Welcome to the world of construction builders. Everywhere in the world it is the same. They start well and then they go to other jobs… but in the end it will get finished. (Most of the time later then you wished and hoped for, but you forget when your dreamvilla is ready) In the meantime i hope you all have some fun in the new van.

After two big house renovations, which were nothing on the scale of yours! There are points at which you wonder what you’ve gotten yourself into but thankfully it does all come together in the end. Everything looks bleak when the weather is grey and it’s relentless rain. When the sun comes out and it dries up it will fly. I’m certain. Your home will be amazing when it’s done so you just have to keep the end in mind. Your new van will be a welcome diversion and I can’t wait to see it. Thanks for sharing another interesting video.

Hi Sylvia! Sorry, I didn’t see your comment until just now, not sure why. I bet you’re glad you’ve finished your renovations! I have definitely stood in the middle of all the mess and wondered why we are doing this! But, as you say, when the sun shines things are much better. New camper will be a white Ducato, 6m36 long and a large electric step. Can't wait for the reveal!

Oh dear Jordan! Started well but understand your concerns. In a year (or two) you’ll look back on this with a wry smile. Good luck, enjoy the new van, probably done a shakedown trip in that by now. Hi Richard. Thanks for the comments and yes, I hope you’re right about looking back with a smile. We are positive and the builders have made some more progress over the last few weeks, so I’m happier! New van has arrived at the dealer and we are waiting for the registration and some extras to be fitted…shake down will be in April and we can’t wait!

Hi. I can hear the stress in your voice. As others have said I am sure you will look back on this when all finished and be really happy and this will just be a bump (or hole!!) in the road. It’s funny how many of us are following this with the same interest as the camper van trips!

Hi Ken and Carol! Great to hear from you. It is a big project and not without stress, especially when you consider the Italian bureaucracy thrown in! However, good progress is now being made and we just keep focused on the end game. New campervan wouldn’t look out of place stood next to Snoopy! We collect it mid April (it’s already arrived at the dealer, but we have to wait for registration paperwork and some extras to be fitted). We can’t wait! 😃👍

Thanks Gill. Builders have got cracking over the last few weeks, so progress seen. Nugget was awesome and we are sad to see it go…but our new van arrives just after Easter and we are really excited!!! Still a ‘van’ and has a few more facilities on board. All will be revealed soon! I know you’re right about the delays…it’s not uncommon but it can still be very frustrating! As regards the camper…hopefully you’re right! Of course, 5 seat and 5 berth…and we can’t wait!!!!

Hope that goes well. Our extension a few years ago was a nightmare from start to finish with builders for various reasons. Still things that need sorting but just left them for now. That is quite a size difference on the van going to an XLWB fiat I would guess of some sort.

I hope you get yours sorted. I’m hoping to keep pushing and get the result we want in the end…frustrating sometimes. Weather is stopping play again at the moment, but some progress has been made in the last few weeks so happier than I was in the latest film. As regards the van, you know your vans…I’m impressed!!!!
