100% agree with you... And where is the RPM STACK??? Beautiful car, what a pity.
@lukathegarlic Жыл бұрын
@@JEDIXXXXX I do agree, but the reasoning behind this choice stated in the video is perfectly fine in my eyes. I don't mind it, I'd rather see and hear it more often than it sitting in the garage or needing repairs :)

@@lukathegarlic I don't know enough to understand his explanation, can you explain? Is he talking about an accidental money-shift? Or something else?
@DaEVOthefreak3 ай бұрын
@@mikejungle and thats the benefit of a modern EnginemanagementSystem and Airshift, you can programm it, a money-shift is impossible. Thats what a have todo next with my Caterham Cosworth and Quaife 6 Speed. Airshift and Paddles is saver to drive, and gives your brain some room for the track. This build is like i would do with a E30M3 (with an 2,5 Millington instead of a S14= 40kg lighter in front ) and just perfect.

300 plus horsepower out of a naturally aspirated 4 cylinder is amazing even by todays standards. High revving/high strung N/A engines are truly an art form! Stunning piece of BMW Motorsport history!
@82Heizer Жыл бұрын
It achieves 310HP at 8500rpm, the engines at that time ran at 10500rpm in the race and had an output of 370HP
@johncarl55052 ай бұрын
@@82HeizerThe original tops out at 9300 rpm and most naturally aspirated race cars at the time can reach that like the Holdens it raced in Australia. Even the big V8s of NASCAR could reach it although most ran at 8500 rpm since they ran longer 3 hour races. F1 though was way higher.

I had the privilege of driving the 992 GT3 # 6 car with RSRSpa the day this video was shot. For me, this E30 was the coolest car there, well driven too, what a fantastic day that was.

People complaining about the paddle shift don’t seam to realize that the DTM car had a sequential gearbox, similar to the Drenth box he had installed (guessing it’s a DG350). The pneumatic paddle shift controlling the sequential will avoid a bad downshift and being able to keep your hands on the wheel will minimize the risk of losing control of the car in high speed and high G corners.

Hy, you have a very beautiful car, exceptional, et I am so happy to see cars like this. I remenber 2 of these cars (but not DTM) made for endurance races, from a famous garage of Marseille (I beleive), cars which went on the same meeting like me, but in other category. I remenber the sound of these engines, UNFORGETTABLE. Great remenbers !!! Enjoy your car. Kris

Wow this is my dream also just don’t have the cash right now but working on it. Love what you have done and your upgrades make perfect sense. How do your lap times compare with 1989 ? I would think even being down on HP the paddle shift and newer tyre tech would see you close or better. BTW mean no reflection on your driving the hot lap looked great. But for me I would love the comparison of those times. Thanks for this I loved it 👍
