This is really great Dr Ekberg ! I always though Honey was pretty good, but when you think about it, eating whole foods such as an apple instead of apple juice as an example, Nature never inteded for us to consume it as juice, with that in mind, honey is protected by bees and it would be safe to say that people would be less likley to consume honey if they had to get stung in the process. Adding to that Manuka honey is meant to be good for H.Pylori. which popped up in an occult in my early 20's Obviously with modern convenience and human tools we have got around being stung, but still makes you think... Btw, what is the smart board/ glass screen you use? that's awesome.

Honey is my main go to for any cuts, burns and wounds. So many never believed me on how much faster it heals vs anything man made. One day I was mixing some lye to clean a clogged sink. I mixed it to fast with water and it instantly shot out of the large cup all over my chest creating silver dollar and quarter sized boils on my chest and stomach. As a test to prove all my naysayers wrong. I put honey on my right side and Neosporin on my left and bandaged it up. The next day the honey side was like 50% better looking than the left. In just 3-4 days the right side was almost totally healed while the left still looked the same as the day it happened. Same with cuts and so on.

There's not proof yet that fructose causes NAFLD. If you look at NIH research is says "How high fructose intake MAY trigger fatty liver disease". But food is complex and certainly sugar from honey gets conflated with processed foods and artificial sweeteners like high fructose corn syrup. I think it's irresponsible for Dr. Ekberg to say that fructose from honey CAUSES NAFLD.

As a beekeeper I recommend to buy your honey from your local farmers market. Never from Costco or other grocers as they are all heated and filtered. Do not worry about crystallization of your pure honey. One teaspoon per day should be the max.

I have honey drizzled on my breakfast, and then a teaspoon in each of my 2 cups of tea in the evenings (green tea and chammomile tea) - (almost) every day! Sometimes I wonder if I'm having too much but I figured it can't hurt too much. Mind you, it is supermarket grade honey, but it says it's 'pure'. (I'm in Australia) 😋🥰❤🐝🐝🐝

20 years ago i was diagnosed with fibromyalgia, RA and lupus. I was recommended pain medication which i refused. I did my research and although i did not have too many bad eating habits, i changed my entire diet. I quit sugar, pasta, processed food, no more sodas, coffee, dely products and whole milk. I started eating raw vegetables and fruits with antioxidants, i started having honey every day and lemonades during the day. I am now 62 years old and healthy like when i was 25. I see sugar and processed foods as a number one enemy and i defeated them by saying "no more!"

I'm 62, have not seen a doctor in over 30 years, the last person guessed my age at 45. Start the day with 2 strong cups of organic coffee with organic full fat cream. My diet is mostly meat, butter, eggs, kefir, cheese, cream, seafood, lemon, a small bit of organic 90% dark chocolate, wild blueberries I pick in our forest, and some honey. Raw vegetables hurt my stomach and give me joint pains.

We have been a beekeepers for the past 30 years, having them as pets 😉 They are the best! They don't ask for much, but give a lot!! 2-3 beehives produce enough honey for the family, relatives and friends! We have never sold any, but share and gift our loved ones with it, because we have plenty. Even our dog loves honey!! The only heartbreaking thing is when the neighbours spray their trees with the poison - it kills a lot of our bees as well. The ignorance of people is astounding! We have given honey to the neighbours in the past, but they continue to spray, because of the law, they say... Even in the years, when all the bees are killed, we buy the new nucs (nucleus hives) to start over! The cost is $250 now and going up, because the bees are slowly disappearing from the planet, due to the extermination by sprays and toxicity in the environment. The most dangerous predator in nature is a human, indeed.

I used honey topically on a very bad burn from a steam iron transfering heat on metal to my leg in 2020 (I brand-ironed myself!). The internet led me to this remedy - it was hard to be seen in urgent care due to the pandemic, so I took a chance. The 8 inch area completely healed - it was stunning - I have zero scars and plenty of photos to prove it. Honey is mind-blowing!

I truly think people keep bees for the right reasons and I personally eat honey and I love the fresh day old stuff. But bees from man made hives can outcompete local pollinators including wild bees, bumblebees, butterflies and other insects. I kind of intuitively feel from a distance that beekeepers are praising each other and their operation as holy, and the fact that it can be a net negative for wildlife is not discussed. With that said. I think beekeeping is a genius invention, but it needs to be kept to a maximum amount of beekeepers for any given area. In some areas, 0. It's a common misconception that bees need saving, when in fact, it's the wild bees that needs to be saved.

