If you have good diet and good skin (genetics, skincare, etc) then your skin will snap back; no face lift needed. Also, the speed of weight loss can affect that. I have lost 40 pounds doing keto/ IF and my skin snapped back, my abdomen and face. I had stretch marks and creoiness, both of which drastically improved. You would think that with weight loss the crepiness would worsen, but not with doing keto.

This falls firmly under the category of "I wish I had known this when I was younger." Knowing this information could have saved me SO many doctors visits and health problems. Just one important thing to point out : insulin resistant people can sometimes be quite slender when young, but then suddenly gain a lot of weight in their 30's and 40's. This was my scenario, and it took me years to understand that I'm prediabetic - even though I've never had a problem with my blood glucose in my life. Interestingly, when I asked doctors about my uncontrollable weight gain they all immediately measured my blood glucose and pronounced that diabetes wasn't the problem. Not one of them measured my insulin levels.

Grinding teeth are the body's innate response to the need to recycle minerals (not exclusive...so is biting, chewing, eating fingernails). When I learned this, and did things to increase mineral bioavailability from meals. I've been studying health, nutrition, and diets for over 20 years, and I started with the Weston A. Price Foundation. We are a family of 5 and my 3 children were grinding their teeth so much that they would wake me from their bedrooms that were down the hall from mine! Within 2 days of serving and eating the exact meal that Dr. Price prescribed in one of his experiments, cod liver oil, high vitamin butter oil and grass fed organic raw butter, 4 ounces of fresh squeezed orange juice (or tomato juice), fish broth/seafood chowder, and raw grass fed milk .... within 2 days of eating this meal...ALL 3 of my children stopped grinding their teeth, my husband's tooth stopped hurting, and my migraines from clenching just vanished! My children had 6 cavities between them... I postponed their appoinments for fillings and kept the W.A.P. meal up daily for 60 days... we then went to the dentist and.... Not one cavity was to be found. I kid you not. I'm not saying you have cavities... I'm just pointing out... grinding is a means of recycling minerals... because either there is not enough being takin in, or not enough is being absorbed.

Doc, amazing video. Thanks for sharing. One thing to remind people is that if they supplement with with vitamin D, it's critical that they have enough magnesium. High doses of vitamin D will deplete magnesium and can be very bad if you don't have enough magnesium. You do talk about magnesium, but you may want to mention the close relationship between high vitamin D and low magnesium.

I am just lapping up all your content. I started your online class this weekend. My numbers are very high but I am measuring blood glucose and ketones right now about 4-5 times/day as I am learning how the foods I’m eating (under 20 total carbs and using Cronometer to track)! affect my numbers. It’s fascinating. My best Dr. Boz ratio was this afternoon - still high (107), taken 3 hours after eating a big breakfast of eggs n bacon and avocado! I am not at all a breakfast/morning eater but I’m moving my feeding window to early. My lunch was at 3pm. I can’t wait to reverse this insulin resistance that I know now I have had for many years. Mine started from a particularly stressful point in my life and honestly my general stress has just been too dang high and I gotta fix that. This episode tonight was especially interesting and thanks for sharing the pics. I’m all puffy too and my gawd my thumb print on my shin!!! I always thought I have just gotten fat (50lbs would have me back at the weight I was in my 20s/30s and early 40s. I’m mid fifties now. I am very excited to be learning all of the info you share. Thank you. Knowledge is power. ⚡️

Dr Boz, I want to tell you about Cod Fish livers, packed with even more nutrients than Sardines, and much tastier than Sardines. The livers taste like Tuna, the oil it comes packed in is it’s own oil, and is loaded with omega 3 fats, vitamins, A, D, E, potassium. We always hear about salmon, mackerel, herring and sardines for their fats but none compare to the actual Cod fish livers. You eat the liver chunks, drink the oils and you can eat it alone, spread it on crackers, toast, mix it with mayonnaise, mustard, make a tuna like sandwich spread and eat it that way! Better tasting than sardines.

Congratulations Dr. Annette, your enthusiasm led me to quickly apply the sardine diet. I've been practicing the keto diet for just two weeks, but not perfectly, and I'm already feeling the positive effects. For several years I have been consuming San Pellegrino mineral water, it is really very good, especially during physical exertion and intermittent fasting. The feeling of satiety really increased my resistance to hunger and with only two meals a day I don't feel weak. But the most important result was when I looked at the scale. I don't even need to measure my ketones anymore because I feel the benefits.

I have been doing so well for the past 3-4 weeks. I stopped taking my insulin injection & my BS was steadily lowering. I had readings of 75 without insulin shots!!. But this week my numbers are BS numbers are higher, despite low carb intake. AHA!! The culprit is found! I’m going through a lot of stress with my work load for a week now. I should be caught up by the end of the month. I haven’t been going on my walks because I work from home and there’s a deadline I need to meet. THIS MUST BE THE REASON- now I see it. I’ve sent an email to the higher ups, stressing to them this is the last time they’ll bombard me with this workload and I’m not going to go over & beyond, just because their lack of organization. My health needs to be first! I’m 60 and I’ve been diabetic for 25 years. Getting off my insulin injections was my first step to healing and I’m not going to allow anyone to push me back ! I did lose weight on Keto...40 lbs. I was too thin at 104 and 4' 11.5". My face sunk in, wrinkles fell in on themselves (I was 68 at the time.) and I looked 10 years older. I gained back to 112, and I feel this is a good weight for me. However, during the pandemic lockdowns I gained 20 lbs. Now I have 13 pounds to go to get back to 112. I'm now 72. I am on no prescriptions, except PRN Meloxicam (for arthritis or inflammation pain).

