The amount of space Andrew gets with Steph and Klay on the floor has allowed him to really shine. You can see it on how he moves off the ball. Lets not take for granted the stability that the warriors have. The GM's to the owners to the coaching staff... the core is very much invested and all in on their players. Good for him!

When this man's team used to get their asses whooped regularly, Wiggins didn't cry or bitch and moan, he remained consistent. When people called him a bust & made memes about him & KAT after Jimmy Buckets left, Wiggins remained professional & still consistent. If you say consistency and Wiggins in the same sentence, it’s pretty obvious you’ve never watched Andrew Wiggins in your life. I mean this dude wasn’t even on the floor closing games vs Memphis in the second round cuz he was playing that badly. Then was key in a matchup against the clerics. He may not have completely played up to his potential, but by no stretch of the imagination should he have ever been considered a damn "bust". He was averaging 22ppg before he was traded to GS. And in several seasons prior he averaged over 20ppg; almost 25ppg in one of those seasons. He fell victim to a bad culture and BS media narratives. Yeah, nobody wants to blame the coach or organization, but Wiggins was not the reason the T-Wolves went from 11th in defense before he was drafted to 30th in defense his rookie year, that was the coach. Wiggins was not the reason the T-Wolves were 28th, 27th, and 27th the following years either, that was the coach. That those coaches made a man who is clearly at least a first team all NBA level defender look like he was a really bad defender should tell everyone just how incredibly bad they were at their jobs.

I love player empowerment just for this reason. You may be one of the best prospects in the world, having all the tools to succeed but if your situation is bad you will never realise your true potential. As a Miami Heat fan I cannot tell you how many good players we've had that were considered busts by other teams or went undrafted. Teams like the Warriors, Spurs and Raptors are just like that as well. GP2 was passed around like a blunt and now he's got Steph Curry begging the front office to keep him, that's how good the dubs are . Wiggins is not Jordan but was treated as if he was by a failing franchise that desperately needed a superstar. The Warriors made him focus on developing his game and didn't put him under the pressure of being a number 1 option. He's now a great shooter, great defender and insane slasher. He even made the all star team, and IMO he could be a perennial all-star for the foreseeable future.

As a Twolves fan since the early 2000s, tell me something that I don't know haha! I completely agree. The mere act of KG's refusal to have his jersey retired serves as a "stamp of approval" that the organization doesn't deserve to be celebrated and is to blame for all its shortcomings: 1. They had KG for all of his prime years and only reached the WCF once in 03-04. Tbf tho, the WC was kinda stacked, w/c is also proof of KG's greatness but he still needed help in Spree and Sam. Right after he left, he won a chip. 2. They kad KLove and Rubio, both of championship pedigree, but have no winning season to show for during their time together in Minnesota. 3. They had Wiggins and KAT, plus LaVine, Jimmy Butler, and Drose, but only made the playoffs once as an 8th seed. 4. And just recently, KAT, DLo, and Ant choking in the playoffs against the Grizzlies, again as an 8th seed. If anything, there is hope for the current roster. But until Glen Taylor is completely out of the picture, I have no expectations and am always ready for disappointment haha!

Wiggins came into the Wolves being the first option and the number 1 guy expected to lead the wolves. He didn’t deliver in that standard, but going to GSW, he wasn’t expected to lead the team, he was more of a role player. He had Steph, Klay, and Green who were leading the team and he just had to play his part, and he played it exceptionally, when Steph was hurt that season, Wiggins couldn’t deliver also but no one was really upset because his role going to the warriors was never to be the number one option to lead the warriors to the championship.

What's so inspirational? Honest question. The dude was a #1 overall pick. He always had the tool to be a really good 2 way player. He is a quiet kid and the expectations of being the #1 was to high for him. He finally joined a team where he can just focus on basketball. Win or lose, no one would blame him. Some people excel in just being part of the pack, than being the pack leader. This version on Wiggins isn't surprising. He is playing with more confidence since he isn't playing with pressure. Steph is the offensive anchor and Green is the defensive anchor, iggy provides vet leadership. Wiggins brought the same skills he has always had to a team that needed it, he just isn't pressure into being a great player as the Wolves wanted him to be.

Not that Wiggins has not improved since his rookie year, but it was mostly just putting him in a sound defensive and offensive scheme that made the difference, the Warriors did not "develop" Wiggins. Coaches and organizations that suck and cannot understand how to use players have no idea how to develop new players, and there are many out there. Draymond without Kerr would probably have been a role player on a team that never won a championship and out of the league years ago. Draymond was coming off the bench for Mark Jackson, and the idea of playing him at the five would have never occurred to any coach other than Kerr in a million years. Kerr did not "develop" Draymond, he just knew what he was and how he could be used well. There are many players like Poole who need to be developed, there are others who just need someone who understands their gifts and what they can bring to the court.

