Housing is much cheaper in Texas, lots of people from California move there when I lived there. I do however like a corner lot because houses are so close together u less you buy in a 2 acre home site subdivision

Oh Val.... that house is gorgeous! The kitchen is stunning!! That would be my dream home also. My husband and I just moved into a one level home 3 1/2 years ago… Because of my autoimmune disease. I am hoping and praying it is Utah. I am a native Utahn. It is the most beautiful state!! All four seasons. And it’s not far from Southern California. We can get there in 10 hours. We like to visit Disneyland in Newport Beach once a year. I hope and pray that this dream comes true for you!! No one deserves it more than you!! I LOVE this! My husband and I will probably start looking next year for a one story. 44 years in 2 story, 4 bedroom is wearing on us especially as both our kids are on their own. We have something in VA called Parade of Homes that runs from the beginning of Oct. to the end on the weekends. It used to be only about 2 or 3 weekends but it became so popular that they extended it even during Covid. You get a book with the addresses or just go out on your own and follow the signs to beautiful homes. The best ones are fully staged. My bestie and I and our kids go every year for... I don't know 20 years now. So Beautiful, I go mostly for the staging! Jennifer Decorates has staged one and I believe Jami Ray Vintage did a basement in one and one year before Covid they allowed small businesses to set up in the basements and sell their wares. I would love to do that someday. They also sell the art and furniture out of some of the houses too! I imagine you're moving somewhere warm, I would!

When I was young my parents favorite thing to do was pile us in the car and look at sample homes. When we finally moved it was to a previously owned house so I was disappointed it wasn't brand new. In better times my husband and I would go to open houses to get ideas for our home.

Looks a lot like the home of my deceased friend in S.E. PA but hers was 2 levels and in a 55+ community. I do love what I saw and you are wise to be all on 1 floor. She also had the black cabinetry in her kitchen and a great room and those very tall windows. Felt like deja vu!!!

Since I’m Canadian, I have no idea where this home could be located. 😂 It’s an absolutely lovely house & much more room than your current room for your family. A bungalow makes sense for you, Val with your health concerns and a nice office space for your hubby. I’ve never seen that type of finish on the walls before. My only concern for you is all the ceramic floors which I had and found very hard on my legs and feet. If you purchase, you may want to consider replacing with an alternative flooring down the road. Did you check out the local Target yet? Lol!!!

It's a beautiful home. Get ready to keep the windows covered in August. You'll need that ceiling fan. I'm a New Yorker. I've been in Texas for 40 years but I still hate August! Haha. Winters in Texas are wonderful though. I love the black cabinets. I'm in the DFW area. We have a lot of good shopping.
