Well, I am 5 months on keto diet. By the way, in classic greek diet means ‘way of life’. I start in the morning with a spoon of apple cider vinegar. Than I prepare a scrambled egg or two with three slices bacon. At the same time,. I drink a large cup of expresso black coffee. During the morning I drink al large glass of water with fresh lemon juice. For lunch, when hungry, not always, I look forward to salad with olive oil and balsamic vinegar, with two slices of french cheese or ham. In the evening I eat steak or poultry or fat fish with vegetables. I injoy my meals very much and find it very rewarding. I am 71 now, take no medicine, perfect bloodpressure and my weight is right in the middle of the bmi scale between 20 and 25, I have never done any special physical exercise or sport in my live. I have never felt so fit as today, also in my brain I must say. Greatings from Belgium

@@whyliecyote6085 That's the food for younger people (generally) who have the metabolisms to deal with it. The older you get (I'd say 35+) you have to be more and more careful. I'm sure the occasional splurge is acceptable - like a birthday or holiday beer and pizza party - but the weekly indulgences (or daily) make it impossible to keep in shape, if that is your goal. Pizza is my favorite food but my body literally rejects it; lactose intolerant, the bread and acidity of the sauce makes me barf. It's like my stomach knows it's not good for me, but that only came with age and time.

im eating low carb around 20g daily for the past 2 years.. im still alive.. i eat mostly fish, poultry, and meat with a generous amount of green for side minus all the potato/starch which is high in carb.. i eat cakes, brownies and cookies too.. but my version is made from almond flour instead of normal flour, monk fruit/stevia sugar as an alternative for normal sugar. just think it like this, caveman survive waaay longer without any of the carbs.. they survive through meat and forage and they still live long... soo it is hard dont get me wrong. but with motivation and will you can adept and all your craving cant be found an alternative

Tequila and club soda was my go to drink of choice on Keto, but I think it noteworthy to mention (since I ended up in the hospital for this) you're at very high risk when in ketosis and drinking alcohol to go into Keto Acidosis. My alcohol tolerance was much lower on keto. Please be careful when drinking on keto. It was the most painful experience of my life.

The variety of meals I am eating has quadrupled, the access to recipes on the net and the information that is available is amazing. I am always satisfied (hunger wise) and would recommend this diet to anyone. Just to be clear I am 63 years old and was 129 kg now 122kg and falling! I'd call this a life saver!!

@MrBownze
@MrBownze 2 жыл бұрын
If it doesn't specifically say "100% whole wheat flour" as the first ingredient on the ingredient list, it isn't whole grain. Anything that states "enriched" isn't whole grain. Walmart sells "whole wheat bread" that the first ingredient is "enriched wheat flour", which is misleading. They also sell "100% whole wheat bread" in which the first ingredient is 100% whole wheat flour, which is the healthier product. Also costs slightly more than the imposter. Shocker, right?

Man, I’d say all of this is worth it. I had terrible eczema growing up, and it’s finally clearing up all thanks to keto. I’d much rather cut out these foods and never have to eat it again if that means my eczema is gone. I finally feel like a normal person.

Correlation does not mean causation. Going keto might have something to do with not having eczema, but so are a 1000 different factors. Keto isn't a magical solution to perfect food. Humans are built to survive on anything, hence our abillity to cut many different foods from our diet.

I like the last thing he said; "It sounds like you can't eat anything, but I assure you that's not the case!" Your options are definitely cut down, that is clear, but the ones that are left still taste good, and thank God fat is left on the low carb diet. I eat simply anyway because of digestion problems, and this low/no carb keto diet has really helped my inflammation problems. It's also great for losing weight. Fortunately, I like eating simple meats and vegetables anyway, so this wasn't very difficult for me to adjust to. The turkey sandwiches I miss, but I can deal with it.

@wakingfromslumber9555
@wakingfromslumber9555 4 жыл бұрын
Yeah , I don’t agree with some of the stuff he says here . Many of the fruits that he points out to be avoided have essential vitamins and minerals . Just one or two Bananas a day or 2-3 dates can easily satisfy sweet cravings for the day and in a very healthy way ! so in the long run you end up consuming far less calories than eating a slice of cake or pudding . . Just be aware of the amount of calories you are consuming , by default if you are eating unhealthy very processed foods then these generally have very high calorific content , natural foods are generally low in calories , a medium banana for example is only 60-70 calories , a Cadbury chocolate is 200 + calories use common sense and judgement .
@armadillotoe

@wakingfromslumber9555
@wakingfromslumber9555 4 жыл бұрын
armadillotoe Carbohydrates are very essential to living and anybody who tells you otherwise is lying to you ! Roughly 40-60% of your total calorific intake should come from carbs , . Bananas are a good source of carbohydrates for the fact that the body has an easy time metabolizing the fruit , this is because of the rich balance of vitamins , minerals and fiber allowing the body to easily process and store the energy in the right places .
@jethrotool4828
@jethrotool4828 4 жыл бұрын
Wakingfromslumber you’re incorrect. Carbohydrates are not essential and you don’t need 40-60 percent. You can live off nothing but fat and protein and your body will convert any necessary glucose it needs from the protein(gluconeogenesis). Surprised there’s still people who aren’t aware of ketogenic/carnivore. I know people who’ve been thriving on just muscle/organ meats for years. Literally ZERO carbs. Carbs are NOT essential. How do you think we survived during harsh winters for thousands of years?
@wakingfromslumber9555
@wakingfromslumber9555 4 жыл бұрын
Jethro Tool please just go back to school and stop spreading false science , humans have always eaten some type of grain in their diet whether that be wheat or rice with a balance of fruit and vegetables for many thousands of years and that tradition has never changed . Meat back in the day had always been a luxury , you would be lucky to have it unless you were royalty and it was eaten on special occasions . Surviving off only meat can give you disease like gout (the disease of the kings ) who ate very little fruit and vegetables and were malnourished.... My point is that your diet needs to be balanced , you need to get the right proportion of protein from meats , carbs from grains and vegetables and fats from oils to live a healthy life . Carbs are very important fuel for the body and anybody who tells you to avoid eating incredibly healthy foods like a banana is talking bull shit .

I don't know if you've since suggested this in another video, but a decent alternative to bread made with refined wheat flour, which is the worst of all, is to eat sprouted grain bread. Grains that are germinated and then dried and ground finely use the entire seed kernel plus the enzymatic changes that occur in the grains during germination are preserved in the bread. One slice of the bread I have in the morning is 14 grams total carbohydrate which may be too much if an exceedingly-strict keto diet is being maintained. For a low-carb alternative, I believe it's a good choice for me.

7 months on keto. What a change! I really like your food carb comparison to teaspoons of sugar! It really hits home, especially with the hidden sugars in foods we once thought healthy👍🏼 I don't think most of us realized just how much sugar we were consuming. You're probably too young to remember Opera's wheelbarrow of fat on stage & how we all cringed. We sure know better, but big food & big pharma are going to resist & try to keep us unhealthy & sick. But the nay sayers will eventually give into the facts & more importantly the healthy results from low carb / low process lifestyle! Will check out more of your videos.
