The second most common deficiency in the world, is Drs who understand the interactive nature of the human body. In Canada, before I abandoned the medical system, the rule for medical appointments was “only one symptom can be discussed per appointment”. If you had more than one symptom, you were quickly labeled a hypochondriac. Thanks to Dr. Berg, there are now 18 million people who are learning how little the legacy medical system knows about wellness. ❤️❤️❤️

About 10 years ago, I was feeling extremely fatigued and had other symptoms as well. I just felt awful. I finally talked myself into seeing a doctor. I was hesitant because I had already developed a negative view of the medical community by that time. After telling the doctor of my symptoms, she proceeded to prescribe me Zoloft. I was LIVID!!!! I was NOT depressed....I knew there was a root cause to how I was feeling. I asked her about tests that could be done to pinpoint whatever was going on. She said no! What a crappy doctor! I got online and found a functional medicine doctor (something I had wanted to do to begin with, but knew my insurance wouldn't cover it). This doctor spent an hour+ with me going over my full history, and then tested my blood for everything you could imagine...hormones, nutrients, etc. Guess what? I was ANEMIC!!! And very low in Vit. D. Those two deficiencies explained ALL of my symptoms. The ignorant first doctor could have easily tested my iron since the first symptom I mentioned to her was extreme fatigue. If I had trusted her, I would have taken a mind-altering DRUG and still would not have addressed my root cause. Shame on her!!!! I also learned (from the functional med doc) that my iron absorption was very low as well. Within ONE WEEK of taking iron (with C) and D3, I felt almost back to normal. We have to advocate for ourselves, even if it means paying out of pocket. Much of the medical community can no longer be trusted!

Excerpts: Symptoms of iron deficiency: • Hair loss • Arrhythmias • Fatigue and weakness • Dark circles under the eyes • Restless leg syndrome • Difficulty sleeping • Low cold tolerance • Split nails • Trouble concentrating • Fibromyalgia We need iron to help build hemoglobin and thyroid hormones, to make dopamine, and to keep nerve impulses working correctly. There are many different causes of iron deficiency. However, it's more common to have non-anemic iron deficiency than anemia. This means that the lack of iron isn't affecting the blood yet, but it's affecting other parts of the body. Iron deficiency causes: • Not consuming enough iron (animal products) • IBS • Inflammation • Stress or trauma • Bleeding or ulcers • Low hydrochloric acid • Menstruation • Gastric bypass surgery • Excessive exercise • Antacids • Fibroids • Pregnancy • Breastfeeding • Puberty • Eating disorders • Phytic acid • Tannins (tea, coffee, red wine) • Chocolate • Polyphenols (turmeric, red wine) • Polymorphism • Too much calcium or magnesium • Infection • Oxalates It's best to get your iron from your diet before jumping into taking an iron supplement. Foods rich in iron are red meat, liver, and shellfish. However, liver pills or spleen pills could be good supplement options. You also need to work towards identifying why you're iron deficient so that you can fix the root cause. If you have too much iron in your body, you can try natural remedies, including: • Distilled water • Turmeric • Cocoa bean • Black tea • A phytic acid supplement (IP6) • EDTA Thank you Dr Berg and meowgratulations to your channel with 18 million Catscribers! 😺👍

My wife has been diagnosed with arthritis for nearly as long as I have known her. She has scoliosis (pretty severe) and had corrective surgery with bars placed in her back. I guess the doctors just saw scoliosis on her paperwork and decided she had arthritis. We finally got a doctor who did the necessary bloodwork and found out she was severely low in many nutrients. It turns out her body simply doesn't hold onto minerals well at all. We bought her a great vitamin complex that (starting with vitamin D to allow absorption of other minerals) eliminated nearly all of her pain within a month. She sometimes has problems consistently taking it, but it's allowed her to begin considering her health on a larger scale. She has lost 40 lbs since she is now able to exercise and feel something other than pain. Sorry for the long comment, but vitamin deficiency is a serious problem and MD's do not consider it enough.

