Underrated band. These guys are so tight and so sophisticated in their musicianship that I’m surprised they aren’t more well known. Unbelievably talented.
@iaingreig96854 жыл бұрын
They aren't more well known because music is an art and not a sport. Their technical skills are amazing, but honestly thats all I hear when I listen to their music. It doesn't move me at all and good music should move people. That is why they aren't filling stadiums, or headlining huge festivals and never will.

Well, I'd say it's a combination of the tightness of the Mesa he was using on this tour paired with the Axe FX and a couple of choice pedals. The Music Man Majesty is also key with the DiMarzio Illuminator pickups. It took a long time but I finally own all of them. It helps being one of the greatest players of all time, but I pretty much have his tone now.
@anthonyst89126 жыл бұрын

@AdamMGuitar5 жыл бұрын
We all can have his gear, but none of us will get his tone if you know what I mean. It's just how it is. Every human is unique in some way. JP has perfected his sound in terms of gear and has abilities that many look up to. Of course, I would love to sound like him, but I stopped trying to replicate his tone because it's impossible to mimic it 100%. It's also hands, feeling, mindset etc. At the end of the day, it's him and his unique attributes that are crucial, not the gear he uses.

Over and over again I relive the moment I'm bearing the burden within Open wounds hidden under my skin Pain as real as a cut that bleeds The face I see every time I try to sleep Is staring at me crying [Chorus] I'm running from the enemy inside Looking for the life I left behind These suffocating memories Are etched upon my mind And I can't escape from the enemy inside [Verse 2] I sever myself from the world And shut down completely All alone in my own living hell Overcome with irrational fear Under the weight of the world on my chest I buckle and break as I try to catch my breath Tell me I'm not dying [Chorus] I'm running from the enemy inside Looking for the life I left behind These suffocating memories Are etched upon my mind And I can't escape from the enemy inside [Bridge] I'm a burden, I'm a travesty I'm a prisoner of regret Between the flashbacks and the violent dreams I am hanging on the edge Disaster lurks around the bend Paradise came to an end And no magic pill Can bring it back again [Guitar Solo] [Chorus] I'm running from the enemy inside Looking for the life I left behind These suffocating memories Are etched upon my mind And I can't escape from the enemy inside

Awesome tune and band is so original. Portnoy and Mangini have def carved out their drumming legacies. But there’s a Latino drummer here on YT that’s got this tune covered note by note on a tiny jazz style kit. El Estapario Siberanio, spelling is pretty close. Just search by song title and hang on. The guy is no joke with handling this tune.
