I really appreciate this reminder that asking questions and escalating is NOT a sign of failure, but of wanting to learn, and to stay on top of any potential problems. THANK YOU!

Love to hear that I’m doing the right thing. I’m currently doing these things are my bosses are gaslighting me into believing I’m worrying too much.

Good content as usual. The first point applies also for a more experienced PM starting on a new role in a different company. it is happening to me right now, I'm having issues asking questions and asking for help. It can feel intimidating to reach out sometimes but I'm working on it. Thank you!

Very true! I'm glad you're working on being more comfortable asking questions. We shouldn't let this stigma stop us from growing!

Thank you for sharing your perspective as an experienced PM. I’m currently getting my certification in PM and will finish my BS in business management in about 2 years. I’m currently looking for entry level project management jobs so I can start gaining those experiences. Really appreciate your video :)

I'm a quality supervisor in a warehouse with an MSc in Sociology, nearly a decade of teaching/training, and 5 years of supervisory/management experience. Despite working in a sink-or-swim culture, I've fostered a culture of continuous learning and improvement. I've unknowingly utilized project management, lean/six sigma, and kaizen methodologies (I just used my background to apply the scientific method to my role, without realizing that it was CI work). My question is: I'm trying to break into project management but lack formal training/experience and support from my management. Any suggestions?

Hi! Thank you soo much for this video. I am finishing up my MBA in may and still looking for a Summer Internship in PM. I've been applying to lots of job postings but I suspect my lack of extensive experience is not helping. If you or anyone here can help with resources, references, or a possible offer please reply to this comment! I'm eager to learn I just need to be given a chance. Thanks

I just got my MBA in Business, but focused most of my classes in Project Management; I'm frustrated that many tech/construction employers have not followed up on my applications for entry level work even though I have 8 years experience of functional management in the hospitality industry. I've reluctantly decided to take coding courses in order to understand programming terminology, any advice on how is the best way to enter a new industry? Should I continue to focus my studies in project management methodology or should I focus on an industry related educational focus?
@RecipeforSuccess12 жыл бұрын
Hi Angel - That sounds tough! I'd be frustrated too. Is it possible they think you're overqualified given your experience and your MBA? Are you applying to roles that want an MBA?

@@RecipeforSuccess1 I am applying for roles that require a Bachelors but I believe the job market may be over saturated and competitive in Los Angeles. I've accidentally applied at other cities and I have received replies for interviews. I guess I am going to just keep on grinding and eventually something should fall into place. Thank you for your informative videos and responses

Get the PMP certification. You can phrase your work experience using the PM language. I have an MBA, PMP, and PMI-ACP. PMP immediately gets you 20+ job offers a week.

I really need to know other certifications I can add to my pmp certificate which can help me to build a better career as a project manger? Thank in anticipation of your answer
@RecipeforSuccess12 жыл бұрын
Hi gbenga - I think it depends on your goals. PMI offers additional certifications that focus on specific areas like change management, agile, etc. There are also other non-PMI certifications (ex. Google PM Cert, Prince2). Is there a particular industry or type of project management that interests you?
@gbengatoba85282 жыл бұрын
Right now career wise am still trying to find a direction I have always have interest in project management and due to my present job as a technical assistant to a world bank agricultural project in my country I decided to major in project management although am a graduate of sociology and I have my masters in peace and conflict studies but now I want to focus on everything project management and build a broad career on it. That is why I need other certification related to project management that can give me a better career opportunity in the field of project management