Also a beekeeper (57) yo here and I realized that I was prediabetic a few years after starting to have bees. I am active and we grow most of what we eat. We buy our meat and eggs from a neighbour. Small free range, grass fed and free of unnecessary medications. We live in a very rural area so we have a lot of fresh air, low pollution and only 1-2 restaurants anywhere close by. Honey is great but please be cautious about how much honey you consume. I sell to some elderly neighbours and despite wanting to sell it I always advise them to eat it in moderation. This video seems to resonate well with my own experience. *i forgot. I do believe honey is a good source of Boron. My veterinarian gave my cat boron supplements for her arthritis. Beeks are always bragging they don’t get arthritis because of the numerous bee stings but I actually wonder if it is related to boron.

An excellent video Dr. Sten. Especially glad you mentioned not heating honey, so having it raw and unfiltered. It's something very few people know about, but so important. It's also worth mentioned that the bulk of the honey sold in supermarkets, etc., in the US is highly adulterated, ultra-filtered, ultra-heated, and basically toxic. It's well documented, for those who want to look into it. Try to get your honey from a local bee keeper if you can (at a farmer's market, for example), or from a local health food store.

30-35 years ago growing in Bulgaria our family kept bees. Back the practically everyone had a small plot of land (~ 600 sq.m.) and grew their own fruits, canned them (with sugar) and also most of the vegetables. If you didn't grow it and you didn't can it, you simply didn't eat it. Grocery stores were for things like bread, mayonnaise, salami, unpasteurized dairy (milk, cheese and yogurt), fresh beer (that would go bad in 3 days), etc. . So honey and bee clay (propólis) - we had 3 - 5 hives on that plot of land, and would use honey sparingly - a teaspoon or two one or twice a week. Usually with yogurt. But propolis tincture was helpful for cuts and bruises and even for gum inflammation. Honey was in clay or glass jars, crystallized and hard. Back then people really had no allergies. Fast forward 10-15 years western lifestyle of processed food and chemical medicine moved in - cancer, heart disease, circulation diseases, diabetics and allergies were 20-30 times more. I remember hearing of some people who recommended frail pregnant women to eat honey, but one that was collected about 6 months prior.

Using information from your channel and from some others I changed my lifestyle from eating candy and everything sugar and chips and lots of carbohydrates to eating meat and vegetables and fruit. I eliminated sugar carbs and processed foods. It took my body a while to get used to it mainly because my conversion to fats instead of sugar indicated I did have insulin resistance. It's been about 2 months of no sugar and carbs. I will correct that I've had a small amount of ketchup and I've had bananas. I went from 214 lb to 197 pounds. In the beginning my energy was zapped after about 4 days of fasting but I slowly started burning fat for energy and now I don't have any energy issues without the sugar and carbs. One has to do this to understand it. I thank you for your videos and for your excellent way of teaching. I'm in my '70s and never thought I could stop the sugar addiction.

There is a big difference between honey and raw honey, and even organic honey - meaning raw honey that hasn't be collected within 20 or so Km of glyphosate spraying. So when you say "honey" , distinguishing between these 3 is critical. likewise corn and soy free chickens' eggs, wild vs farmed fish, grass fed pasture raised cows vs barn grain fed cows.

Honey production is a thin ice topic for USA market. Same time not many people understand what word ORGANIC nowadays means and what glyphosate is. Such knowledge and understanding require education and time to absorb at least basic info and people are lazy in their vast majority. Some say they don;t have time to learn. That is why, for example, commercial collection of bee propolis is prohibited in USA. I know why, but not many want to delve into such knowledge and continue buying "made in USA" propolis tinctures, sprays made from China originated raw material. Have you ever been to China checking out how they make propolis ? I did . You don't want to know.

(Still working I love my job). Beekeeping is hard physical work and often long hours so from that aspect a healthy lifestyle. However honey has always been accessible and I have eaten a lot of it, mostly pure and unfiltered, often by sticking my finger in a honeycomb while working a hive so the genuine natural product. Around 10 years ago I was diagnosed with pre diabetes, and now have full blown type 2 diabetes. Coincidence? No idea. But anecdotally anyhow, honey has not prevented me from getting diabetes.

