@@xbudsmoke9016: IF you’re on a serious ride to loosing weight and better health, stop the bread and pasta, and no spinach. Spinach is EXTREMELY HIGH in oxalates. Eaten other greens but spinach can cause serious problems you never want to have. Google oxalates and look at the images. It’s exactly like broken glass. If you cook spinach the oxalates levels double. If you do eat it, just limit the amount. Almonds are also high in oxalates. A lot of natural foods are high in oxalates so you’ll have to search and print out that list. You just don’t want to over do it with those foods. Bread and pasta will PREVENT you from obtaining your goal, no matter how much you cut out the other bad stuff. They’d a fact Jack. Don’t believe this…..try cutting out bread and parts for a month. Watch what happens. A warming lol. You’ll be hungery more often, but after a while your body will adapt and the cravings will be much less. Eat when you’re hungry. I’m not doing this myself right now, but I have in the past and have followed a strict diet for over a year. IT WORKS ! But sorry to say, “carbohydrates” is what you must avoid to obtain your goal. If you have the will power you can have some here and there AFTER you have obtained your goal. The truth is….if you have it once in a while, you’ll fall back and destroy the process you’ve made. Carbohydrates 😂. It’s the key to that locked door that leads to weight loss. Give it time and great things will continue to happen. Junk food……let’s not even talk about that be a it’s foolish. I am in my 80's. When I was a small child, my Grandmother owned a grocery store and I was there almost daily. But was allowed a soda only twice a month or so and they were 6 oz. They were a special treat. Same with candy and sugary desserts. Never part of our daily diet. People just knew better. Plain meats and fresh vegetables and dairy products were the menu. Actual food. They did cook with lard and bacon grease. Just because something doesn't kill you when you eat it occasionally doesn't mean it's good for you! I was appalled to see my grandchildren being given the Big Combo at the movies (20 oz soft drink, large box of candy and popcorn) because it was a "good deal." I was further outraged when my kids' and grandkids ' high schools started installing soft drink machines on campus and accepting their sponsorship for signs and sports arenas. But no one seemed to agree with my protests. Who made the decision that giving our kids daily insulin surges and boatloads of sugar was a good idea? The corporations selling the products of course. The same corporations sponsoring your congress members, who in turn legislate in their favor. All in the name of business offering jobs and growth and being good for people. I have to stop, but. . . I admire these gentlemen and others who speak with courage and conviction because it certainly isn't going to win them popularity contests.

