i get where you're coming from when you say don't go into a job just for the money but giiiirl, a higher salary is a big motivator especially with how expensive everything is these days 😂😭 i'm passionate about healthcare but i'm gonna be honest, i can't help others if i'm not being paid a livable wage to help myself and my family anyway i definitely found this video helpful and it definitely makes me feel better when you mentioned project management is about transferrable skills. i will definitely be watching out for more videos from you!

I agree 100% that having a comfortable salary is super important! My point was primarily for those who may study or get into a field they hate just because it pays a lot! That’s a recipe for misery 🫣😂 I have a lotttt more PM content coming, get ready!! 🤩

Video was super helpful! Thanks, Sis! I retired from the army (a long time ago) traveled the world, and now want to get into project management. I have lots of experience but never held the title. Your resume section helped me tremendously because military experience is hard to put into civilian terms.

I did Google Cert as well. Dont skip the assignments lol. Your not gonna do it afterwards, trust me. I did my PMP too, its much easier after GPM. PMP does not teach nitty gritty which GPM does to do the job. PMP is more like a DMV written test but you dont need to know how to drive. GPM is learning how to drive. Real Driving test is in the workspace if you gonna put it all into driving its upto you.
@LifeWithLocc Жыл бұрын
Lol, love the way you broke this down! PMP isn’t meant to be an exam for training, it’s to test your knowledge of what you learned from your training prior to exam. I remembering trying out the Google PM course but didn’t finish. I do agree that the training is very practical and helps you understand the “why”!!

Hey Beautiful! You’re so knowledgeable. I appreciate the transparency. As someone who was “put” into project management you are not lyingggggg about being organized and taking initiative. I’m an introvert so it’s exhausting BUT your tips will make things flow more smoothly definitely!

I'm also an introvert; I really have to dig deep to deal with people. But, I come out of my shell when I'd doing projects because I need to see things done the right way or not at all.

This was super helpful and inspiring! We both have the same educational background - I have the same bachelor's and master's degree. I always felt like I could be doing much more with my career on a larger scale. I'm very interested in PM roles in healthcare! After reworking my resume, I realize I've had quite a few project management related roles. Thank you again!

During my college yrs, I was polemarch (President)and vice polemarch (VP)of an organization which initiated, planned, executed & completed tasks, and closed multiple projects and events. I have my BSW and have worked with that license for 12yrs. I also have been a company director for a family business for 16yrs. Now CEO of a separate property management company for a few months during which I've completed 2 home remodel projects in order to have a completed deliverable for clients. I also currently work as a hospital case manager for ~8yrs now. Lot of hats to fill. Yet I'm still not sure about how to use those years of case, people, and project management to better improve my resume as I would definitely like to transition into being a PM. I realize that social work and case management is not where id like to limit my life and leadership skill. Do you have any suggestions on how to better frame my resume in order to break into PM?
@LifeWithLocc Жыл бұрын
Think about those projects that you worked on in the different roles and use PM terms to describe the processes. Ex: instead of customers, say “stakeholders”, instead of solved problems, say “mitigated risks”, etc!

Loved the video, it was very helpful in regards to making sure it aligns with the type of person you are and your likes and dislikes. I watched a precious video and was inspired to get my CSM, but I found it to be vastly different from Project Management and much more structured. I don't feel I have enough transferable skills right now to get a CSM job right now and be able to do the job correctly. How would one go about getting more experience in scrum if they aren't in a position at work to implement the principles? Every entry level position I've seen wants you to have at least 3-5 years of experience. I haven't gotten any hits from recruiters since getting my cert. I have also had my resume revamped several times. I know the market is oversaturated right now, but I'm trying to keep the faith and not let the rejections affect my confidence.
@LifeWithLocc Жыл бұрын
My best advice would be to earn the certification and try to get hands on experience from volunteer projects! Sometimes the hits will come once you have the experience unless you find a company willing to take a chance without the direct experience!
