This guy could sing. His voice is fucking as the same as the studio version.

I'm thankful for Dominici. He played his part in making this band a success. He kept their spirit alive when they could have quit and disbanded so easily. Though LaBrie took them to the stars, Dominici found the Majesty symbol, which has since appeared on every DT record.

Charlie had a very special voice and no Labrie's performance singing these songs can touch Charlie's voice brilliance in this record.

This one will always be very special to me (Only A Matter Of Time). Kevin Moore's keyboard playing towards the last part of the song is scintillating rising higher and higher so joyful, triumphant, and glorious!

I honestly feel like Labrie is perfect for them for Images and Words forward... But for WDADU... Dominici couldn't have fit the bill better.

The truth is this DT album more than any other album revolutionized proressive metal. It is so progressive that it lead the way for DT itself in future releases and gave them confidence to innovate.

The audio quality is surprisingly good, despite the few distortions caused by the tape. Thankful we can hear this era of DT outside of their debut album.

Charlie blows James la Brie away all day.. WDADU is a masterpiece. I got my vinyl of it signed at an Images and Words gig in Wales, UK in about 1992? James signed the back lol! People where like "What the fuck is that album? We thought Images and words was their first" :D

2 songs in a style dream theater never quite revisited after Awake. and thats a pity. i feel this is what DT is and was best at rather than their contemporary releases where they try to be darker and heavier.

Hey Charlie thanks for the comment, I always enjoyed WDADU as it is, with your voice and vocal lines (great ones) and nowadays I can't imagine that album without you as the singer. I just can't understand why there are "fans" wich only complain instead enjoy great music.

Portnoy at 7:09! What a great song. LaBrie is great, but Charlie suits this album, and especially this song so well. A top 10-15 DT track for me, and probably my favourite purely because of the vocals. That part where he sings "When dream and day unite"!

🙌🏻 what a beautiful and amazing pieces of music. It's really incredible how strong could be the influence of Moore composition in Dream Theater. A Matter of time has a lot of awesome keyboard's solos! P.D.: Dominici's voice and the innocence in WDADU made an unforgettable album that maybe today tastes better than in it's time. Like wine 👌🏻

I have always thought that Charlie was the better vocal for Dream Theater than James. I am sorry, but he has the punch, he has the attitude, he has the charisma. I never knew why was he replaced but what’s done it’s done. Truth hurts but he’s simply better. It’s obvious even on this low quality record. Charlie was Superior than James in every single aspect

Styxkyd Well, there's a show from the Chaos in Motion Tour, on Images and Words' 15th anniversary, Labrie did do the second verse of Take the time, and although some people say it's a little on the falsetto side, i'm still unsure of what it is. That being said, they do the entire album, with that verse. If you know the difference between falsetto and not-so-much-falsetto in this case, let me know. Search up "Dream Theater Images and Words 15th Anniversary"

and since that guy says you're a pro at finding bootlegs, do you have a show from 2006 where they do Take the Time? I'm wondering if they do the second verse and if James sings it really well since he was good at that type of mixed voice that year!

Charlie is awesome. But, he let the end of melodic lines slip. And, I have to wonder if this influenced DT to drop him after a series of concerts. I wished that someone would have said, "Charlie, you are losing energy at the end of lines, if you keep that energy up and hit the notes, you keep your position as singer for an incredible run."