Speaking about honey. It came to mind Bee Pollen. That is from 15 to 50 per cent sugar depending on the flowers the bees get it from. When i was in my 30s i started using bee pollen 1 teaspoon per day. Shortly after that my wife got pregnant. I paid no attention to the pollen having anything to do with that. But at that time i was in business breeding parrots and thought that pollen could be good for them as i was sure in the wild they got it in their diet. Within only a couple weeks my egg production increased about 50 percent. So i bought 50 pound drums of pollen from a bee guy. Started feeding them more of it. My egg production went through the roof. The problem was the hens would not come out of the nest boxes to mate with the males. So a lot of infertility. I had one African Grey hen that laid in one clutch 8 eggs. It was normal to lay only 2 at a time. All were not fertile. This made me think that my own son might be from my bee pollen ingesting. Soon after that my cousin talked to me about how many Dr he and his wife had gone to and none of them helped with their ability to have a child. All the money he wasted on doing so. He was about to look at adoption. I told him what have you got to lose a few dollars, buy some bee pollen and both of you take it 1 reaspoon a day. I think it was about 2 months later she was pregnant. They had twin boys. After that a frien of mine who was also in the bird business told me her daughter could not get pregnant. I told her about my cousin. She had her daughter and husband take the pollen. Then one day later she called me to thank me for the advise, as her daughter was now pregnant. Long story short something is in those flowers that makes a difference.

I’m an anecdote. Every morning I would sneeze for 1/2 straight without antihistamines. Allergy testing confirmed multiple environmental allergies. Allergy shots worked after a couple years and no more antihistamines needed. Allergy shots stopped due to a move. Morning sneezing started again about 5 years later. After researching allergy shots for another round, I learnt that allergy shots could be tailored from a blood test. Also allergy pills, but they take longer to work. So after a couple years of a teaspoon every night my allergies are gone. In theory, the bees mingle with allergens, and the traces in honey are like an allergy pill.

@@acement1 low level exposure to allergens helps the immune system. This has been shown with peanut allergy for example. Bees mingle with the pollen from flowers that are known to cause allergic reactions. Low levels get into the honey. Bees actually produce three things. Honey, proplis and pollen. I use to keep bees and in some of the comb you'll find pollen instead of honey. Mostly I found the proplis used as you called it spackel or glue used to fill holes or sometimes I'd find the hive lid glued on so solidly that it was almost impossible to remove as one piece. I'll leave out the uses of pollen for now, too much to write here. Yes honey is a very strong antibacterial, I've personally stopped two infections with honey, comfrey and vitamin E in liquid form applied as a compress. In both cases the doctors were at wits end and had tried all they knew and the next step was amputation which is of course why I was allowed to try a last thing, and it worked. Strange how poor the ability of many folks is to do actual research and at least question things instead of just believing everything they see on the net.

Hi, I had a baby 8 months ago. With my first baby I lost the weight super quick (was vegan, still fasted) Kept it off, everyone said I was too skinny, but I lost more weight when I started eating meat for the first time in 17 years, from cutting down on carbs, and I worked out all the time, loved fasting. I went from 127 lbs to 190 during my pregnancy, so at 5'8 that's from a size 2 to size 12-14. I got down to 160 and stayed there til now. I couldn't lose any more weight, even though I have been hiking every day. Since watching your videos I have found the strength to give up grains and sugars almost completely, but I still have raw honey and raw milk in my coffee every morning. As soon as I gave up that stuff I got a fever (from my baby, not out of nowhere) but got really sick. Feels like I needed to have a restart for my system, today I'm starting with bone/miso broth and have no appetite after fever for 12 hours. I noticed with the extra carbs and sugars I was eating, not only did I put on weight, but I looked older, saggy skin etc. It's crazy how fast it changed, even though I had been such a health freak. Happy to be on a different track, thank you for your vids.

I would add that there are different kinds of honey for different health problems, for example: - heather honey is good for prostate, kidneys and digestion system - acacia honey is good for stomach ulcers - lime honey is good for anxiety and helps with sleeping, it also helps lungs - honeydew honey is good for getting rid of toxins in your body (it was given as a remedy to the coal miners), it also increases the healing of muscles. source: Polish traditional-natural medicine, trust me sir.

