early dc line distribution was a little rough, but it's understandable, the 5 members of minx had more training at that point, and Gahyeon was very young, while Dongie was still learning korean and had difficulty pronouncing words. their b sides are really versatile, and you will keep getting whiplash, especially with their later albums. one second you'll be headbanging and the next curled up on the ground in tears 😂 edit: if you were interested in seeing mamamoo in concert, theyre going on tour this year, later this month and into june. i won't lie to you, this may be their first and last time touring the states sadly. they have such amazing live vocals, so if you're interested, definitely check it out!

Thank you, seeing old comments always makes me so annoyed. Like yes the two newbies were really good too but I think it was fair to give the most lines to the re-debuted seniors, not to mention that at that point GahDong were both listed as sub vocalists. It made sense that they put Siyeon with her rock voice (and band experience) and Yoohyeon with her powerful voice first for the rookie phase. Also GahDong massively improved over the years which is fine taking the only 6 months of training into account. Not to mention people always make fun of Sleepwalking but it's actually not as bad as you would think. And also everyone forgets that line distribution doesn't equal memorability. Seeing these old videos again makes me really recognise Gahyeon, but also Handong's voice on the ballads. And as an example, Sua had very little lines in Maison but no one noticed or was even shocked when they found out because she was so present that era and in the mv. Sorry I'm very passionate about this but I'm glad I wasn't an Insomnia back in the day. I would've only fought with people😂

I'm going through emotional whiplash through every album! hahaha Though I get the 5 original minx getting more lines in the early years but glad things evened out throughout the years. Also I was hoping to get to see Mamamoo but couldn't get the date free from work, I'm so sad!

This album is such a good first EP. It stays true to their identity with Fly High and the heaviness in it while also showing a lot of experimentation in their sound. From here forward it just gets more and more varied. There are so many amazing b-sides in their discography. Wake Up is actually one of my least favorite of their tracks, with that said, I still really like it. I just don't think it's as dynamic as most of their songs which is one thing I really like. Sleep-Walking just does something to my brain. It reminds me of being a teenager sitting in an arcade playing racing games. I love it. Trust Me/It's Okay is a beautiful ballad and Sua and Handong really stand out to me on it. Handong doesn't have many lines but when she comes in towards the end her voice just cuts through everything, and she sounds amazing. I'm glad you like EDM, you'll get at least one track of the EDM variety on just about all of their albums going forward. Next up, Nightmare: Escape the Era. "Do they have a bad song"? In my opinion, that's a no. Their entire discography, almost 100 unique songs at this point, are all good to amazing.

before and after is one of my fav intros, i love the way it leads into fly high! i don’t comment under every video but i watch every single one and have really been enjoying your deep dive so far! especially excited to see your reaction to escape that era cuz that album is UNBELIEVABLE. i mean they all are, prequel included, but escape the era holds a soft spot in my heart hehe also i’m sorry i know this was before smn gave you a playlist of lyric videos but i couldn’t stop laughing at how much the person who made sleep walking’s lyric vid messed up with who sang what 😭😭 + not sure if this was mentioned yet, but dami fully wrote scar (a bside in escape the era)! the lyrics are amazing 😭 something to keep in mind!

Wow that Wake Up and Sleep Walking color coded videos had so many mistakes when it comes to who was singing It really bugged me because I recognized who's singing so well and I was like ''Nooo that's [insert name] singing not [insert name]'' xD

Thanks for the video. "Before and After" as an intro fits the album as a whole I think. Like I said before, "Fly High" grew on me. It's so much better live, especially the acoustic version. "Wake Up" also sounds a lot better live. I don't know if it's because when they're live, they sing lower. Or it could just be their energy. "Sleep Walking" sounds very interesting. Like it can be in an old school video game. "Trust me" is probably my favorite track off the album. It's such a wholesome heartwarming song. I think it may be my top DC ballad, if not at least top 3.

"Full Moon" should be coming up soon. It's their first anniversary and fan song tribute. Which has choreo as well. I think there is special stage during "You & I" promotions where we for the first time get to see Suitcatcher performing "Full Moon", iirc.

The first couple releases, there wasn't enough opportunities to build a 'style' but one of the things you'll notice as you continue the journey is that you can start to recognize musical connections to previous b-side tracks. All of this is possible only because almost every track in their discography are done by LEEZ and Ollounder. They really are the hidden members of Dreamcatcher because they bring musical consistency to Dreamcatcher's sound beyond just the member's voices. Just like the members grow into their style, you'll notice how LEEZ and Ollounder grow in their writing and producing for Dreamcatcher. It's something you can really start listening for after this mini album. Fly High, What and Rose Blue are the only three non-LEEZ/Ollounder korean language title tracks.

@@roguereactsthe next comeback will be the first time in AGES that LEEZ won’t be involved. I’m fairly sure he has signed an exclusive contract with Hi Hat Co. and will be a music director there. It’s a new company that is yet to debut groups, so unfortunately I think that will likely end his ability to create music for Dreamcatcher in the foreseeable future. A good opportunity for him though! And also does allow DC to keep things fresh, and their next album does sound like it’s going to be an absolute banger!

I love this album so much, and concept-wise it reminds a lot of Insomnia of the new Mystery Code for A: From us. I get a mixture between Fly High and BEcause, as in Summer Holiday but with a spring twist and I LOVE THAT. Just ordered my two copies of the album, the 24th can't come fast enough. If I don't mix it up completely Wake up is a classic encore song for their concerts, alongside New Days. Both really great songs for them and just fun. Oh and you already know this but boy are the colour codes off😂

It has been awhile since i heard sleepwalking ( thank you spotify shuffle 🙃) it gave me chills. Dc distribution in their early dates unfortunately werent the best, thankfully it is not the case now. Early dreamcatcher line distribution sucked ass. Gahyeon and Handong had like one or two lines in the songs while Siyeon and Yoohyeon were full of lines. If Dami didn’t have a rap she would get one or two lines as well. Also the color coding in the Wake Up lyric video you chose was very off (they corrected it in captions but yeah still, now I’m tempted to make them a corrected video), not ur fault but I was surprised by how off it was. At the same time it was early Dreamcatcher. Sleepwalking is one of my fave B-Sides from Nightmare. You’ll see more EDM/Synth Dreamcatcher in the future and oh it grows more beautifully. The color coding was off on some moments but not as bad as Wake Up. I’m sure the more you listen to them, you’ll learn how their voices sound too. I kinda had to since I did all the color coding on Genius for most of their pages. That’s how I also noticed the unfair distribution. It gets better post Handong return from China. Hearing Trust Me was a new experience bc I don’t have it on my playlist since I don’t really like ballads (with some exceptions of course). The melody and instrumental are kinda basic but the lyrics are the strong point here. Dami’s rap and harmony with Siyeon was super cool tho! Handong in the slowed down chorus was very heartfelt as well. Handong tends to stand out more in their ballads (since she loves them and also wrote chinese versions of some deukae ballads! I also heard the violin in the chorus and maybe you didn’t notice it during ur first listen is bc it’s mixed with the guitar but it creates that dreamy feel they were going for vs the metal parts that represent the nightmare. I can see why the line distribution was off towards the beginning as Gahyeon and Handong were new and rookies. Going forward I have much better Lyric videos! Sorry it was so bad!
