One day Carlitos grew up and taught Spanish on KZbin.

It was probably the first video I've seen on this channel. Now after seeing all of the superbeginner videos I must say this time it was much easier to watch it cause much more words just felt familiar. Ahora beginner nivel. ¡Vamos!

How are you progressing now 1 year after finishing superbeginner? I've about 20 or videos left myself before moving onto to beginner.
@mefju262 жыл бұрын
@@timothymurray1236 Well, right now I would say I'm at the intermediate level and I can pretty much enjoy the language even though there is still a lot more Spanish to acquire. It’s all about input! :D Dreaming Spanish can be really all you need, but if you want another resource I can recommend you Español con Juan as content made for people who learn Spanish (I really enjoy his podcast). Apart from that I didn’t really focus on another channels for learners. These two were sufficient for me and they don’t focus on grammar like a lot of others on YT. The rest was just looking for stuff made for natives that I could listen to without feeling discouraged. I can recommend f.e. Linguriosa (curiosities about Spanish language), Jaime Altozano (music related stuff) and a podcast Caso 63 (short, tv series-ish about traveling in time). Basically as long as the content is keeping you interested you will learn. What I’d also want to add is that waiting for speaking is worth it. I went slightly against the Pablo's recommendation and out of curiosity once in every month I went on discord to talk to people and see how much I can already say. First couple of months were a disaster and trying to speak at that level wasn't a pleasure at all (I can’t understand people praising the “Speaking from day 1” approach). But every month I could really see that my speaking improves drastically only by listening to Spanish! I'd say that after around 10 or 11 months of learning when I felt I am ready to speak more regularly so I started to talk like once a week (or two weeks) on Discord and Italki. I have heard a couple of times that I speak well for the amount of time I'm learning, so I'd just like to believe it’s true :D. It's possible I should've waited a bit more before speaking to have even better results, but I don't regret it. I had some amazing conversations that just motivated me even more to keep learning. After all languages are created to communicate with people. Buena suerte y que sigas disfrutando de tu tiempo con el español ;)

@@mefju26 thanks for the reply, that's excellent to hear and congrats. I'm subscribed to Spanish with Juan but feel its just beyond my level right now. I'll come back to it once I start making progress with Pablos beginner level videos. Thanks

Are you using the pure input method that Pablo advocates or is Dreaming Spanish just one part?
@mefju262 жыл бұрын
@@JBfan88 99% input, 1% grammar. Learning through input is fun and it’s working. Sometimes you are just curious about a grammar topic though. Then watching a video about it in a target language won’t do any harm I think.

The only thing missing for me are subtitles. I would love to see how all the words, that I don't know are written. But I guess that would be too much work for just a couple words, since the automatic subtitles are getting most of them.
@DreamingSpanish3 жыл бұрын
Yes, writing and syncing subtitles takes so much time that I could only make 1/3 the amount of content I currently make.
