Nick is a REALLY unusual guy, with a lot of clear emotional & psychological scar tissue that’s really quite difficult to see, especially in a direct interview structure, as you can see how difficult it is for him to communicate properly what he’s thinking. With that, it seems this guy has stumbled across the best way to interview him, which is keep him pre-occupied, while in a less direct interview structure. I’d love to read his biography, if someone was able to figure out how to get his story out of him, it would have a LOT interesting insight.

Does anyone else notice that when he was just in front of the camera he's awkward but as soon as they start working on him and he gets some sort of discomfort his speech becomes smoother and he can chain his thoughts together better? Like he's fighting because it helps clear up his mind and he feels more comfortable when hes uncomfortable.

@bikibaws Жыл бұрын
@@tommandich4648 that's cool to know. I didn't mean Chi was a fighter in my comment. I meant Nick is my favorite fighter and Chi my influence (tbh the guy I tried to copy as a teen) in playing bass. I knew Nick was a deftones fan and that they're both NorCal guys but it is cool to find out from this video that they actually hung out since way back. I noticed only family and friends call Chi 'Dai' hence the goosebumps finding out that two of my heroes from completely different fields were actually friends. sorry for the text wall, cheers!

You know, from how the Diaz brothers have always been portrayed, i had always pictured them as somewhat uneducated who were just very good at fighting and had street smarts. This really changed my perspective. Nick is very well spoken and likeable. Another lesson learned for me on not to judge a book by its cover. I wish him success in his future endeavors outside of fighting and hope he enjoys retirement, good Lord knows that he's earned it.