If you have painful arthritis, you may want to learn about oxalates. A lot of low carb foods are high in oxalates, which wind up stored in our body's tissue. Oxalates can cause inflammation and calcium deposits. EOnutrition has a good KZbin channel focusing on the harm of a high oxalate diet...

I’ve had to do this… my first few months keto I got insanely estrogen dominant. I would ovulate really early and got fibrocystic breasts. Even tho I had lost weight.. now with a bit more carbs especially the second half of my cycle it’s waaay better - and definitely not gaining weight. That said I’m very active.. everyone just has to find what works for them.. but I’ve heard of many very low carb struggle with menstrual cycle issues - what Mindy days makes sense. I’m also taking DIM..

Thank you for sharing the comparison photos. I recently found some of me from about 13 years ago and was very surprised at how round and puffy I was all over. Back then I knew that my body looked like a barrel, but I was horrified when I realised how round and puffy my face had been. I probably didn't notice it because you see your face several times a day in the mirror but you don't look at your body as often, and when I was obese I tried not to look at it! I started low carb in October 2021 after being diagnosed with diabetes and lost more then 20% of my weight. After losing it, I started looking at myself in reflections when shopping and was amazed at how different I looked. And now when I see obese people (and of course know that they probably have metabolic syndrome) I feel very sad for them and think wow I used to look like that.

I dont mean to sound rude. But it just doesnt sound like much support in the support group if you dont go around an atleast ask every1 to introduce themselves. Its very supportive to show support to new people. I do however see how 1 learbs alot from others. But that new B could have alot of time under there belt with keto also, but if u dont allow people to share no1 knows. It made me feel that ones are more impkrtant than others. At other suppirt groups ive been too we treat the new B very special. So the continue to keep coming back. We need this keto lifestyle to GROW for people i would hate to have some1 leave feeling excluded.

God wants none to perish but all to come to repentance. It's not about being perfect as this world deems perfect. It's having believed on who Jesus Christ IS and humbled ourselves to a godly sorrow for having sinned against our Living God. Confess and forsake sins past and go justified by faith to go and sin no more. Not by strength but by His Spirit. It's having His Spirit and His heart of flesh to will and do of God's good pleasure. Dear Dr. Boz, a Godsend & sweetheart, I'm 68 yrs old with a bad heart valve and hyperinsulinism, IR and 100 lbs over weight. I did the Sardine challenge with the group and I wasn't near as successful with 4 lbs of weight-loss, only 2 lbs... but now that I'm back to regular keto eating with salads 🥗 and such. (So happy😂) But this is my favorite tid-bit takeaway. I am now eating sardines for one (1) meal during the day, and I feel SO good, so satiated. 😅 with Frank's hot-sauce and fresh lemon juice, its quite yummy! This is a game changer because many days, I am stressed about what keto meal to fix, what to feed the family etc. Now, I settle down with my sardines, which gives me very happy vibes and tons of control. I'm down 28 lbs & never looking back! 70 more to go. With this sardine hack, it will be MUCH easier. 😅🎉😊 .

the Austrian Medics still try to sell instead of insuline restistance the - fat metabolism disfunction an cholesterol lies... - after i have had an heart attack they tried to lie to me because they didnt know im very well educated- better than any univerity can do - i trapped them right when i was still in hospital and i have had a very awfull discussion about statines also - which they would give anybody but not to me - im still not suicidal to take statines....the Primarius was dismissed by myself - he have had oxigene problems (breathing issues ) after talking to me :) most people who dont care but trust thoose criminal Medics will take anything they put to them and will be there for the rest of their lifes. My decission was to switch my diet to Carnivore to get rid of my self-diagnosted insuline resistance ! Doc i love your work. We must be much more carefull when we go to Doctors. Dont trust them just by standard - just because they have a PhD. - it means nothing at all nowadays. Austria is very terrible when it comes to treatments - they still reside at stoneage methods. Since i am Carnivore i have much better sleeping qualities, falling asleep very fast and having more energy - but my brain - jeeez my brain is now a supercomputer ! Dr Boz how come you need dental work when you are in good ketosis. Keto, especially carnivore keeps my gums and teeth healthy. My main point today is the sardine fast (72 hrs) has given me histamine intolerance. It is extremely disappointing. I am Omad Carnivore. I now can’t eat meat so am existing on eggs till I can work out what to eat. I implore those who are contemplating the sardine fast, Be careful regarding this. I will never be healed of this. Now have yet another autoimmune. That makes 8. WHAT! Life is misery for last 2 weeks. It started with imbalance. So fell over a few times. Now have constant 24 hours allergy symptoms ……. Yes night and day!!!!!

@@zenyattamondatta7757 A 72 hour sardine eating only to the exclusion of any other foods enabled the autoimmune condition histamine sensitivity to raise its ugly head. I ate 3 tins per day, so 9 tins of sardines. I enjoyed them. Otherwise I would not have continued. However apparently tinned sardines are high histamine. I have many other autoimmunes. First I got were alopeci and hashimoto’s thyroiditis about 10 years ago. Autoimmune diseases come in clusters. Since then I suffer from 7 and now due to my sardine fast it is 8. It happened very suddenly. I didn’t know I was on the verge and would get it if I flooded my body with too much histamine. The symptoms worsened when I ate meat. Meat has histamines which increase with age and freezing. In other words the older, the worse it is. I am carnivore for 8 months. So am now in a really bad place. I think anyone with many autoimmune diseases need to be warned about sardines histamines. I have never had any sign of allergies of any kind before.
