I think Dream’s fanbase is so toxic because of their ages/maturity. For instance, I grew out of my ability to stan people and I’m 16. The fact Dream supports his stans in general is just him creating a Dream Stan Stereotype. He said that his stans are not bad it just a "few" of them are( Few you mean tens of thousands) . As a student in a STEM curriculum, there is a thing called SAMPLING which you take a sample of a small population from a lage population (Dream Fandom) to conclude something. edit: Lets say the total popualtion is 20 million(n) since Dream recently hit 20M subscribers, and margin of error is 10 or 0.1(e). To get the Sample size(n) we nee to use Slovin's formula which is n=N/1(N)e^2 so n= 20million/20million(0.1*0.1) n=20M/20M(0.001) n=20M/2000 n=10000 so yeah basically the internet knos now that Dream Stans are an stereotype and not a bunch of people.

As a fan of many mcyts, I’ve seen fucked up shit in the community, and that’s only off of Twitter. It scares me sometimes to see or hear how many people do horrible or disrespectful things, because I personally can’t imagine myself being that ignorant. I saw someone else in the comments say that “too much of anything is bad for you” and I agree completely. Basing your entire life around someone is not okay, nor healthy. And just a reminder to anyone who feels worried about this, hyperfixation does not equal obsession and if you’re hyperfixating on a content creator you aren’t doing anything wrong :) just be respectful and kind, and don’t push people’s boundaries or do things that could make others look bad.

There is a big difference between stans, fans, and big fans. A stan: a stan is someone who is obsessive over said creator. They idolize them way too much, except so much from them and get disappointed when they don’t live up to their twisted standards. They harass people who don’t like the creators they do and are considered the ‘toxic’ part of the fan base. A big fan: a big fan is someone who absolutely loves said creator. They always watch their videos/streams, show their support and appreciation for the creator and try and get people to watch the creators content. They aren’t toxic like stans, they just want to appreciate their favorite creator. And finally a fan. A fan: someone who likes said creator. Sure they might tune in on their content every once in a while, or maybe quite often. They like them a lot, but not as much as a big fan. They appreciate them and enjoy watching them. Please spread this around so people stop mis-using terms!
