Wow, quick progress, I can sense your excitement, yeah, had same trouble, food ending up in skimmer, emptying basket three or four time a day became a chore, built air curtain across back wall where skimmer is and is timed to come on when profi feeder drops food in pond, works perfect on for ten minutes, no more food in skimmer and have upped my feeding rate, 80% floating, 20% sinking, every two hours, 7am till 9pm, plus what I feed in their by hand, just tell alexa to turn on curtain, works perfect, can't wait till next installment 👍

Great feeding regime mate, gonna just play around and start serious monitoring on the new pond.... Great idea on the curtain... My skimmer doesn't have a basket everything goes straight into the drum, but I have Saki Hikari Pure White Shiroji in there and that stuff is a fortune hahaha.

@wills1206 I swapped out to wheatgerm about 4 years ago when my shiro utsuri went yellow. I would feed Saki Hikari pure white all the time if I could afford at at £130 for 5 kilos it's a bit much... the only reason I changed to wheatgerm is because its better for shiroji.... The Saki Pure white is the best thing for Shiroji.

Great update. So does that mean the pond will be deeper than you thought or not as raised off the ground? I am sort of doing the same as you in terms of food. Less in the morning but feom lunch time and evening, they go crazy so food portion is increased. I love where the pond will be. Really good place.

No the pond will be the same 5.5ft deep its the floor in the filter house thats being raised no change to the pond... In terms of location yes my wife wants to replace the french style doors at the back for full Bi Folds so should we do that it will be awesome.....
