Cool video. I'm hoping to get a Merida Silex as my winter bike on the road and a possible panier trip to France. Haven't heard anything bad about it. Most the advice has been that it's a similar geometry to an endurance bike and best bang for buck at £1500, especially with the 2 by chainring. You're a Merida expert Dani, can you offer any additional insight? Love your channel by the way, been watching you years ever since my re-entry into cycling.

I love seeing Dream Builds with classic/relaxing music, the cut in it because of all the cable salad (what an effort with everything internal, guess everyone would curse it!) was a bit interrupting but funny though. 😑😄😊😑 Next time ride it though ☺️

I'm interested to hear about the two layers of grip tape. The the white layer a special under layer or just regular grip tape? The sizing of the Meridas is also a bit strange. The size S matches a size M Giant Defy almost exactly. Anyway, I should be taking delivery of a Scultura Endurance this week with Fulcrum 40mm carbon wheels as an upgrade 😍

In 17:25 in the first section of the wrapping you were doing it in the wrong direction. You were wrapping it Counterclockwise and while riding the rider applies force clockwise on the right bottom side of the handlebar (the section you were wrapping), this all because of the shape of our hand. So because the rider applies force that is In the opposite direction of the wrapping direction it will loosen the wrap and eventually fail. I recommend to you watch park tool channel explain how to wrap handlebar tape correctly. Nevermind, i only saw the white tape part

Is the front derailleur touching the cable housing behind when on small chainring? I noticed mine does, which stops the cage to fully retract and is causing some chained rubbing. Not sure how to fix it.

Im not an expert but in case of press fit BB and carbon frame it is recommended to use primer and some stuff on the shell before inserting it. Am I right?
@cyclingmilan
@cyclingmilan 4 жыл бұрын
He uses a pressfit with plastic cups which can deform a bit to the shape of the hole t fit nicely without retaining compound. in theory at least, if that is better for the bearings etc is an other question. unlike hambini BB's where the shell is super still, so if the hole is a little off you want to use those products.

I'd have loved to see you centre the brake discs. I hate rubbing brake discs and this seems to plague me especially when I change wheels on my gravel bike from thinner road to wider gravel wheels. I'd imagine there's a way of setting them.just right so whichever wheelset is in use they won't run and don't need adjusting.
@jasonwu2758
@jasonwu2758 4 жыл бұрын
I've tried two techniques. 1st spin tyre foward with brake bolts loose enough to be able to move then hold onto brake, then tighten. Still rubbed front and only a little on back. 2nd time I went by eye. Have a nice lit workplace so you can see straight down brake pads and disk. Tighten one end holding centered then the other end. All running without rubbing now. Good luck!

This bike was really easy to assemble kzbin.infoUgkxMesz3KOGEmwmvyKQfLfrRSUXLFzfVHZA and required very few adjustments out of the box. The wheels did not require any truing/adjustments. The frame had some small scratches, but nothing major.I did replace the seat though - the seat it came with was very uncomfortable. The tires need to be re-inflated every 4-5 days, but this appears to be quite common for the narrow 700x25 tires.Overall, in my opinion, this bike looks and rides like a much more expensive bike.
