Have pretty much eaten at least 2 eggs every morning since I’ve been an adult. I am now 76. When I was 22, I started working in a cardiac cath lab and became very aware of all the low fat, high carb recommendations being touted back then. Somehow, it both made sense to me - and didn’t. Both sides of my family were farmers. They ate a lot of eggs and meat, drank milk fresh from the cow and had vegetables from the garden. Yes, they also ate bread to soak up the juices from the meat and fried eggs. Fats were bacon grease and butter. I’ve made a graph of these people - chiefly my grandparents and their offspring. Those that stayed longest on the farm and were least affected by the depression and world wars, lived well into their 90’s. Those that moved into the city and were more affected by environmental issues, the depression, war, personal vices like smoking or alcohol abuse … had shorter lifespans, alcohol abuse taking my uncle at age 60. If eggs, and even high cholesterol, are so bad for you, why were there so many examples, 18 of 30 in my family alone, healthy and happy to such great ages? Genes? I doubt it as others who were from the same stock but who had more adverse exposures and lifestyles, as it were, succumbed to various diseases at least a decade younger. As for me, I’ve decided to keep to my farm-based ancestors way of eating and barring any extreme affects of my environment, hope to set a new record for family longevity, which currently stands at 102 years. 😉

@veronicaheaney3464 Same here, my family longevity stands at 104, I had a great-grandmother, grandmother and her 3 brothers who all lived to 104. Large family still living and all those who’ve stayed on the farm are heading in that direction. I’ve always “known” intuitively that I will live to 104 as well. I’m carnivore 1 year (& ex keto 9 years) My brother is 2 years younger than me and is obese and eats junk, as does his wife who just had a stomach bypass to lose weight (against my pleas not to) and now eats like a rabbit. Salads & low or non-fat foods. Plus processed junk. Neither of them will have a long life. It’s sad, but they won’t listen. I have a very obese aunt who I tried to help her 20 years ago to turn her eating habits around - but she got offended & wouldn’t talk to me for ages. Now she says she wishes she’d listened to me. She’s in her 80’s and even though I tell her it’s never too late, she still won’t budge. I think she’s just too wedged into her old habits to see past it. So I just focus on me and my grown up daughter.

@@vitalishus I totally understand. Some in my family hastened their own end, but others were affected by circumstance. My dad was affected by his service in the Air Force during WWII. Even with all his war wounds, he managed to keep active till age 75. But he listened when told smoking was bad for him. Others, well they went the way of fast food, alcohol and other things that did them no good at all. My sister got angry with me when I suggested she take better care of herself. She died of brain cancer when she was 55. My brother, who was born with multiple heart defects and suffered from rheumatoid arthritis since he was 19, lived a simple but whole life till he was 70. I’m the only survivor in my immediate family. It’s not like I haven’t had health issues at times, but I worked through them and am the better for it. Carnivore is definitely helping, though I cycle it with keto. Wish I’d found it 20 years ago, even earlier. Perhaps those health issues would never have occurred.

Eggs are an AMAZING healthy food. My husband went for his blood work recently. I feed him a 2 to 3 egg omelets every single morning (14-21 eggs a week). We have our own chickens and they free range plus I supplement them with very healthy vegetables every single day. His "good" cholesterol (HDL) went way up and his "bad" cholesterol (LDL) went way down and the doctors were amazed! He is 68 years old and on zero medication.

@@veronicaheaney3464 Very similar, but larger and more rich (both in taste and nutrition). You're correct in that they're really expensive if purchased in a store though. I get mine from a lady at a local farm here in the Midwest for around $4/dozen, but when I lived in CA it was nearly $7 for 6. So really it just depends on your situation. Yes, she may feed them grain however, she also feeds them fruits and vegetables and they Peck bugs around the yard all summer long. So I opt for the non-organic free-range backyard chicken eggs any day over buying, even organic eggs when possible.

I sold and delivered BROWN eggs 🥚🥚🥚 for 40¢ per dozen in 1972 as a kid. Even back then I got complaints about my eggs being spoiled. You cannot please everybody. I bet I'd have takers today who would not complain because of THAT price. They'd simply discard the rotten eggs and eat the rest. A bag of Ralston Purina Layena in those days went for $8 per 40 lb bag.

Eggs are amazing. Did you know that the yolk is designed to have the complete range of nutrients to grow a baby chick. The white, however, contains almost no nutrients but, instead, contains fungicides and antibacterial protein agents, its sole job is to protect the egg yolk and baby chick! It's one of the reasons (other than egg products being used in vaccines) some people react to egg whites but rarely the yolks.

Within 3 months: 60lbs lost, 260lbs to 200lbs, blood pressure now normal, face not puffy, no spots, no back pain, no brain fog, never tired, asthma gone into remission, following a Keto diet with Intermittent fasting. If you want any advice, just strictly limit carbs don't eat bread, rice, pasta, cereal, sandwiches, microwave meals, avoid ultra processed foods and seed oils, just eat real food: meat, veg, eggs, dairy and add healthy oils like extra virgin olive oil and nuts to increase satiety and train body to burn fat. While still avoiding non-keto friendly veg, basically eat things that were alive or came out of the ground. Ultra processed food is none of these.

