@@MidoriMushrooms Faux pas, which is defined as an embarassing act or remark, fits with the song. As for the creatures bit, I think you've just been hearing it wrong, which is ok because that seems to be a common error with lyric videos about this song. As for the source, look at the game. Mephiles tricks Silver by "preaching" to him that Sonic is the Iblis Trigger and will destroy the world, so in retrospect and realising his mistake, Silver considers Mephiles to be a "preacher with lies". It fits more with the song than a random bit about creatures. Creatures aren't really focused on at any point during Silver's story, and in the end, his main goal is taking out the Iblis Trigger, so he probably doesn't care much about random creatures.

I honestly enjoy Silver. I mean, his powers are unique, and his character is interesting to me. Maybe he was easily manipulated by Mephiles, but in all honesty, he didn't really have a choice, even if he knew. Why wouldn't he jump at the chance to save his world, fighting against a enemy that no matter how hard he fights, always keeps coming back? Growing up in a place of tension and sorrow, and still holding his head up high. He's a good man, through and through, he's not stupid, just ignorant and running with what has been given to him. Silver is a much stronger character than people credit him for.

The writers Ken Pontac and Warren Graff were just absolutely terrible. Thankfully, they're finally gone. We might get better use of Silver going forward, and hopefully a version of Tails that isn't a complete coward. On the bright side, Silver has been getting some much deserved attention in the IDW sonic comics, being an integral part of both the First and Metal Virus sagas. Btw, isn't it weird that Sega has had two terrible writers named Ken, with the initials of K.P. I mean Pontac isn't nearly as bad as Penders was, but its still weird.

Honestly, I like how they are handling SIlver after his debut. He just became this Timecop character, trying to prevent bad futures (e.g. in Rivals) and he has a more lovable personality now. And by broken, I of course mean the glitches, but the story seems to lose me in a few places as well. It being closed out by being deleted doesn't exactly help, mostly because Elise remembers someone that she will never meet, because they stopped it by happening by deleting Iblis from ever existing and thus undid the story and all memories (don't help that 06 was also thus removed from the official timeline), by feeling his slipstream? I know it's supposed to be a sentimental thing, but if everyone purged this game from their memories (ironic) what was the point and how is it supposed to make sense?

When the world has past the point of being able to be fixed he is born for the purpose of making the future never happen, thus Silver never being born. His life is a perpetual contradiction. that being said, When the timeline was reset to the point to goes to the festival, Silver shouldnt have been born and shouldnt exist. but i have one of two theories. 1.for some reason, Something disconnected Silver from the main flow of time. therefore he is not affected by any changes to time, quite possibly meaning that he cannot be erased from time. which is proven that he is still here every time there is a crisis. and will mean that he might biologically not have any parents matching his genes to an extent. but the bigger thing is that even if solaris is erased, he wasnt. 2. (now this is a stretch so be ready) When Silver was given access to his Superform thanks to sonic, the chaos energy could've somehow evoked the master emerald in the suspended time zone. the master emerald was crafted to have literal limitless energy, possibly matching to a black hole if its infinite. meaning the master emerald somehow strengthened Silvers hold on reality since he could disappear, and in his superform, he can disappear if he maintains it without rings. its possible that he also remembers bits and pieces of the timeline altogether. but there is an issue with this is that the chaos emeralds may have a connection to the master emerald, but not to that extent to transfer power from it to one individual. still, there could be many reasons, but time is a confusing topic

Not necessarily. Blaze for instance was sent to a different dimension in this game and the first time we meet blaze is in a different dimension and every time prior. While the story did get reset, chaos emeralds can fuck with time and space. He comes from the future because something the chaos emeralds are involved with fucked up the timeline. In the IDW comics (spoilers ahead) he's the sole reason they succeeded because they failed without him once already which caused him to come back to their time.

@@operator_ace8502 I always had the thought that Silver was literally the earth made flesh to save itself, whenever the earth is unable to fix itself he is born to resolve the issue or enable the issue to be resolved. I think Silver is an independent form of energy similar to the chaos emeralds but a different entity, that energy is the earth's energy and it remains lingering in the world eternally, when that energy is threatened by eldridge beings or eggman himself for a long enough time, I.e. Sonic not handling it, the energy collects itself and forms into Silver who then acts as the shield and sword.

