I used a distortion and an exciter effector in addition to the reverb to lift up the high frequencies. The waveform is made up of multiple layers of octave-layered strings.

There might be some similarities between these songs as you said. Maybe the composer, Kevin, was influenced by that song. Supertramp is a great band. In my opinion, I feel that this song was also influenced by Pink Floyd.
