This video is so amazing answered so many questions I've been reading all over the Internet with and it's great to hear it right from the JVC source

Makes a nice change to see someone mention seating distance and viewing angles. Most people just want a big screen and don't give a thought to where the seats are.

Very interesting video. NZ7 and 150 inch screen here. Now need to get my info calculated. So seems like 39.54 fl on my setup. So according to him can probably close aperture?

So it’s better to get a projector that might give you too much brightness as you can always bring it down in the settings?

Definitely think about it as having more horsepower available in a race car for when you need it. Same with lumens for a projector. Always better to have more available.

most calibrated systems are putting out less than 1500 lumens when its all said and done. having more is a good idea, but in some cases is not necessary

@@keepingupwiththejones2933 WRONG. Because those TORCH projectors are going to have terrible blacks and contrast. I would only get one of those if I did not have a light controlled room.

Thanks for the great informative videos! Just a follow up question please. Could the JVC NX7 fair Good with a 160 inch cinemascope screen 1.3 gain in a low ambient light room?
@downersup22 жыл бұрын
If you're going that big with the screen you'll need an anamorphic DCR lens for sure!

Well done! I love to watch your channel.

HDR is high dynamic range not brightness. More lumens do help because it gives the ability to have a larger range of dynamic colors. Very insightful video. Thanks for sharing.

I find the JVC contrast and black level narrative to be massively exaggerated. Some of the dimmer models can do an OK black with nothing else on the screen (if the room is pitch black). But... any other light will illuminate that white screen and make those blacks gray. There is no way of achieving good blacks on a white screen with a bright projector. I've tested hundreds of projectors and I'm significantly less impressed with the real world contrast on JVC's lcos models (than the marketing hype). That 150,000:1 native CR quickly becomes 150:1 when you're watching a movie. The black bars on 2.35:1 content are every bit as distracting as on any DLP. JVC does have excellent processing though. Their anamorphic stretch algorithm is magnificent. My anamorphic lens looks superb. Even better than on my high-end Barco devices. In my experience more calibrated lumens is always better. You can't have high contrast without high brightness. I have 15,000 lumen 3 chip DLPs and I've never found anything too bright. Calibrated and accurate always looks good. More brightness with accurate colors always looks better. More vibrant, saturated. More 3d looking. Better shadow detail. Better contrast.