If you have been eating sugar for a lifetime, fasting can do an amazing amount to get you metabolically healthy again and prevent cancer and high blood pressure and much more! Some benefits of doing occasional extended fasting: High blood pressure is lowered to normal levels very quickly while fasting. Fibrosis/scarring is reversed over time, including in the heart and lungs. Vitamin D plasma levels are increased as fasting improves metabolic health, and vitamin D in turn increases autophagy. Fasting stimulates phagocytosis, the ingestion of bacteria, plaques and viruses by the immune system. It will also remove any 'foreign material' like spikes that are not supposed to be there. Whether natural or unnatural in origin.. Blood sugar and insulin are lowered when fasting, allowing white blood cells to move more freely throughout the body and do their job. Fasting increases nitric oxide release. Fasting restores NAD+ to healthy levels. Blood clotting is reduced and blood clots and arterial plaque are reabsorbed into the body. Fasts from 36-96 h increase metabolic rate due to norepinephrine release! Telomeres are lengthened and fasting also increases anti-aging Yamanaka factors. After 72 hours or more fasted, your body recycles up to 1/3 of all immune bodies, rejuvenating your entire immune system. This helps prevent the onset of new autoimmune conditions, which develop through a leaky gut and damaged immune system. Fasting can help with MS, Depression, BPD, Autism and seizures. Thymus is regenerated, which suppresses aging and renews the immune system. The thymus also plays a vital role in fighting cancer. Weight loss from daily caloric restriction has 1/4 to 1/3 of the weight lost as lean tissue while many studies show fat loss from 36 h fasts without losing any lean tissue! The obese will lose extra tissue like loose skin while fasting, but the skinny or frail will have increased growth hormone release than the obese, which helps to make more lean tissue and reduce frailness. When you move out of MTOR your body shuts down the building blocks of the cell required for viruses to replicate. The hunger hormone ghrelin also lowers with extended fasting and rises from dieting. What breaks a fast? Anything with protein or carbohydrates in it will break a fast. Most teas and herbs are OK. Most supplements and meds will either break ketosis directly or contain a filler that will. Many meds are dangerous to take while fasting. Does fasting lower testosterone? No, it raises it when the fast is broken by increasing lutenizing hormone. Fasting also increases insulin sensitivity, which helps with muscle building. Fasts of 36-96 will not affect short term female fertility or affect menstrual cycle. They also may increase long term fertility, especially in women with PCOS. Fasting reduces pain and anxiety by stimulating the endocannabinoid system in a similar way to CBD oil. One day of fasting can cut your leptin levels in half and gets your immune system working properly again! This reduces leptin resistance, which impairs immune function. Stomach acid is reduced over time while fasting and can allow for the healing of treatment resistant ulcers. Some patients may need continued acid reduction medication while fasting. Does the body preferentially prefer glucose as a fuel? No. Except for brief periods of very intense exercise, your body mainly burns fats in the form of free fatty acids. Your brain also prefers to burn ketones at a rate of around 2.5 to 1 when they are available in equal quantity to glucose. Fasting stimulates the AMPK complex and activates autophagy. Autophagy (literally self eating) will cause cells to recycle foreign matter such as viruses and kill cancerous and senescent cells Lowering insulin via fasting virtually eliminates chronic inflammation in the body. It increases mitochondrial function and repairs mitichondrial DNA, leading to improved ATP production and oxygen efficiency. Increased mitochondrial function also has the added benefit of increasing your metabolism, fighting infection and cancer prevention! Fasting releases BDNF and NGF in the blood which stimulates new nerve and brain cell growth. This can help a great deal with diseases like MS, peripheral neuropathy and Alzheimers. Fasting also increases telomere length, negating some of the effects of aging at a cellular level. When you fast, this stimulates apoptosis in senescent or genetically damaged cells, destroying them. Senescent cells are responsible for many of the effects of aging and are a root cause of the development of cancer. A fasting mimicking diet for 3-5 days in a row also provides many of the same benefits as water fasting. FMD usually has 200-800 calories, under 18 g of protein and extremely low carbs. Exogenous ketones can aid with fasting, making it easier in healthy people and allowing some people with specific issues to fast in spite of them without worrying as much about hypoglycemia. They also help with dementia and many other issues even if you take them while not fasting! Glycine and trimethylglycine can also be useful supplements while fasting that won't break ketosis and have many benefits. Children, pregnant or nursing women should not fast for periods longer than 16 hours. People with pancreatic tumors or certain forms of hypoglycemia generally cannot fast at all. Type 1 diabetics can also fast but it is more complicated and should be approached with caution as it could lead to ketoacidosis. If you experience extreme symptoms of some kind, especially dizziness or tremors, then simply break the fast and seek advice. @@TNT-km2eg It is weird but I was so addicted to sugar and had built up such a tolerance over time it made me so hungry and irritable all the time. Cutting out Sugar did not magically increase my wages or give me financial stability. It did improve many things and my overall mental health and physical health. Our Gut regulates everything in our bodies... If we do not feed it, deficiencies in everything can occur. Refined Sugar kills the gut and poisons the liver. If your body is always playing catchup its time to run a different race. Humans were never made to run with the amount of sugar available today. For me my sweet tooth is gone. I could not say no to sweets and now I do not want them at all. I walk by the doughnuts at work and just look at them like beautiful little art projects... Admire the colors and the craftsmanship, but there is no part of me that wants to take a bite. I now know sugar only is good on your tongue. Once it is not on your tongue it only hurts your body... For me it was the key to sustaining long term success.

Dr Lustig was the spark that got me to quit sugar, sweeteners and UPF for good, it was hard for about a day or two then got easier quickly. If I can't get real food now, I just fast. This is essential watching for anyone who sees themselves as 'healthy'. The impact of even small amounts of UFP in our diet is truly shocking. I have been cooking from scratch for some time, but UPF would still creep into my shopping cart, but listening to Dr Lustig the transition was almost effortless as it was clear I was killing my family slowly. My wife and daughter still eat UPF because of the huge influence of society which pains me, but I won't buy or prepare it for them any more.

What is bad about sweeteners?
@vexy1987 Жыл бұрын
@@LEMONS884 Artificial sweeteners are linked to metabolic disorders and weight gain due to their ability to alter taste receptors, leading to a preference for sweet, high-calorie foods. They may also provoke an insulin response, disrupt gut microbiota, and cause overconsumption due to psychological factors. Additionally, they can potentially confuse the body's metabolic processes, hindering the processing of regular sugars and carbohydrates.

Sometimes babysteps are the most powerful thing to do! It's been a few months of no wheat, and it has cured my migraine, I don't have acne any more, my energy levels got more stable and it stopped my food cravings. Now I am a few days into not eating sugar and I feel this energy I haven't felt for so long. I feel like running up and down the stairs just for the fun of it, like a kid 😂. Also, as I was washing my face this morning, my skin felt totally different, smooth and plump and, young!! And my mood, well all of a sudden I feel happy, for nothing ❤ What I also really like is, I don't feel restricted. It's the opposite! I also work out 6 days a week an hour a shot also for the last two years. Out of all those things quiting sugar was by far the absolute hardest. I would literally dream about it! For a long time I had to mix artificial sugar in milk just to lick the cravings. It took literally years to stop dreaming about eating sugar. We don't realize it but it's a highly addictive substance. A few months after I quit I noticed I was gaining and retaining more muscle. In combination with my healthier life I am in better shape then I was in my late 20's at 38. I'm down 30lbs and I'm stronger and more muscular then I've been in years. It's like I've left a genie out of a bottle that my body has silently been begging me to for years to let loose. Sugar and booze are killing us all. I know you won't believe me until you try, but quit today, cold turkey. The next 6 months will be tough but I'm telling you there is a happiness on the other side you haven't experienced since you were a kid! I promise you absolutely all aspects from your health, your brain, your job, relationships will all be far, far better! Please, please, please, just give it a shot, do it for the people you love and who love you. Today you think oh well, maybe my lifestyle will kill me, I use to think the same. Now I know, looking back, I was an idiot.