I started having medical issues in my early 20s. I’m now 37. I was told time and time again that it was in my head. I was told I was hypochondriac and also that I was mentally ill. This went on for YEARS. I knew something was medically wrong. Every test I got that got me my diagnosis was testing that I personally asked doctors for and I don’t believe I would have ever found out what was wrong if I wasn’t advocating for myself. I had extremely low ferritin of 2 and low iron of 10. My b12 was also low at 200. I found out after years of fatigue, hair loss, and extreme aches that I had pernicious anemia and iron deficiency anemia caused by autoimmune atrophic gastritis. It caused me to develop SIBO as well from achlorhydria from atrophic gastritis. It isn’t fun to live with but I’m sort of proud of myself for figuring it all out without little help from doctors. I have since been able to find great specialists for my rare conditions with these anemias.

Good for you for staying with it long enough to find out for your body what was wrong. BELIEVE WHAT YOUR BODY IS TELLING YOU!! I knew my Dad, Mom, and Sister had all been tested and treated for allergies. When I decided that I was probably not going to make it for another 5 years I decided to start with an allergist. I lived in a small town but we took the Houston paper, and lo and behold someone did a half page write up, with a picture, in the Sunday section. All I could deduce was that someone thought this Allergist walked on water!! I was able to get in to see Dr Jacob Siegel several months later and after tests found out I was more allergic that the rest of my family put together!! And then a woman I'd met in the allergist's office sent me a tape from a Doc in Birmingham where he speaking at a medical conference on Candida, so I also went to see him also. Both did their own research and published in NE Journal of Medicine and the Lancet. This was before Big Pharma had control of both publications. Dr Truss also published 2 books, The Missing Diagnosis, and The Missing Diagnosis II. I'm 80 now and still have a lot of health problems but I can beat them back with a low carb Rotary Diet. My husband had always told me my migraines were in my head, I told him he was right! lol But I learned to take my allergist's advice to listen to my body, it would tell me when something is wrong.

I saw doctors for years for the pain I was in. Excruciating pains throughout my body. I was treated like someone who wanted drugs. Although I never was prescribed it and never asked for painkillers. Finally I found a dr that encouraged me to take iron, vitamin D, and magnesium. I have been for about a year and most of my pain is now gone. If I stop taking vitamins, I will have an even worse flare up of pain. Vitamins. That's all I needed. Doctors who don't believe patients should find a new profession.

Medical gaslighting happens ALL THE TIME. I had hypercorticolism caused by an adrenal tumor. I saw over 10 doctors from cardiologists to endocrinologists to naturopaths, acupuncturists, general practitioners . My symptoms were so obviously Cushing’s syndrome but they didn’t believe I had any of those symptoms because I wasn’t “fat enough”. Since I had multiple symptoms I was labeled as a hypochondriac (it’s even in my medical file “hypochondriac”). Instead of believing me they decided to brush it off as anxiety since I was also diagnosed with anxiety 20 years ago. If anxiety or depression is in your file, they won’t give you the time of day. Anyways, it took 5 years and countless doctors for one of them to finally take me seriously and prescribe the right tests and imaging and BOOM there it was. A cortisol producing tumor that was slowly killing me. Moral of the story: I don’t trust “experts” or the medical system anymore.

My bf has cushing's syndrome. We figured it out just last year. He's always had a host of problems, which didn't "pin down" easily. Until we happened to look up cushing's syndrome. Perfect match of symptoms all the way down the list. Hypochondriacs are people who read about symptoms, and then imagine they have those symptoms. But many MANY people are simply trying to figure out what matches existing symptoms so they can hopefully fix it. And usually are very frustrated because they can't find a solid match in symptoms. There's a big difference.

