I'll tell you one thing: In truth, Rei's wasn't a dream. They made it like this in the film, to... shorten it, because it took up too much space😥 It actually really happened in the original book! They had also made the scene, let's be clear. But it was cut: 😭 It happened in a museum: Rei was investigating with another companion, because they had said that there was a ghost there. But they didn't know that it was a beautiful ghost girl.😍 He decided to try on an old military officer's uniform, and then trying the bed, he eventually fell asleep. At that moment the detector was activated. From the closed door a strong light came on, pink smoke which then takes the appearance of a pink cloud, enters the room and flies above Rei. The ghost girl was really fascinated by him. Then we know the rest!😂 Rei will finally decide to leave her where she is. They'll start a "relationship" but come on!😘😆😁 In the film they had to cut it because it took up too much space. That ghost girl, in the official Ghostbusters guide, is a class 3 ghost. Her name is unknown, but she is called the ghost of Fort Detmerring. He lived about 100 years ago. It was said to be the ghost of an officer's girlfriend when the facility was a fully functional military stronghold.

From the book, she was the ghost of an officer's girlfriend. The officer was at Fort Detmerring, about 100 years earlier. Ray was wearing the officer's cloak (or something close to it), and was sleeping in the officer's bed.
