This was so incredibly helpful. My dad was excellent at repairing absolutely anything but he passed away in October of last year and my sister and I are trying to repair the Ranger for my mom. It keeps shutting off and we hope we have the problem narrowed down to the fuel pump. Again, thank you for such clear instructions.

6/2021. My 2019 Polaris Ranger 570 Full Size was idling fine as I was topping off some livestock water. My Ranger NEVER had any idle issues, NONE. Then, all of a sudden it just sputtered out and died. I'm in Florida and our dry season is INCREDIBLY DUSTY. I pulled the fuel pump and the filter looked like a used tea bag. Watched this video and just ordered new filters and the pump kit off eBay. Replaced spark plug and air filters as well. Just under $100 in materials and about two hours of labor and clean up. The Ranger is back up and running, ready for farm chores again. Thank you so much for this video. Saved a ton of cash and A LOT LESS WALKING. If your machine is running well then just dies and you've never replace the fuel filter, this is most likely the issue. Adding fuel filter change once per year to yearly maintenance list now. New fuel pump and filter kit. Less than $30 on eBay and you're good to go!

I used your video a few years ago to service the fuel pump on my 2009 Ranger 700XP. It's time to do it again. And, fortunately, I found your video again. Hands down, one of the very best instructional videos I have ever watched. BTW, bought my Ranger new in 2009 and it has over 12000 miles on it. I wore all 42 suspension bushings down to bare metal and replaced them all last winter. Thank you for your help!

This video saved me big bucks! Just changed the fuel pump on a 2015 Polaris RZR 900S for $27.00. I did have to buy a tool to remove the ring on the fuel tank that holds the pump housing in place because it was super tight and the RZR doesn't provide much room to get your hands around it. This is a very professional video by a guy who really knows his stuff! Thank you!

D-Ray, I swamped (really swamped!!!) my 18 Ranger 900 XP like a knucklehead (not snorkeled) and spent a week wrenching, draining, and praying I could revive her. I got her started, no hydrolock and no knocks or smoke. I wiped the sweat away but my last obstacle was the damage from water and mud in the fuel tank. I pert near mashed the buy button on a whole new fuel assembly ($289) when my boy showed me your video. Convinced this will solve the mess. Great video bubba, thanks!

I can see how popular this method will be for guys searching for an answer to a similar issue like this and trying not to get gouged for 700.00. Wouldn't be suprised if some unscrupulous shop used this method but charge guys 400 or 500 bucks to fix the issue but use a kit similar to this. That's one thing I like about you and yor videos DRay your honest and your work is done right the first time, and your not out to take a fella and his wallet for a ride, no wonder your so busy at your shop

Thanks for this video! I just bought a 2019 Polaris XP 900 Crew. It just has 3000 miles on the OD. But it started cutting out and stopping. You could wait a few min and it would crank and run for a little while. I told my wife when it started it was acting like a fuel filter issue. So O did some checking and came across your Vid. It helped a lot, but I can say this all Kits are not created equal and all year pump assy's are not the same. I had to disassemble my pump assembly a little farther because the fuel sender assembly was a little different and I had to pull the top and the 2 sliding rods out to remove it before I could pull the to pump halves apart which ment I had to remove the fuel hose but guess what they gave me another in the kit, but superman could not have got that hose to fit over the nipples. so I had to go buy a piece of fuel line which as you know is tricky because a rubber hose does not replicate a plastic accordion hose so you have to get the length just right for the spring tension of the pump. But hey it worked. Thanks for the video.
@919jbird2 жыл бұрын
I had to pull on plastic part where the two rods go through, it is a tight fit with the hose being max'd out to the limit, but it came off. I was reluctant at first to try it, but that option looked better than replacing the hose, and it worked. Just go slow with the process. 2020 Ranger 570

On my 2012 RZR 900 xp4 I had a no start issue. Pulled the line going to the injectors and there was very little fuel flow coming out when cycling the key on and off. So I proceeded to pull the fuel pump from the tank to change it and noticed that the little hard plastic fuel line that runs from the pump up to the white plastic mounting flange was cracked nearly in half in one spot. Removed it using a razor knife and replaced with some submersible rubber fuel line and the RZR is back to running like new.

Hi Ray, I'm George from Buenos Aires. I congratulate you for the good quality in the detailed explanation of the assembly and disassembly of the supply spider. I have seen him looking for some KEY to solve a current problem with my ATV Can Am 800: in the middle of the day, hot, on steep roads and with little ventilation around the trail, the vehicle begins to fail and stops. I must replenish fresh fuel to resume. And then again it stops. You may have some clue in mind as to what may be causing this abnormality. Thank you and receive my greeting.

After viewing your video a year ago, I replaced my fuel pump. It worked perfectly until one day I noticed the ring was loose, so I tightened it. --> After doing that, sadly my Ranger would start up but run only a few minutes before sputtering off. I might have tightened it back in a slightly rotated position, so I corrected that, but with no result. I've attempted to rotate the pump slightly, took it out and reseated it, but now I don't even hear the pump momentarily running during the initial power up. I'm guessing the pump maybe has once again failed. The fuel level registers ok. I failed to wipe out the inside of my fuel pump like your video recommended, so it's possible some bits plugged up the pump. 😞

Use this: Orion Motor Tech Master Fuel Injection Pressure Tester on Amazon, it has the fittings that you can pressure test your pump. It's got that plastic end, plus the gauge has the release valve. I just tested mine. Seems like it would get up to 55 psi then slowly seep back down to 45 psi, but when it was running it would be over 50 psi and the indicator would swing wildly.

Excellent video mate ,I've got a 2007 sportsman EFI which was giving me problems starting but now wont start at all , when I turn the key on the HOT / ENGINE CHECK flashes and it wont crank but the fuel pump contiuosly runs and wont shut off . .I've removed the fuel line from the inlet side of the filter to see if I was getting fuel and every time I switched the key ON fuel would flow for 2 seconds then stop but the pump was still making noise as if it was still on . I then connect the fuel line back on the filter and turned the key On & OFF a few times , then I disconnected the fuel line from the injector fuel rail and fuel pissed out . I'm not sure if I have a pump issue or a injector issue , the fact that the fuel pump keeps running but the flow stops is doing my head in . Do you think I could have a stuck open injector .
