I have been consuming 2 tablespoons of EVOO on an empty stomach every morning for at least 3 years now and have enjoyed the many health benefits by doing so. Combining that with a Carnivore diet, I went from weighing 230 lbs at 5'7" to 160 lbs. I was pre-diabetic and hypertensive with developing arthritis. All have been eliminated. I'm a 68 year old man and have the appearance of a young 50 year old. I also have the energy to walk 3-4 miles a day and walk 1 round of golf per week. I have also used EVOO for wound and skin care. I was involved in a bad bicycle accident that left me with severe roadrash on my face. After applying EVOO directly on the wounds, I was left with complete healing and no noticeable scarring after 2 weeks! I am a staunch believer in the many health benefits EVOO provides 😊.

Dr.Berg I moved from the USA to Tuscany and I live 5 minutes from this farm San Michele a Torri. Even had the opportunity to experience picking grapes and take part in winemaking here some years back. I didnt realize how many beneficial properties a good quality extra virgin olive oil contained. Ive been following your channel for a few years now and thank you for all the great information.
@chrisnore51692 жыл бұрын
Dr Berg, here in Australia it is illegal to promote diluted olive oil as 'first cold pressed'. The fines are enormous. Cold pressed olive oil always comes in dark bottles because it is light sensitive. If the oil is in clear glass then you know that solvents have been used to extract the oil. The solvent is later removed from the oil before bottling.
@markkeeling76412 жыл бұрын
Dr Berg is losing his credibility. The same for the US. FDA demands ALL ingredients to be mentioned on ingredient label. My olive oil lists "cold pressed olives" so I don't know what bottle of olive oil he has picked up and saw the ingredients which mentioned anything else besides olive oil. Seems with that bold statement he made, he would have taken a picture of said bottles or bought them himself to make this video and showed the viewers, then took his receipt and returned them. He was bold to make this video with NO PROOF of said bottles. And we're supposed to take his word for it? Um, no.

My granddaddy who was Russian/Ukrainian used to love to eat a tin of sardines. He would chop up some raw garlic and spread it over the sardines. Then he would pour about a tablespoon of oil on the sardine mixture (sometimes olive oil but not always -- whatever was available), then eat it all with some bread. Often he would include a beer or a shot of cold Stoli (vodka) from the fridge. This was his favorite snack. He lived to be 93. He smoked heavy until his late 60s. Then gave it up on the advice of his doctor. We always believed gramps would have lived to be 100 or more if he didn't smoke for so many years. He loved to eat a lot of raw food, shrimp, fish, clams (raw or steamers), raw veggies from my grandma's garden. He loved his beef too, grilled but almost never fried. And everything with garlic and butter and black pepper. Used salt very little. Rarely ate sweets. Only had hbp right before he gave up the ciggies. Was never overweight, never had heart disease for majority of his life. Did develop a weak heart in the last year and a half of his life. I believe his diet had just as big an impact on his overall health positively as the smoking did negatively. So his healthy diet helped him to live longer than if he had just smoked and ate poorly.

Cretan Greeks used to eat about that much olive oil daily, that's why they lived beyond average, until they switched to a western diet during the last decades. I live in Greece and have my own olive grove where we my make our own olive oil. The extraction process is amazing and the genuine stuff looks a murky green at first, very potent smell and we eat it raw with oregano. One thing that must never be done, is to use olive oil for frying as it becomes extremely toxic. Right now it's olive picking season here and there are a lot of excellent products to choose from. Different areas have different taste in the oil. The best are from the South. Greeks cannot live without their olive oil. If you need more information let me know. You're the best Sir.

The amazing thing here in Europe is that when going to a large supermarket, you'll find 40-50 brands of olive oil, many of them organic, unfiltered, from either Italy, Greece or Spain. There's a handfull organic ones that I buy alternately, all having this grass-like, pepperish and bitter taste. I'm never sure how much I should really use, some people from Crete or Sicily consume up to 200-250 ml a day, which sounds incredibly much to me. And likely a bit too much, but the longevity in these regions is astounding.
