I've removed these at home by applying a generous dab of salicylic acid gel (the kind used for acne) and topping it with a bandaid. Changed it daily for 2 or 3 days. The barnacle softened and began to disintegrate, and I was able to scrape the rest off with a thumbnail.

Took a couple of weeks with daily application but it is gone with no scarring and has not returned. I use tea tree oil on lesions from shingles as well and it works. Hi Dr Dray! I have skin tags (acrochordons) everywhere but especially in the face around the eyes. Over the years, I have tried all the methods. The first time it was a surgeon who removed them from me and it was by laser. Every four years, I see a dermatologist and everyone has their favorite method. Of the methods I've tried, I hate cryotherapy. A feeling of pinch and burning that I don't want to experience in the future. I have to make an appointment but the waiting time is still too long. Here in Quebec, you have to be very...very...patient! No method has left any traces except once when I didn't choose a good dermatologist. Here we have a doctor's prescription and last time I paid $10 CDN for the liquid (nitrogen) but no cost to remove them. If you go to a private clinic, it's faster but you have to pay!

Thank you so much for doing a video about Seborrheic Keratosis. I am 43 and I have hundreds of them. They started appearing around 30. I am fair skinned, so when they started appearing, I thought they were sun spots because they are on my arms, legs, shoulders, all the places exposed to sun when wearing a one piece swimsuit. I don't have any on my stomach, breasts, butt, or face. They are all flat, light tan to light brown splotches. I am so embarrassed of them, to the point where I don't want to wear shorts. I finally had a dermatologist look at them a month ago and found out they are SK's and not sun spots. She said they are not related to sun exposure, though I think in my case they are seeing as though they are not on any parts of my body that have always been covered. I also now know it's hereditary, and my mom and maternal grandmother also had a ton of SK's all over their arms and legs. She said a laser wouldn't help, that it would only help if they were sun spots. That super depressed me since there's really too many to try and freeze or cut them all off. You have given me hope that a laser is still an option!

Thank you so much, Dr Dray! I have lots of these on my trunk. My self esteem is in the toilet. I can’t even stand to look at myself, much less get naked in front of my husband. I’ve been getting a few removed via cryotherapy by the PA at the derm clinic. Two or three at a time, once a year, and they don’t always disappear completely. Meanwhile my skin is busily making six or eight more. I’m going to see a dermatologist in private practice and pay out of pocket for eskata. I’m tired of feeling like a sideshow freak.

I can sympathise and empathise with you. I also have a lot on my trunk (particularly back) and it affects my self esteem also. I am not in a relationship and it certainly impacts that area of my life. So I understand.😢

Hi Dr. Dray! Thanks for the info. What would you recommend specifically for clusters of these on the eyelid. I have about 6 on each eyelid. I think it is from rubbing due to dry eyes. Because of the thin skin there is the freezing method best? Thanks for all your advice!

My Derm removed it with electric cutery (i may spelled it wrong). I got it done within second. I had two little scabs which i thought were going to stay. They dropped on its own. I had one right around the lower lash line. I made sure wear sun glasses

I have dealt with this on my face, I didn’t want to go through the treatments so I put oregano oil on it which is a hot oil and I would recommend using a carrier oil first but I did not and it took a big spot on my face away. I know most don’t recommend essential oils and I rarely use them but for this it actually worked
@AB439984 жыл бұрын
How did ya do it did ya have to heat it up or something? I’ve got three 😢
@jessiebop04 жыл бұрын
Ashley Brotherston no just get oil of oregano just know it’s a hot oil so you want to first put a carrier oil to see how your skin reacts and then put the oil of oregano on a q-tip and put it on the age spots

Hi Dr. Dray I absolutely love your channel. You are so informative and I really enjoy watching your videos. Have you done any research on utterly smooth cream ? I use it on my children when they have really dry feet . I lather it on and place cotton socks on for the night. Seems to be getting the job done temporarily. I'm just Wondering if it is a good product from you perspective . Thanks love from Vancouver Canada .