Only had one big game where he got his and every other game he was just chucking for 3FG%. Its cute but it doesn't win playoff series especially vs a scrappy Grizz team that had one guy who wasn't afraid to attack the basket to help close out games as the series went on.

I think people often easily forget that these are literally just kids coming into the league. I don't think anyone truly even begins their journey into what most would consider "maturity," until their mid-late twenties. Until then, it's imperative to have the right leadership and mentorship around you to guide and steer you in the right way, as those make a profound impact on how one shapes out to be later on. We wouldn't expect the 18, 19, 20 year-old kid working at McDonald's, Macy's or wherever to think and behave on the same level that we would. It would only be fair for us as fans to remind ourselves that when it comes to these kids becoming pro-athletes that they're not all that different from them.

I think people forget how much an organization/fit matters as well for these guys. Some of these talents aren't just easily fit-in solutions and they provide everything else. Look at Iguodala who in the last decade was one of the Warriors most important pieces in their championship run. Former one time all-star with the Sixers who got about 20ppg and he's always been great on defense. But not until his Nuggets stint did people realize he's a playmaking option. And not until Kerr took the Warriors job did he slot into his best role yet coming off the bench in a Ginobilli like role. Where his defense and playmaking option played him in one of the best small lineups in recent years because of his versatility. Also bad teams unless they have a legit goal will stay being feeder systems that feed these talents to teams with better structure where they can find their success with them.

That year he and GM Dave Twardzik selected Todd Fuller (who?) ahead of Kobe Bryant, Steve Nash, Peja Stojakovic, and Jermaine O'Neal in the draft. Insanity. It's all about coaching and flexibility. Can you imagine the wolves with LaVine, Wiggins, Towns and Rubio. They were young, inexperienced. They were learning how to win, but they were not quiet there yet. But the wolves had a coach who wanted to win now. Who wasn't flexible enough to help each of them to develope their game further. If they had good coaching and had been kept together. They would be contending for the title every year. Wiggins play regressed after Rubio was traded, and it rather amazes me, just how detrimental to Wiggins play, that trade was.

Part of the issue is that these young guys get drafted to rubbish teams, teams who are rubbish because of bad structures with their sole mission in the draft to try and get a guy like Shaq who will turn your team from rubbish to gold, almost overnight. The reality is that players like that are generational and the chances of getting one of those type of players is remote, Wiggins was clearly never that guy but he excels at being the 3rd guy on a team with a good culture and systems. Key to any player’s success is - a group of players who play to make teammates better! Look around in NBA, is there another team that has that kind of players? For a team to work together for ONE GOAL, everyone in the team from top management to the person cleaning the floor has to be respectful to others. Warriors has that kind of organization. Yes, every team wants to win but to respect each other? Not many team has that chemistry and willingness to do that. That’s the difference between the Warriors and the rest of NBA. Trading Ingram with Wiggins was a clear example of it. Ingram does not have the same kind of personality as Wiggins. Warriors will have a couple more championships with the splash brothers and Poole party, of course Wiggs!

If anything blame the Wolves for building him up as a foundation talent when he's not that. He's not a consistent primary option which he was tasked to be with the Wolves (yet people can only say about his 'flashes' of games that he has where he legit is Maple Leaf Jordan). Hell even with the Butler era he was taking more touches than Jimmy and KAT who were fine for the secondary roles they excel at. Wolves org aren't great at talent evaluation/acquisition so they lit it be until they could finally move on from Wiggins (with a caveat of course). Wiggins with the Warriors shows that he is playing at his best with minimal expectations out of him behind legit studs in a top 10 player in Steph, a top 30 player in Klay (when healthy) and a coach/defensive scheme that is proven. So yes a better org solves the identity crisis in terms of where the player can fit with the current structure.

It takes an organization to win an NBA championship which is why the GOAT player should not be considered on championships alone. The judging of players legacies based on championships has led to players to taking control of matters by moving via demanding trades or testing free agency when contract term ends. Wiggins was traded to an organization that knows how to get the job done. I'm happy for him. Timberwolves at one time had 3 number 1 draft picks and Butler. I remember thinking they were about 3 years away from being contenders. The organization somehow messed it up.

Unstable organizations ruin the progress of NBA players. The group I see as ineffective at the moment are the Kings, Magic, 76ers, Knicks, and the Cavaliers. This does not mean those teams are good or bad. I mean they are lousy at training, providing learning on court experience, and maintaining player health. They are not taking those aspects of player development as seriously as other teams or if you want to be more specific, they do not have as much competence in that area
