I've removed these at home by applying a generous dab of salicylic acid gel (the kind used for acne) and topping it with a bandaid. Changed it daily for 2 or 3 days. The barnacle softened and began to disintegrate, and I was able to scrape the rest off with a thumbnail.

I have lots of these and after a large one on my face was zapped three years in a row (with liquid nitrogen) by my dermatologist with no result, I decided to try tea tree oil. Amazing! Took a couple of weeks with daily application but it is gone with no scarring and has not returned. I use tea tree oil on lesions from shingles as well and it works. I believe more research should be done with these traditional remedies--they've worked for centuries!

I wouldn’t try this, especially on my face. Anonymous anecdotal testimonials are interesting to read, but obviously unreliable. If you insist on experimenting with these home remedies, try it on a less visible part of your body.

Just had over 200 of these frozen two days ago (used a canister and a half) and after was on fire! I wish I'd taken an Aleve beforehand. I'm wonderfully speckled and can't wait for them to fall off. They're all over my torso, neck and bra line and makes wearing a bra uncomfortable. I've had some really large ones removed two years ago and leaves a light spot behind. I hate that they grow back but I have noticed they seem to come back skin-toned rather than dark brown. Thanks for the great info, Doc.

Hi Dr Dray! I have skin tags (acrochordons) everywhere but especially in the face around the eyes. Over the years, I have tried all the methods. The first time it was a surgeon who removed them from me and it was by laser. Every four years, I see a dermatologist and everyone has their favorite method. Of the methods I've tried, I hate cryotherapy. A feeling of pinch and burning that I don't want to experience in the future. I have to make an appointment but the waiting time is still too long. Here in Quebec, you have to be very...very...patient! No method has left any traces except once when I didn't choose a good dermatologist. Here we have a doctor's prescription and last time I paid $10 CDN for the liquid (nitrogen) but no cost to remove them. If you go to a private clinic, it's faster but you have to pay!

Thank you so much for doing a video about Seborrheic Keratosis. I am 43 and I have hundreds of them. They started appearing around 30. I am fair skinned, so when they started appearing, I thought they were sun spots because they are on my arms, legs, shoulders, all the places exposed to sun when wearing a one piece swimsuit. I don't have any on my stomach, breasts, butt, or face. They are all flat, light tan to light brown splotches. I am so embarrassed of them, to the point where I don't want to wear shorts. I finally had a dermatologist look at them a month ago and found out they are SK's and not sun spots. She said they are not related to sun exposure, though I think in my case they are seeing as though they are not on any parts of my body that have always been covered. I also now know it's hereditary, and my mom and maternal grandmother also had a ton of SK's all over their arms and legs. She said a laser wouldn't help, that it would only help if they were sun spots. That super depressed me since there's really too many to try and freeze or cut them all off. You have given me hope that a laser is still an option!

Since turning about 50, I’m getting these on my trunk. I hate them, they itch and burn if I sweat. My father has these, I think that’s why I do, too. Wherever clothes touch my skin, they occur more, like around my neck, waistband or bra band.

Hi I just watched your video and wanted share what I have done. I have several spots on my forehead and they look like warts. I used 30% Glycolic acid. I apply it with a Q tip on the spot. I used it about 3 to 4 days and it peeled right off. I’m currently trying to remove other ones that are even bigger and they are taking longer. Am I doing the right thing?

I pretty much removed my dad's keratosis and skin tags for free, brute force. 😂 I mean I started washing him with exfoliating sugar scrubs and away they went. Got his shingles scar and other old scars from accidents and dermatologist scars gone using silicone scar bandages.

@@DrDrayzday Thank you! I've been suffering from nodular acne from 4 years now, my dermatologist only ever prescribes me benzoyl peroxide (which gives me extreme swelling and extreme peeling) or oral antibiotics, which don't seem to work well either. I discussed this problem with my dermatologist again and she gave me vitamin B12 shots, 4 per month which didn't seem to work either. Then i switched dermatologist and she took me off all medication and prescribed me to 0.1% adapalene, been using it for 2 years now, still no change but my dermatologist insists that i keep using it....

I just wanted to take a moment and thank you for doing the video on oily skin. I also had a question to ask, in that video you mentioned that you would not want a lot of products to be left on the skin. In light of that could you please elaborate if you’d promote Korean skincare regime.. Looking forward to hear from you

Thank you so much, Dr Dray! I have lots of these on my trunk. My self esteem is in the toilet. I can’t even stand to look at myself, much less get naked in front of my husband. I’ve been getting a few removed via cryotherapy by the PA at the derm clinic. Two or three at a time, once a year, and they don’t always disappear completely. Meanwhile my skin is busily making six or eight more. I’m going to see a dermatologist in private practice and pay out of pocket for eskata. I’m tired of feeling like a sideshow freak.

I have dealt with this on my face, I didn’t want to go through the treatments so I put oregano oil on it which is a hot oil and I would recommend using a carrier oil first but I did not and it took a big spot on my face away. I know most don’t recommend essential oils and I rarely use them but for this it actually worked