We used to have horses, and I remember using honey on any wounds they had and it worked better than anything to heal rapidly. My friend used it for a very serious injury on one of her horses that left open flesh exposed and at first we wrapped it with the medications given by the vet but it wasn't really healing well at all and then we went for the honey on the open wound and it healed with remarkable speed! These are just a few of many examples of honey healing open wounds and infections. I could go on.

After I went through chemotherapy, my insides were a train wreck. There was no answer or cure for something similar to IBS. I struggled with anything when I could not eat any vegetables because it was something that went right through me no matter which type of vegetable it was. I started taking a spoonful of honey every morning and have been doing it now for almost 2 months and everything has slowed down to normal. I did not put two and two together with the honey until after I saw your video and many others which I researched. I am a lifelong asthmatic, and I noticed my asthma symptoms have reduced considerably. I had a long list of things that could not eat before My honey journey had begun.. The list has been shortened quite a bit. I will continue to consume raw honey every morning for the rest of my life the benefits are quite revealing. There was nothing else that worked until I started taking the honey every morning and then slowly everything started to change.

Hello Dr. Ekberg! Thank you for this great video! I'm following you for couple of years now and I've changed a lot of my bad habits regarding nutrition and feel a lot better (because your materials make so much sense, it's easy to digest and it's very well explained). It's my first time I'm writing on your channel and I wanted to know that you have my gratitude for all of your work Here in South-Eastern Europe (Romania, Bulgaria, Greece) the consumption of honey and others bees byproducts (like propolis that you had mentioned) it's, somehow, a part of our culture. We have a lot of beekeepers and a lot of good quality honey and we also consume a lot of other bees byproducts like: raw pollen (we keep the pollen in the freezer as soon as it's collected), mother bee milk, propolis (as a natural antibiotic) and pasture (a kind of fermented pollen). We were taught that these products possess huge both nutritious and curatives virtues. So, me and I think other follower, we'll be really interested in a video that will cover the science and the true facts about these bees byproducts nutritious and/or curative values. Thank you once again for your work! You make a great job in the field of human healthcare and body process comprehension!

What about the bee venom? It cured my very sore elbow .Doctors here in New Zealand couldn't understand why it became so inflammed. My bee-keeper friend suggested a bee sting. I was horrified. He said that just slightly press the bee to my elbow area and don't let a whole amount of venum in the bee sac to be released into my body. To my huge surprise in a 3 days time all the swell, terrific pain was gone. (I took antihistamin tablets when the bee was applied though)).
@andyamour
@andyamour 5 ай бұрын
@@MaryPoppins-tu1ms Yes, I've heard about therapies with bee venom too, though you have to be careful with a possible allergic reaction (I think that's why you took antihistamin). So, yes, we may conclude that all that comes from the bees is beneficial for us to some extent, that's why I've proposed a video with the curative and nutritious virtues of all the others bee byproducts besides honey.

100% agree with all you have said. Your last slide is me. Iam a recovered type 2 diabetic and I am an apiarist. I dont eat a heap of honey and do not promote honey as the best thing to eat, however, I believe it does help with local pollen allergies. Honey as you may be aware is a mix of Glucose and Fructose, depending on the flowers harvested by the bees. The honey will "candy" quicker if it is higher in Glucose and slower if higher in Fructose. Thank you for your videos...much appreciated.

I use local honey in my tea and when I bake. Honey does not taste as sweet as white processed sugar but we don't like overly or very sweet foods so honey works out great for baking. You hear people say oh, if you use honey you'll have to use more to get the same sweetness, well, that may be true but I don't miss (or want) that overly sweet taste and honey gives just the right balance. Sometimes I think it would be such a health benefit if people could re-train their taste buds, sugar seems to have some kind of addictive property of 'more is better.' Always enjoy your videos, keep it up!

I've been taking ACV with EVOO in an attempt to overcome years of broken sleep that started in the Covid era, this has been a great help but recently I've moved from organic supermarket honey to that of a local producer and it's a honey that's enriched with pollen and oh man, first taste of this was a died and gone to heaven moment. For me personally, I've found that adding this piece into the jigsaw has been a game changer, I sleep soundly right through now.

About the Allergies: To make it work, I heard you should only use LOCAL produced honey, which makes sense, since these are what you are exposed to locally and within the honey including the local pollens, this is what you need to build resistance against.
