Never knew Berkey was a lefty. I was a pitcher back in high school as well. I was throwing hard and had a solid curveball, and batted .370 as a pitcher. It never worked out for me either. Hopefully I can follow in Berkeys footsteps. Great docu, I’ve seen this many times while I’m out doing my gig work. Thanks Tom and the above the felt for keeping me inspired as I continue to progress in poker. And congrats to Rampage! Hopefully I succeed enough to work with the team one day ;) Cheers.

Awesome documentary. I’m happy to see how poker has evolved. I gained interest in 2004 during the moneymaker effect and then seeing Greg Raymers giant chip stack at the final table before winning 5 million dollars. I was hooked. I only got to play my first live wsop tournament in 2022. It was the $600 deep stack. The only one in my budget 😅 and lasted about 7 hours. It is still my dream to one day play the main event. I feel like I could cash and that would be a huge event for me.

I used to play three or four nights a week. Made a living playing tournaments during the week and then cash games on the weekends only. That's fine and dandy while being a single bachelor. But as soon as I started a family and got married I soon realized the 9 to five work is much more responsible and secure. I haven't gambled in years. Tho I do miss it.

This is brilliant. I particularly love the section at the end where the important distinction between the casino and playing poker is drawn. Yes, it's a gamble at times. But it's a game of strategic thinking, emotional intelligence and skill. And if you possess those qualities you can be really good at the game. I play in Leeds in the UK, where the game is no where near as big as it is in the States, hopefully one day!

Really a sweet dream that we carry in our hearts. Many thanks to the makers for this five-star documentary (compared to the rest, only the passage about Heads-Up is a bit boring since they mention only each other but no one else in the industry), but otherwise flawless with versatile characters and plenty of room for identification. Moneymaker as the centerpiece of this lovingly crafted work is also a brilliant choice. It's a real shame that the WPT and WSOP aren't available for free on KZbin. That would really help realize the dream of growing numbers, among other things. By the way, I wonder if I'm the only one who thinks of Barney Rubble every time he sees Chris Moneymaker 😊❤️✌️

"Dreamers" that's a good name which implies newcomers youngsters, even CM is a newcomer to me... ESPN had picked up poker and took it to another level by the time Chris Moneymaker won the tournament.. ESPN accelerated popularity of Poker... The World Series of Poker and World Poker Tour has been the greatest instrument in promoting poker... Great poker commentary from Mike Sexton and Vince Van Patten. Other great players, Doyle and others too many to list, took poker into the stratosphere... Chris Moneymaker has looked beaten down and tired for a number of years.. It's bad that he left his wife for poker, that didn't seem like a good decision.. I have enjoyed poker from the early 90's , I'd like to play more often..

The part about my boy Ethan winning the $25k and the faith in himself that he had along with Berkeys wisdom about how life changing that is and the path for success he's setup for almost made me cry. Great production and cast! It is definitely nice to hear from well respected people in the industry in a more intimate capacity. I unfortunately felt that this documentary underemphasizes the risk of poker and overemphasizes/glorifies the rewards. If the goal is to expand the integrity of the game & to include more diverse groups of people, how is this accomplished by displaying such overt romanticism of poker? I think it’d be more interesting to know the struggles that these individuals faced and how they chose to overcome them so that newer people are not blindsided by the resilience needed to be successful.

Most of this is interesting and I enjoyed it. I would recommend it to friends new to the game. I did not get the whole "above the felt team" concept since the players seemed pretty random and the "heads up" and "team chemistry" parts were boring.

Nice job in differentiating Poker from Casino gaming/ true gambling; poker is a game of Skill influenced by Chance, or Luck-- making it the perfect metaphor for the American... I used to play sng as my main game. KJs is a shove either 15 or 20bb deep. Don’t remember exactly. I only remember because I was learning what bluffs you shove with, for fold equity. But I’m pretty sure that’s icm approved shove.