Now I eat 3 eggs scrambled every day with 2 tablespoons of extra virgin coconut oil mixed in, plus a rasher of English back bacon. @@differenttakethanmost yes! And bloods are perfect. There is a study in men in China where they were given up to 36 eggs per day and they were perfectly healthy, no adverse affects. Our reasons are mainly ease of cooking, independence and budget (my son can come in after school and boil up 8 -10 eggs for his dinner). We all eat between 4-8 eggs for breakfast (no carbs!!) I have the most perfect bloods as I do more strict keto and the rest of the family do strict keto in the morning but then eat carbs if they want in the evening so my triglyceride to HDL ration is 0.423 (I’m in Ireland so I’m not sure how that translates in US) which is almost perfect. My A1C is excellent. All my 11 pages of blood work. I feel amazing. Son lost 53lbs and had no spots anymore, has his confidence and motivation back (he’s 17), younger son (15) eats 6 eggs per day, oldest daughter (16) said eating keto (eggs for breakfast x 5) has changed her life (she’s no longer cranky I can confirm!!) and younger daughter (11) who is the most “keto-resistant!” Eats 4 runny boiled eggs and begs me for them sometimes if she has eaten too many carbs and says she is happier! If she eats them in the evening she can have wholemeal toast. With real butter, but breakfast is strictly no carbs (unless it’s the weekend) as it maintains their energy and mood until mid-day (me too!) lovely even blood sugar!

@@differenttakethanmost yes 20 eggs! My husband ate 5 boiled eggs for breakfast this morning and took 6 fried eggs in a lunchbox with rocket leaves (arugala) butter and chopped red onion and chopped ginger for his lunch. My oldest son had 8 boiled eggs for breakfast this morning, normally he eats them without carbs but because it’s the weekend he also had a whole wheat skim bagel and real butter and coffee with cream (he lost 53lbs on keto last year), now he is perfect weight for 5’ 11”. Youngest son (15) ate 5 fried eggs with bacon for breakfast, this is his normal breakfast but today he also had a toasted bagel because it’s the weekend. Oldest daughter (16) had same but no bagel. Youngest daughter (11) had 3 runny boiled eggs and toast today. I had 3 boiled eggs and a bagel but I normally have a carb free metabolic fried egg meal with 6 eggs, and cruciferous vegetables, garlic, ginger, turmeric, cheese as I usually don’t eat until 1pm during the week. Today we had meatballs for lunch, two of the kids want rice, the rest of us no rice but alot of rocket (arugala) leaves. We’re not really “prescriptive” as in if someone has carbs there isn’t an alarm that goes off, keto is a general lifestyle we follow but not in a prescriptive way, otherwise there would be no fun! 🤩 next the evening meal will often be 5-8 boiled eggs for the boys and sometimes “snack” later on 4 more boiled eggs. It has to do with economics as well as independence. And it avoids the cereal boxes (which we have too sometimes!) but yes 20 eggs. Bloods on 4 of us have been taken, they are all perfect (mine being the MOST perfect as I am by far the strictest, and I do regular intermittent and prolonged fasting) my triglyceride to HDL ratio is fantastic. That’s a total of 16 days! How long can you keep eggs before they turn bad?

@@davidkennedy8929 Some days I eat 4 and occasionally 5. They are direct from the farm so are very fresh and I keep them in the fridge. The cartons I have in the fridge at the moment were bought on 22nd April and are use by 6th June but they will be eaten by 10th May. I do test each carton when I start a new batch by putting them in water but only rarely get one that is resting on the bottom but almost upright and then I eat that one next.

@@jobrown8146 don't keep them in the fridge: it is unneccesary and a waist of power.

@@davidkennedy8929 If eggs are outside, not wet, they could hold for 2 weeks... Once they get wet, you have to put in fridge

I've been eating three eggs a day for the past two years. My blood work comes out good everything. My total cholesterol number can seems to floats between 160 - 180. My triglyceride number dropped down to 47 with the last blood work. It was 90 the previous time. The difference is that I had started eating nuts a few months before my blood work. I was never into eating nuts before. I'm 70 years old. I've commented before that your diet cholesterol isn't your blood work number. But a few people will insist that someone will likely have lower cholesterol numbers that me if they don't eat eggs. I always get the feeling that to them the food pyramid is the best guide for eating. I've been avoiding wheat products so that means I don't touch any pre-made packaged foods. I will have a home made biscuit every other week. I noticed that even with sprouted breads products I can still gain weigh if I eat it everyday. I will gain three pounds in about 10 days. So now I'm at where I'm at with bread products.

Thank you Dr. Ekberg, I have been watching your video for something now and I was able to understand the real meaning of fasting with a healthy diet leading to a healthy lifestyle. I have lost a few pounds since I started, now I can fit in my dresses I couldn't wear for a long time all thanks to breaking your teachings to the level that everyone could grasp, no one explain it better than you do. No more inflammation, flu, or any other types of stuff due to eating bad food out there that I use to eat, I have never felt better like this. I will keep watching videos like this! Big thanks
