You need to measure diagonally to make sure something is square . Not top to bottom and side to side. Look it up if you don't agree. Love the videos and your professionalism, very neat and clean installs. Thanks. learning a lot about home theater.

Measuring the screen side to side and top to bottom won't tell you if it's square. Check It corner to corner both ways. If those two dimensions are equal, then it's square.

The toner tool is nice. If you're without one and you really need to "tone-out" a wire to a speaker, tap the bare wire ends onto the + and - of a AA/AAA battery, you'll get a clicking sound out the speaker. AA/AAA are only 1.5 volts so you're way under the capacity of the speaker or the wire.

These guys are pros , But im a bigger pro in Audio , working with it for 15 years , so i can tell you , It is wonderful to have Speakers in Wall , that way you dont have Wall reflections from the backside of the speakers , witch is of course out of phase from the front wave , and is real bad , so its good , you can even leave the speaker port in the wall opened so that sounds from back goes out , not staying in the wall . But Speakers dont have to be on ear level , what they should be is aimed at the listening spot . You dont just put them in wall , you aim them . Down and to the left or right . So what should be done here is a kind of tilt towards the listener on side speakers , i guess 2 is enough , no need for center one . Other then that , its prefect .

Looks great, one recommendation for the DIYer use twisted pair speaker wire. The non twisted wire acts like an antenna that picks up too much interference (even from your electric and lights). Using the right wire will benefit your sound experience tremendously.

Curious, why aren't the speakers placed behind the screen? My understanding is that a perforated screen allows the sound to travel through and you get to place your screen at the desired height as well as all the speakers. If these customers opted not to do that Im curious as to what the price deifference is between their screen and one that allows behind the screen placement. thx

If your horizontal and vertical distances match at the locations that were measured there is no need to measure diagonally. You have already confirmed that the frame is square. Trick for anybody to calculate the center of a measurement.... example would be something that appears complex. Say you need the center of a 15 3/4 measurement. Since it’s the odd numbers that create the problem, rewrite the measurement as it’s equivalent to the nearest even inch. So 15 3/4 becomes the same as 14 plus 4/4 plus 3/4, which is 14 7/4. Now, half the 14 you get 7, and half the fraction by double I get the denominator, 7/8. So center becomes.. Total. 15 3/4 Rewrite. 14 7/4 Center 7 7/8 Other examples. 123 7/8 overall 122 15/8 61 15/16 center 77 5/16 overall 76 21/16 38 21/32 center The trick is halving the fraction is same as doubling the denominator, and rewriting or visualizin the fraction from the previous even inch, not using the odd.
