building up the dynasty.. to falling short and back up again. It's all so bittersweet at this very moment but I am glad there are so so many fond memories to look back on. Love you guys - HALL OF FAMERS! Can't wait to witness the jerseys retirement and statues together one day down the road.

"It hits close to home. In a sense, it disrupts home." That is so true Dray. Steph's IG story tribute to Klay was the final trigger for me - full on waterworks. I never thought I'd see the day that I'd have to say goodbye to the legendary trio as we know it. As a Dubs fan, I selfishly thought that we'd all see you retire together like a fairytale, storybook ending. I am beyond grateful for all the memories and joy that you, Klay, and Steph have brought us. You guys are tied together forever and your legacy as a trio, a dynasty, will never be forgotten. I don't think it'll truly sink in until we see Klay in a different uniform once the season starts, and the first game with Mavs vs. Warriors is gonna be an emotional one. Thanks for sharing this on the pod Dray, appreciate your candidness. I cried as you talked about the memories and Klay's departure. Warriors for life 💛💙

As a coach, I saw the same all season. WE ALL COULD (Warriors fans). Klay lost his joy and the media really made it worse. I've experience an ACL & Achilles tear in the same leg. It's mentally grueling. The process, the recovery, the restrictions. For Klay, you add the media reactions and then come back to find your role eventually being reduced ON TOP OF not being a financial priority (in the moment) for the organization you've sacrificed so much for....a sacrifice that actually caused a major injury. Did they pay him for that? Absolutely. The max deal while injured. But not having something for Klay before last season started...I knew then Klay was gone. What Klay needed in that moment of life, they didn't give him.

In my opinion, I knew he was unhappy just by watching Klay. But I also think a big part of his unhappiness was from him getting benched, and then not starting in the lineup. There was a report that if he came back to Warriors, he would come off the bench. A guy like Klay most likely didn't want to come off the bench. It's either that or he just wanted to leave. I may be wrong, but this is my guess.
@sueprator93144 ай бұрын
I dont think it was that. Klay even begrudgingly said ok to coming off the bench. I think it was Poole and Wiggins getting their deals before him. Some of this is Klay's own personal LIFE GROWTH. I loved Klay before the injuries but he came back resentful and frankly a grumpy old man and he never snapped out of it. Sometimes we humans FIGHT CHANGING OR GROWING. This will be good for him no matter how we wish they would stay together. ITS TIME FOR HIM TO GROW as person. We will always love KLAY.......who knows what is waiting for him in Dallas - in a good way!

I feel your pain in this dray. Literally. My daughters mom and I went our separate ways this last week, and everything you said was 100% relatable. Keep your head up brother. It’s only a game and it’s just one team amongst many within said game. More to life 🙏🏽

You as well bro, im sorry it didnt work out between you and your daughter’s mom, but keep going my brother 🙏🏽

Word. Like Dray said in the video tho, sometimes going seperate ways are a good thing. It sucks and it’s hard to look at it like that, but sometimes that’s just what it is.

Man I been sad for almost a week since it happened but you make a great point man, so many great memories to fall back on, seeing him frustrate the last two years has hurt us all bro. I wish him the best and I thank him and all for building some of my favorite sports memories. All love to Klay and all love to Dray, Steph and the boys forever. We don't need to build sad memories of Klay nothing fun out there, I'd rather remember all the records' amazing playoff series for over a decade and the all the funny ass Klayisms lol. Go Dubs

Thankful for your weekly perspective, Draymond. I been down with y’all for 10 years-watched faithfully with my children who grew up with y’all. I am so grateful for all the beautiful spring seasons we’ve had with you all. I love your commitment to be transparent…I am always taking up for you. Tonight, this segment has been raw, painful, truthful…and so respectful of Clay. We love Clay-he will always be a Warrior…a fierce man of battle. Thank you all for some of the fiercest competition of my life. Forever grateful for the losses and the wins. Be strong-as you often are. Much love…from LR, AR.

It’s interesting to hear that you don’t view yourself in the same category as Steph and Klay. You are every bit as essential, remarkable, and irreplaceable as those two guys. The 3 of you were pure magic, and nothing that was achieved would have happened without the formula of you guys being together under Coach Kerr. You are all LOYAL, thoughtful, generous, and uniquely gifted. ❤ I will miss seeing you all playing together, but we, as fans, are blessed to have watched you guys dominate for the last decade plus. Much love and gratitude to you, Steph, Dray, and Klay.

If Klay never had those serious injuries he would probably still be here. At 34 you still have “it” but not if you’re coming off a torn acl and Achilles. Klay just doesn’t have the athleticism anymore. I think a change of scenery is best for him. Hopefully he finds joy again in hooping. All the best Klay!
@DmadPs4 ай бұрын
That's is partially true, but it was mental as well, to go from one of the best players to a above average player takes a mental toll that not many people can handle, specially failing on live television. He still has something to give if his mind is on the right place.
@steveellsworth11094 ай бұрын
I disagree. Klay still a beast. People forget how bad we were those 2 years he gone. We never lose. Even this last year we were a very good team much better than are record showed. That with them doing Klay bad but once he got his head straight after he accepted the role warriors were one best record in the nba.

@@steveellsworth1109 the warriors weren’t a good team this past season, that’s why they didn’t make the playoffs. I don’t think they were a bad team, just a little below average. Steph had a mvp caliber season individually but nobody will talk about it cause they missed the playoffs, good teams don’t miss the playoffs..

Dray, I have never met any of you, but in the spirit I feel like I do know you & the love that exists between you all; I have always said many of the things about you three that you reiterated today. I have cried a river . I know you all will remain as brothers, comrades, soldiers! I am an empath & as such I identify with all the emotion that one feels when they are betrayed or devalued! I am so mad at the front office for not giving him what he truly deserves! I understand everything you have shared! You may not ever even see these comments, but I pray for the three of you; you are my guys; Warriors for life. I live in Dallas, so the only upside is that I don’t have to take a flight to see Klay play! I will continue to support each of you, cause you are my guys! I pray God’s richest blessings on each of you! My heart is hurting for Steph because I see them as two sides of one coin! I know my God is great enough to keep all of you in perfect peace! I hope we will still get to see the three of you retire together! Warriors fan ( Warrior Mom of the trio). Love you all!!!❤

I want to start out by saying Steph | Klay | Draymond changed the game that's a fact. They did the tough tough job of what the many NBA Players wished they could get done. Unfortunately the last 2 | 2 1/2 - 3 Years was extremely hard on the whole organization & it was just time for Klay to take that step back & redo his life & what his career means to him now. It is hard to think this was all done w/spite between Klay | Warriors Management/Ownership. I cannot wait for the Klay Thompson Chase CNTR Return & the Standing Ovation that will be done!!.
