Hi Dr.Dray, Karla here at 60 and fairly new to a consistent skincare routine am and Pm. Is lactic acid good and safe to use under the eyes? And also: do you have a video on how to treat dehydrated under eyes? I use a peptide fueled moisturizer ( helps so so much) and of course sunscreen. I looked thru all of your videos but haven’t found one on how to treat dehydrated under eyes. Do you have one? Also would you mind doing a tutorial showing how you apply your skincare products( full routine? Thank you 🙏 so much for your dedication to all of us and to your U~Tube channel. May God Bless You daily.
@cuttieselfie6032 жыл бұрын
@@karlaharvey2623 I know this reply is somewhat late, however lactic acid is not recommended to be used in the area around the eyes seeing as it can irritate it. It is also recommended more for night use but if you plan on using it during the day then sunscreen is neccessary. If at first your skin is irritated by it, you can mix it with your moisturizer to build your tolerance against it.

Put a blueberry sized dab on your problem area and see what happens. Testing anywhere else is useless since not all areas of your face react the same. Here's my protocol: Patch test on arm first for allergies. Second test is a small dab of the product on the area I want to use it. Therefore if it irritated my skin I minimized the crime scene and can easily recover and have direct results. Imagine the catastrophe if you test it on another area, saw the area not get irritated , then you put it on your problem area and it blows up your whole face because the areas are not equal !

I have eczema so i'm not quite as sensitive, but i try to be cautious haha

I have The Ordinary Lactic Acid 5% but the instructions on the box are not clear at all. (Only says apply at night.) ¿How much should I use? ¿Should I use my hands or a cotton round to apply it to my skin? ¿Do I leave it on for only 5 mins? 10 mins? Leave it on all night until I wash my face in the morning? ¿How many times per week is safe / recommended to use it, given that this seems to be formulated for an exfoliating (rather than humectant) purpose? I have combination sometimes sensitive skin that is prone to hyperpigmentation, so I want to be extra careful about using AHAs properly. Thanks!

Use lactic acid after thoroughly cleansing and drying your skin. There are actually websites that can tell you the best sequence for all produces - e.g. toner, cleaner, lactic acid, and then moisturizer. You should apply each layer to your skin and then give it time to absorb (1 minute if you're in a rush, 15 - 30 minutes if you have time)

Do you use daily @ that 15%?
@lizbradshaw57472 жыл бұрын
@@Elizabeth-fh9qe Hi, Elizabeth. I don't use it daily. If you don't have sensitive skin I think it would be fine to use daily. If you do have sensitive skin then maybe 2 or 3 times a week. You would still see good results from 2 or 3 times per week use. I hope that helps. Good luck to you. Liz

I live in a dry climate. Can you recommend a lactic acid serum that has no hyaluronic acid in it?

Can I layer the ordinary’s lactic acid, hyaluronic acid, niacinamide, and naturium’s plant ceramide rich moisture cream as a skincare routine? I suffer from hyperpigmentation.

Hey Dr. Dray. I know you’ve mentioned using petroleum jelly in place of neosporin, but how exactly does petroleum promote wound healing?
@katydid50883 жыл бұрын
Simply put, the occlusive nature of the vasiline improves scar suppleness and stratum cornium moisture content, thus helping the skin's moisture content to an optimal environment for your natural healing process to continue. Neosporin when compared against a placebo of vasiline experienced the same or better healing results because allergies to the common antibiotics (sulfur amongst others) were absent. In other words, there's no reason to add the antibiotics when what actually does most of the work is the occlusion from petroleum jelly on a cleaned body surface.

Keeping the wound bed moist and protected

I'm trying it for the first time and it works. I have a couple of cuts on my arms and some insect bites around my ankles. Putting a little Vaseline on it AM & PM (plus if I wish my hands and end up washing it off) keeps the area clean, moist, and the scab isn't overly dry and itchy. I am tempted to pick at things mindlessly so avoiding the dry/itchy is good. Not sure if it makes a difference in scarring or not, we'll see.

I use the ordinary's lactic acid and I pair it with hyaluronic acid. I found it a good combo since it has it already.

I love your channel! I’d love a similar video devoted entirely to glycolic acid, assuming you didn’t already make one that I somehow missed.

Hi Dr Dray! How does one properly apply the PCA Skin product AND retinol? Can I put them on one after the other in the same session?

I just started using the Ordinary’s lactic acid. I use Paula’a Choice BHA for my acne but it just didn’t seem to help with the surface layer whiteheads/closed comedones and black heads. Which makes sense since that is for the deeper acne. So far the lactic acid has really seemed to help those surface layer acne bumps go away. This has been the smoothest my skin has felt and looked ever.

How often do you use both those products? I have them but can't figure out how much I can use them without overexfoliating 🤔

Hi Doctor Dray, Can i use Lactic Acid Together with Astringent? Thank you in advanced :)
@carolinagialdi24253 жыл бұрын
Lactic acid like the ordinary one should be used before or after moisturizer? I see you use it before, but you always recommend acids go on top of moisturizer
