I can argue that that's not true. Mt. Beast got popular because he started as a reaction channel that turned into a massive Philantrophy organisation that helps millions. Dream got popular because he was a pretty skilled minecraft speedrunner (pre-scandal) and made pretty entertaining minecraft videos. Technically no offense but Sumito got popular because he talks about other people's drama and shows up in Internet Historian's video a lot. Anything sounds underwhelming if you dumb it down a lot. Anyone that's popular gets more popular for the sake of being popular, that's just the side effect of having a lot of people talk about you.

@@analogicaleuphimism2078 mr beast just threw money to make videos that would make them so outrageous that people had to check it out, "pulling a car using toy cars" "i spent one biajillion dollars to recreatw the holocaust", of course he turned to philantrophy because that's a logical step to upsizing his content while maintaining his good guy status. Sumito nailed dreams rise pretty well, so i wom't touch that. Now, to adress the trivializing part you can use that argument against everything, sure, an engineer just makes stuff, a doctor just makes people feel better. All of them take the same path to reach that destination, but being lucky or/and a complete arogant asshole surely makes people think worse of you.

@@Donerbrt Regardless of how you feel about Dream as a person, he's doing something with his videos that consistently garners him millions of views and you just don't luck into a fanbase as crazy and fanatical as his. Getting one successful video is one thing, but every single one of your videos consistently gaining 20 million+ views despite it being "just him playing Minecraft" isn't just luck. That's a 1.75 trillion chance kinda level of luck, which people has pointed out extensively that Dream does not have. It's not that Sumito can't understand, it's that he doesn't want to understand. Sure he's not obligated to, but you can't just make a statement like "they're only popular because they're popular" which completely undermines years worth of hard work and effort learning the algorithm and making videos that appeal to so many people. Dream is an arrogant dickhead, but you don't have to like him to acknowledge that he got successful for a reason. If it's that easy then why hasn't Sumito surpassed either of them if he's such a hardworking content creator with his Vaporeon video. Internet Historian is also one of these kinds of big youtubers he talks about. His videos have a ton of cuts and edits and his videos garner millions of views despite barely posting because he already has a large fanbase. He's popular because he's popular. But I don't see Sumito complaining about him. This would probably the part where you will tell me that the reason he's so popular is because IH puts in a lot of effort researching and portraying events and telling them in such a fun and entertaining way, but that would mean acknowledging that a big youtuber actually has skill.
