In a violent, futuristic city where the police have the authority to act as judge, jury and executioner, a cop teams with a trainee to take down a gang that deals the reality-altering drug, SLO-MO.

The movie is much better than what this trailer leads the audience to think!

I definitely preferred this version. Partly, that's due to me being a fan of the original comic, which the last film wasn't that great an adaptation of. It got the look of Mega-City 1 right, but not the tone or, most importantly, the characters. Urban's a better actor than Stallone because he had the helmet on his head the whole time and made it work, using only his mouth and his voice, which I thought was great. It was also a great tribute to hardcore scifi action movies of the late 80s, too.

karl urban is an amazing actor i love his films and now that hes playing DREDD..... wow i have never been this excited before one for the film and two for karl urban hes mega bad ass

I've heard about that. Think I do need to watch it in full, that sounds brilliant. I have seen Urban taking the piss out of Stallone and doing an impression of "I'M THE LEUR!" though. That, more than anything else I've seen, tells me he's as much of a fanboy as we are! XD Speaking of: how awesome is Urban's proper line of "I'm the law" in the trailer? Sends shivers down my spine every time!

This is exactly the original sources of Judge Dredd should be. It would not have done justice if this is PG13 or like Stallone's original movie in which he had butcher the original sources. The same team in which created the Killing Joke(The origin of the of the Joker by Alan Moore and Brian Bolland) provided some of the best comic book story to Judge Dredd. It is a grime story unlike the original. The success of Dark Knight have give rise to Judge Dredd, cannot wait to see this film.

To be fair, there were a lot of references made in the last film. True, references in name only, (like Griffin being more like Judge Cal,) but still. However, speaking of Wagner, his approval of this film has made me more excited for the film than anything. This is gonna be awesome!

Your thinking of The Raid; Redemption that's set in Indonesia. However this movie Dredd was filmed about 5 months before that was made so it's more likely The Raid took the idea from Dredd.

Dredd and Rico should have been played by the same person, I mean if you have the same D.N.A then you would be identical twins right? I remember that really bugged me at the time.

True, mean machine was awesome and done to perfection but Rico and Fergee were nothing less than a joke. Check out the Dredd interviews at Comicon if you havn't already, it's on here. When Karl Urban was asked wether or not he'd watch the film if he weren't in it he replied ''Hell yeah!'' and you can just tell instinctively that he meant it and wasn't just saying it as if he had to

Not as interesting as the old Judge Dredd.. Sly and Diane laine , that was better acting ! Rico much better villain.. To dark I think they stole a lot of this from my favorite movie Blade Runner.!! That was a movie..
