Jo Dong Hyuk is an action star in South Korean movies and TV. He usually played tough guys like cops, private detectives and the like. In 2017 his services would not have come cheap. Korean leading men usually come in two flavors, flower boys (Kpop boy groups are filled with these types) and rugged tough guy types. He was the 'not dying my hair pink' tough guy. There's a running joke in South Korea about nosebleeds. Guys who are really smitten by a woman get nosebleeds because their blood pressure skyrockets.

"Chase me" was their debut, released on January 13th (a Friday), 2017. It must have been nerve-wrecking for the members, re-debuting with a genre that is not popular in Korea after Minx failed. (5 of them were Minx before.) But they already doubled their sales with this. And they stuck with the Rock/Metal vibe until today, now selling 50 times the albums than Minx did. This is the start of the Nightmare arc, which spans 6 MVs and 1 Japanese release. They are Nightmares here, and the Nightmare hunter is trying to dispel them - how that turns out is shown in the next one, Good Night. Remember the ending here for when you react to Good Night!

Hey guys! Thanks for checking out more Dreamcatcher. You're right, Chase Me is their debut track, released on a Friday the 13th, in January 2017. This is actually the first part of a 7 part story called the Nightmare series. The Nightmare series consists of the following songs Chase Me Good Night Fly High - This is a prequel to Chase Me You & I What Piri Breaking Out - This is their first Japanese release. The story unfolds across all the MVs but the gist for Chase Me is that the hunter was sent to find them and trap them. They're not exactly ghosts but they're Nightmares, but they're very similar. They will probably be coming to the US later this year, so you've got plenty of time to work your way through their discography if you want to, before that happens. If you're more interested in personality stuff, then there are some great guides and video for them. They're hilarious and very unfiltered so if you like comedy I'm sure you'll like them. If you want some guide recommendations, I'll be happy to provide some.

dreamcatcher \:D/ I won't give any plot spoilers since you seem to be having fun with that 🤣 a lot of dreamcatcher's lyrics are abstract and a reflection on themselves. in short chase me is about just being yourself in a world where everyone is trying to change you, tell you what is good or right. just be you and eventually everyone else will 'chase' you. if you keep this in mind, a lot of the lyrics will click like "why do you try to fit me in that frame?" and "even if you say I’m doing wrong or bad. I don’t know what is the problem, this is the way I am." the red apple is the forbidden fruit in this context. so history time, before they were dreamcatcher, 5 of the members were minx, a cutesy bubblegum pop kpop group you are probably very familiar with. being from a small company with limited resources, they couldn't stick out and essentially failed. in an industry that has negative 'darker side' connotations, that should have been the end of them but their ceo did the unthinkable and gave failure a second chance. this time they would do things their own way and succeed or fail on their own terms. they were going to break the stereotypical kpop mold for girl groups and even make music using genres not popular in their native country - rock and metal. no one knows what went on behind the scenes, but we know the ceo has a jrock career background, siyeon the main vocal was part of a rock group in her teen years, and a few members were atypical for koreans and listened to rock/metal. dreamcatcher is their second chance to 'catch' their 'dreams' of being singers. because of this background, a lot of their songs are very inspirational.