I love all the correlations people have with this song and Silver. Its very clear to see how much this song opens a door to understanding his character. But I love to dig a little deeper and put myself in Silvers shoes. Maybe I can't relate to a fantastical magical setting but one grounded in reality. Lets talk about what an Absolution is, its a formal release from guilt, obligation, or punishment. The older I got the more I realized that trauma exists in many of us. One of the most traumatic experiences i've had was losing a friend to suicide. "And every night, I lay awake , I find the conclusion And every night, it just stays the same in my dream of absolution" After my friends passing, I had gotten my self stuck in a loop of thoughts and dreams of "what ifs". I held an immense amount of guilt for something that was just out of my hands. And I vowed from that day forward that I wouldn't let that happen to anyone I cared for. I was one of those people who put aside their own comfort to try and achieve happiness for others. "And I might know of our future, But then you still control the past" This is something that people can still relate to. Although we cannot change what happened in our past. The people who had influence of it can still hold control over our actions today. Unless we choose to look at that past differently. Those people will still make up the history of your life but only you have the power to seek out a better future. And The older i got the more I realized that sacrificing my own happiness for others only caused me to sink into my own depression. You cannot force a person to be happy, only the individual can make themselves happy. What is happiness? Its something different for everyone its something you find within yourself. "happiness lies in misery" When I began to focus on myself. (even if that meant finally ridding myself of people i was friends with for years) the more I was able to give to others and make a true impact on their lives. People who were receptive and open to change. Your dreams of an absolution can come true.

I’ve never played this game, but I’ve heard all the buzz about it. Despite how much hate this game gets, we got a lovely character and otherworldly accompanying track out of it: Silver The Hedgehog and Dreams Of An Absolution. Honestly, I love this song with a passion. I like listening to it the most late at night, when it’s pitch black outside. It really sets a mood. It’s such a good character theme. Silver was so mysterious when we first saw him in trailers and there was a little bit of fear of him being another serious edgy character; an assassin from an apocalyptic future. and then you watch his story unfold and hear his theme which sounds so calming/hopeful. He isn't an idiot or gullible as knuckles (not a diss). He was desperate even if it was the literal devil tempting him to commit a wrongful act. You also had to keep in mind he's also a 14 year old kid so it's no wonder he'd shoot first and ask questions later. What he's lacking (or rather his flaw) is his sense of direction. blaze even says that he's naive, and even aimless when alone. Silver himself admits this to her. He does however carry a strong sense of justice. And once he's pointed the right direction he will follow through. Shadow saw this in silver that he meant well and its a shame these two don't interact at all because they'd have a really cool mentor/apprentice relationship. I like how he tries to learn a lesson of if killing one person to save countless others was right or wrong despite it being in a loaded ethical question in a sonic game of all things. This comes back in the end though because he truly loves his friend and sister-in-arms. I do wish they had one or two moments together to make us care even more. Maybe after their meet up in soleana he tells her how fascinating the past is, they go shopping and have an ice cream together. or after white acropolis silver challenges her to a little snow ball fight. Obviously it'd be a little tonal shift since these two are serious and time is of the essence but these are just suggestions. And when you stop and think? Silver see's the most death out of all the characters. He's most likely have seen people die in his future, he's seen the duke die, he saw Elise die, he saw Blaze...well, vanish, and he even saw a dead sonic. and yet despite of all this? He still remains hopeful. He still refuses to give up. He refuses to wallow in despair and anguish. What a little ball of sunshine.

I think a lot of the issues with the game was Auto-Save and the Glitches, although they couldn't necessarily fix that. The consoles the game released on didn't have very great memory, so SEGA™ was very limited on what they could do to make the game work. They had so many details added into the game that even for a cutscene that only lasted a second, it needed a minute long loading screen. This also goes with all these glitches, such as getting stuck on walls, between walls, clipping through objects, etc, because there wasn't the space to edit the game and fix these issues. Now I understand, "Well, the plot was really strange, and Elise was a HUGE problem." I think if they didn't have the whole "Hedgehog to Human Love Interest" the game would have been a bit better. And for those who think Silver is a foolish hedgehog with no common sense, not saying you do, he was just trying his hardest to do what was right, and he watched his world fall apart, so he would do anything to stay positive and fix everything. It's really a shame that the game got so much hate, and I hope people see that if you put aside all the issues I listed, it's overall a decent game. I've actually never played and I'm hoping to get it soon, so all that info is based on what I've seen, so if there are a few inaccurate things, please explain them to me. I love this song! it's perfect for Silver and is still amazing after so many years! Silver was a fine new character to the Sonic universe, despite the state of Sonic '06, where he first appeared. His backstory of a doomed future where all is hopeless and he seeks salvation for the world is great and that story should be explored more in depth. Silver is a good boy and he deserves his own game.
