Dream Italian Villa Build 2024: Introducing our Project!

Introducing our Project
After buying a property on the edge of ‘Lago’ Maggiore in Northern Italy in 2016, it is now time to turn our Villa into our dream home.
The pandemic, building materials costs, red tape, local and national bureaucracy and finding the right team of experts have all been a bit tricky, but 2024 is the year…and it’s now well underway!
This is the first episode of our Italian Villa Build series, which will run alongside our campervan content…(and there’s some big news coming there too…!)
Please stay tuned, as regular updates will be posted so you can follow our progress and help support us in in our decisions….we love the comments, so keep them coming as ever!
Maybe someone has an idea which could help us along the way, whether it be the colour of the walls, the position of a window, the type of flooring or even the kitchen work-top we should install.

Wow how amazing that will be! Oh to live there! But we upped sticks nearly 6 years ago and moved to small scottish rural town and we love it. Weather even marginally better than Lancashire (apart from night temps in winter). We have just finished a garage conversion and we added a conservatory the first year so now the house is as we want it. We added a water tap on the side of the house near the front to fill the camper easily since it was a big walk around the back and have sorted the electric cable too. So much easier to prepare for trips away with everything just to hand. Really look forwards to seeing your finished result. You will hardly be wanting to go campervanning when you have it all finished with the pool as well! (Of course I know you will still enjoy travel as well really).

I love rural Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿…bliss. Nice that you have the house as you want it; I’m looking forward to mine being in that position. Good to think about making things as easy as possible for the campervan…like you say, much easier to prepare. We will enjoy travelling as ever, but it’s always nice to come home again isn’t it?!
