I really enjoyed this SCP, but it does feel more like a horrific and mundane parasite than a SCP. It's very believable, and nothing it does seems to be outside of what would be theoretically possible. The SCP foundation would be better of going public with this one (through 3rd parties) to deal with it, and declassify it as an anomaly.

I feel like the SCP foundation made a huge mistake by not recruiting this dr instead of wiping her memory. She not only discovered this SCP she kept the patients with it unaware of what was going on as she got the parasites out of them. She would have been a valuable asset even if she stayed at her clinic and the data collected went to the SCP foundation.

She might be a bit too kind hearted. Their credo is “Cold not cruel” and she certainly is “not cruel” but I think her capacity to be cold even when facing cursed children, doomed researchers and even a countless number of people that are subjected to the threat of examination, torture, and gruesome death regularly might be questionable.

Things aren't only classified as SCPs because of how "anomalous oo magic" they are, their classification is also dependant on the threat level, size, number of instances... etc. I've read an SCP once where it was theorized to be anomalous but could potentially not be anomalous, yet is still classified as an SCP because of the possibility that it could be anomalous and/or its threat to society. Can't think of the number as of writing this though. There's also one fairly more known and classic SCP that is just a radio wave that gets transmitted through unknown means at a certain frequency, that's not too anomalous either.
@tezla1530
@tezla1530 Жыл бұрын
If it wasn't classified as an SCP there would be no safety precautions against it and the local public would deal with it, eventually discovering that it is anomalous, that wouldn't be so nice.

Lookout in humans: 1)The stunged vessels burst from inside with toxic pathogens. 2)Worming eyes of decadent glances that seek to catch the birds' attention. 3)Toxic paralyzing fungus from infested spores using diffusal, emission of release after the gradual or sudden decaying of the vessel. 4)Tongue acquatic louse that makes the speech incoherent or depraved(hold off your tongues and treat tongue with spices). 5)Worm larvae that infects the bloodstream and flux by decayed-filled intoxicated bites. 6)Guinea worms from infested waters that seek to consume nutrients and then to reproduce outside after taking parts of internal biology. Those things are affecting people in subtle ways in the spiritual realm.

At least the poor sap was smart enough not to drive but I agree with themightypotatodevourer: the SCP Foundation should've hired this lady for handling the critters so well and it's nice that this SCP encounter didn't end in death like some often do

Small correction: in the original article, a 10 kilometer radius was to be cordoned off, while the video says 10 meters, but given how everything else in the story is genuinely unsettling and overall top-notch work, I think we can let it slide.

Dr. Bob: "while the fish is none the wiser.." Me: I know it's said that some of most fish don't have feelings or maybe a reduced capacity to feel pain when compared to say a mammal or whatever, but I'd still have to disagree. I think the fish is well aware that it's tongue was eating and replaced by a parasite, but at that point it needs the dang thing in order to swallow food properly and survive so what is it gonna do? Also it doesn't have digits to pull the thing out. Maybe a weird or insignificant thing to focus on but it just stood out to me. Idk? That's my two cents. Great video!

0:12 this is actually a real thing. The bird only eats the worm and leaves the snail be so it’s not as parasitic as maybe the kharaa bacteria from subnautica but it’s probably painful

To natural selection players, I’m not talking about the kharaa creatures. (I don’t play the game but am a subnautica fanatic so I hear about the kharaa creatures and the disease in subnautica.) also yes alterra also exists in both franchises.
