Great advice! Ive been using the face theory exaglow which has lactic acid and for exfoliating I used 8% glycolic acid by Mizon and the switched to TO 10% lactic acid. Neither caused any problems as I only used it once a week but I much preferred Lactic acid. Mandelic was too weak, Glycolic was too strong, lactic acid sits nice in the middle for my skin

So I tried twice a week and it's still dark until I finally stop and give up. @dude87912 жыл бұрын
Glycolic acid is harsh for skin of colour and actually makes it more sensitive to sun exposure so that's probably why your skin got darker, lactic acid at 5% is safe to use once or twice a week (at night) but no more than that, the best chemical exfoliant I've come across for skin of colour is the Paula's choice BHA 2% perfecting liquid
@phoenixrose84662 жыл бұрын

I threw away my lactic acid serum. I used it and it melted some of the skin around my mouth and chin. I mean it literally ate it off. Because I am on Tretinoin which thins the skin, I can’t use lactic acid. Even tho you do not like glycolic acid, I’ve had better results with it and it has never melted my skin. I’m trying to heal those scars even to this day as a result of what the lactic acid did to my skin.