You get tired after you eat because your body needs to make digestive fluids, about 6-8 liters a day of it, most of it is re absorbed in the intestines so you dont need to drink 6-8 but thats probably why. Your blood loses alot of fluid and so it doesnt have alot of pressure to send blood to your upper body and so the body makes your arteries and veins tighter to increase pressure (like putting your finger on a hose it helps build pressure to send blood back to the heart) This can come with the side effect of sleepiness and tiredness. Take your time with your food and you’ll be fine. Cut carbs out if you only really need to, otherwise it can have some health associated drawbacks (fairly minor to those with high fat stores) but it can still cause some unwanted side effects. Consult your doc and see what they think, we all function differently afterall

Me and my brothers were eating massive amounts of sugar. Tonnes of chocolate, pop, candy, freezyies, slushys, donuts, cereal and coolaid. Daily trips to the corner store. It fueled us. We were getting exercise everyday. 20 years later ive definitely slowed down and i no longer value sugar. Today i am in perfect health.

How is natural sugar better if the insulin mechanism has the safe effect?
@MonkeySmart12325 Жыл бұрын
@@JoAnnaPriestIsGreat do not oversimplify, there is a difference. Even calories are not the same from a same food for different people. Could you answer why some people can eat a croissant for breakfast and have no spike in blood sugar and others do? The key information missing in a video is how much is that little sugar?
@888jucu Жыл бұрын
Natural sugar and refined sugar are very very similar i.e sucrose. The issues is what are you eating your sugar with e.g a table spoon of 100% sugar will elicit a larger insulin response than the same tablespoon sugar bound up is strawberries etc. Sugars when bound with other things such as fibre and like will buffer the load into the system
@silverburn55 Жыл бұрын
@@888jucu What about the other sugars though? Glucose, fructose etc? The simple fact is humans - the apes in general - are evolved for a sugar diet, through an abundance of fruit and vegetable consumption. Their diabetes levels are a fraction of humans. Refined sugar isnt natural. The closer your diet is to natural, and the closer your lifestyle is to your nomadic simian ancestors, the longer and healthier your life will be. And that includes a diet heavy in fruit-based sugar.
@888jucu Жыл бұрын
@@silverburn55 Not sure what question you have but sucrose (table sugar) is a disaccharide made up on one molecule glucose and 1 molecule fructose. When we digest sucrose it is broken down to glucose and fructose. I agree with you our bodies know how to handle sugar as our species has been eating sugars since our ape ancestors. The issue modern humans in very recent times have is the sheer abundance of this substrate which we consume and it overwhelms our system creating metabolic disorders

A prime example of inflammation and sugar is just a couple months ago when Halloween came around. The candy that was bought to hand out was not all given out, I would grab a few small pieces several times a day. I couldn't figure out why I was hurting all over. After it was mostly consumed, then I realized that it was the sugar. I dumped the remaining candy in the trash. Still have addictions to chocolate, my weakness. My pain. Very informative video. Now, I am down 30 pounds from Jan, 2023 and slowly losing weight. Some months I will eat more sugar and gain 5-10 pounds back but then I catch myself and lose it the next few months. I changed my eating years ago but a year ago started to fall back to occasional fast food and I love cake, so I eat too much of that. After those videos I started again to change my eating. I don't want to get demencia or a stroke. Only two days ago, I started eating just my german wholegrain bread, vegetables, little cheese, fruits, nuts, fresh fish from our lake, which is not poisoned with chemicals, and two small chocolate bisqcuits. That first evening my blood pressure was so low, that I didn't need to take a pill in the evening. Just the next morning. Isn't it amazing? I made it to more than 80 years in age, still active and having fun in spite of the fact that I have absolutely loved and indulged in sugar all my life. I don't have any of the diseases people seem to want to attribute to eating sugar and I followed in the footsteps of my mother, who lived to almost 90 baking cakes and pies, eating candy bars and drinking soft drinks. However, neither my mom nor I was/am overweight. No smoking and daily exercise, but most importantly plenty of water (1-2 liters per day plus other liquids) and a good, balanced diet. They certainly exist - the famous exceptions to the rule. Everyone knows a smoker who lived to be 90 or 100 even though he smoked like a chimney. But hardly anyone thinks about the millions of others who have become ill as a result of smoking. It's the same with sugar: you may be the one who was lucky because of a good predisposition. But the millions of others who suffer from diabetes got it from consuming sugar.
