Since it first hit the air waves way back in 1977, “ Dreams” has remained in my personal top ten songs; songs that always get turned up when they come up on my car radio, songs I discover I’m singing to myself and, now days asking “Alexa” to play. I truly never thought I’d like any kind of cover, but this exquisite example has proven me wrong. Though the instrumentation compared to Fleetwood Mac’s original version is about as minimal as can be and it completely lacks drums and bass which are a huge force in the original, the ingenious intricate simplicity of two ukuleles is both understated and spellbinding at the same time ..... And they showcase this singers wonderful voice and phrasing. Superb !!

I’ve heard a million covers of this song. But gosh. This, hands down, is my favorite. You don’t really listen to how sacred and soft the lyrics are, until it’s slowed down and accompanied with an ukulele and Lily’s voice.

Lily Kershaw has one of the most exquisite, ethereal voices I’ve ever heard. I listen to her Ring of Fire cover with Scary Pockets at least once a day and this cover is equally impressive.

These are small guitars, not ukuleles. For what thats worth. Ukes are 4 strings, these are 6. Oh, and this cover is amazing. I had never really heard the lyrics properly, and they way she owned them, amazing. Really gets me good. 😉
