Similar here. Keto 1 year carnivore 6 months. When I quit all carbs 6 months ago my fasting blood sugar got stuck at about 100. Almost never changes. Fasting insulin is below 2. Back when I was including carbs my morning blood sugar was 70-90 range. My theory is my body makes the glucose from excess protein and my insulin response is balancing my blood sugar where my body wants it.

I’m SO happy to have found you, Dr. Boz! Is the class for me if I want to normalize my blood pressure? I’ve been doing keto/carnivore since 2019, lost 40 pounds, and got off 4 Htn meds, a statin, and an anti depressant. I lost 4 people close to me within a few years. I retired and moved to a very different place. My diet has been less strict. I gained 6 pounds. I don’t have a doctor since I moved. And worst of all, my blood pressure has been creeping up again. I bought a new keto mojo because mine was 5 years old and I thought the new strips go to a new model. I want to get rid of my insulin resistance and be metabolically healthy for good. Thanks for your superior content! ❤️

Fascinating! Except from the repeated use of the word patient (which consciously or subconsciously propels a being into a helpless, childlike, powerless state, like a driver moved from the active driver seat to the passive passanger seat) , we find your presentation so enlightening and honest. Few physicians are capable of combining humility, tenacity, and intellectual curiosity to the extent that you are. Much respect! And for the preferred term hinted at above: Client. A client is one that enjoys a level playing field as a well respected equal, curious to learn vs a "less than" patient. No wonder doctors are said to make the worst "patients". The sudden removal of authority and a sense of importance can be debilitating. That being said - thank you for all you do! Your teaching style is uniquely engaging and so appreciated!

There was a recent panel of allulose doctors on YT. The comments were the most interesting to me. I experimented over the summer with allulose. Like other posters on this video, my triglycerides and insulin levels went up in blood work, and my HDL went down. Plus two liver enzymes went up. So please test and keep testing - allulose (like everything) isn’t for everyone. Take care.

How much allulose were you using daily?
@caryngoldsmith67823 күн бұрын
@ it varied. I made an allulose ice cream, so maybe 15 g in that. Then I kind of got hooked on Rx Sugar snack sticks, so 2 a day? 50-70 overall? I was experimenting. My insulin had gone up a bit when I was just eating ice cream. I have trouble getting enough fat in - makes me sick. So, I pushed my luck to rest the theory. Clearly not for me. Allulose is not only illegal in Canada, but in Europe too, I later learned. It really does help many with glucose issues - I’m just not one of them.

My question for all of you struggling to get morning fasting glucose down; what kind of fasting are you doing? Asumming your diet is very low keto, Dr. Boz's protcol would have you eat fewer meals earlier in the day, then progress into longer fasts (36-48-72hrs) once or twice a week. This is also what Dr. Jason Fung "The Fasting Method" uses. It's the only way to reduce insulin enough for long enough to get the ketones up and burn fat/get into autophogy. The more you do it the more flexible your metabolism becomes and your fasting glucose gradually comes down over time. It's something us very insulin resistant folks have to do forever.

Yes I agree - it is expensive and more for us in Australia because of the exchange rate and our economy is not doing as well as in the USA, so we are all really feeling the pinch. But I think there has to be a fee for it as yes they have to cover costs and make a living and I doubt people would make as much effort if it was free. If you’ve paid for something you will put the effort in so as not to have wasted money. But if the cost was halved then maybe way more people could take the course and improve their health.

I appreciate your honesty and clarity with your broadcast, I’ve watched people lose and gain weight I know that choosing a balanced diet is a good way to stay fit, Ive often wondered why physicians don’t just tell patients to not eat as much and to make a conscious decision to not eat as much and to choose a diet that includes, fruits, vegetables, meats , fish, nuts, etc my mother never counted calories she always fed us a wholesome balanced diet, i never considered it till my wife pointed it out to me.

So much information… not sure what you are saying… how do we change what we are doing?

This all sounds very promising. However, I would be concerned about people using the new GLP1 drugs as a crutch or abusing it, rather than sticking to a low/no-carb diet. It’s heartening to think there could be a solution to address several diseases, but I’m going to continue with carnivore as long as I can.

My take away that I remember from your original opinion of the Glp1 shots was that you said it was early & you didn't know how to take people OFF of them. Has that changed? It's so, how? Would be intetested to hear thoughts on that in a future show. Thx.

Planar fasciitis - I'm no doctor, but if you are struggling: Get rid of the arch fitting sandals and other shoes you think help and get high quality properly sized dress-type shoes for men and no heel leather sole shoes for women. I pray it helps as much as it helped me.

Ok I’m really curious when you say microscopic amounts what you mean, I’ve been monitoring my ketones and glucose for several months, and can get into morning glucose of 90 but still am challenged to get to lower dr Boz ratios, maybe it’s commitment would these medications be of support without side effects?

is the price of the 21 day course meant for the affluent only? What income class are you targeting with that cost? $1500-2000 is not affordable for the majority of people that cant even afford health care.

Yes I'm wondering what happens when a person stops taking glp-1. Do they return back to the former addictions. Interesting

Just keep going. Have been strict keto for almost a year and I just hit 79 today. I consider that a win.