@@jobob47 i lost all respect for the medical system when i watched a 'true story' movie called Lorenzo's Oil (1992 Susan Sarandon & Nick Nolte) - two parents found not just a treatment but a cure for a disease which our entire planet of medical experts couldn't even treat! i later learned just how criminal the global medical system is - Big Pharma deliberately refuses to research cures and will only treat symptoms, knowing full well that a healed person won't be coming back for more drugs! Big Pharma also 'bought and paid' for not only pollyticians, but also bought big medical institutions, thus modifying the way doctors are trained basically reducing them to legalized drug pushers further investigation brought me to the sad knowledge that the correct use of correctly prescribed Big Pharma medications outright kills approx 200k Americans every year (more than 5 million globally) and on top of that more than 150k are outright killed by human error in hospital - they do not die from their illness! the final nail in the coffin, so to speak, was the plannedemic and the shotclot! it seems there is no remedy for such a corrupted system

With more research I found out that green peas have a lot of zinc in them , so I eat a lot of green peas now and take a zinc supplement and that has eased my prostate problem GREATLY. The allopathic poison drug pushing doctor that wanted me to take too much aspirin DID NOT TELL ME ABOUT THAT. In medical school for the most part they don’t teach doctors about nutrition. Good food is actually medicine , and prescription meds are actually poison in my estimation.

One day I was working with a general oncologist and asked him if there're any suggestions he would give me. Also start taking milled Flaxseed/Linseed. My father was diagnosed with prostate cancer 11 years ago now and has not had to have treatment yet. It was recommended by the Cancer Nurse. His hormone levels have slowly risen over the years but to the level where he needs treatment. My husband is taking it too. it's also got the most non soluble fibre of any grain, and the best source of all the Omega Oils, 3,6,9. Something else to get checked out is your selenium levels as most of the world tends to be deficient in that too. It works well in combination with Zinc and Magnesium. It also lowers the bad Cholesterol and raises the good Cholesterol so it is definitely something worth adding to you diet. No more than one ounce per day though. I just pop it into a large glass of water, stir it around and knock it back. Tastes a little bit nutty. The reason for taking no more than one ounce is that it contains cyanogenic glycosides and if you were to take more than this, we're taking 2 ounces or more, it will bind in the body with water and make cyanide. Which would not be safe. Anything can be dangerous, it just depends on the dosage. A couple of bananas gives you all the potassium that you need as well. I hate them and have to get it from other veg. Also Aspirin doesn't lower high blood pressure. It can be helpful for older people in stopping heart attacks but, it has more risks than benefit if taken in higher doses. It's banned for children in the UK and not recommended for anyone unless as a mild blood thinner for older people to help prevent heart attacks. Diet and nutrition prevent far more than a lot of medicines can fix.

@robertcross7571 that makes me very glad that I live in Ireland where we have small farms and our locally grown veg. I know which farm my beef comes from, and it's always grass fed and they're out all year round. We still mostly eat seasonally and it's lovely, as you get to look forward to things coming into season. Also they still practise crop rotation here so that there is no need to be pumping man made fertilisers into the ground. It might be a more antiquated of fashioned type place but our fruit and veg is nutritious and our meat raised in a humane manner, have good lives and are slaughtered locally so as to cause them the least stress possible. I hate bananas personally but get my potassium from other sources. I also do not microwave things as much as possible, as they've proven that this destroys nutrients in the food as well. Industrial farming is helping to destroy our world. But please do take in the information about the Flaxseed/Linseed and please do your own research which will confirm this as well.

I've heard this from every doctor in the last few years: "You ARE getting older..." to explain: apnea, joint pain/arthritis, hearing loss, hair loss, and pretty much every problem I talk to doctors about. I'm 53 years old, exercise 45 min a day walking, 20 lbs over weight, and otherwise in good health. They might be right, but they are also 100% consistently trying to shut down conversations by explaining away my concerns as "you didn't realize you were getting old". I've so far avoided CPAP by losing weight and using an oral appliance. Avoided high blood pressure meds by the same measures. And avoided pre-diabetes meds by the same measures. They just want to fill me with products, not manage my health. That's the danger we all face, older or not.

It's a free to use app/site that measures all the micronutrients of your daily food intake. You can specify which nutrients it shows and it adds percentages to the easy to understand graph 📊 as you add your food you eat. Very helpful to see deficiency in your diet. I've got my diet 100% of all key nutrients by using these staples of my daily intake- 4oz ground beef, 1oz veal liver, 3 raw egg yolks, large cup of broccoli 🥦, 1oz pumpkin seeds, 2oz cheddar. There’s a reason why the “healthcare” system doesn’t approve of natural health... it is fully run/backed by the pharmaceutical companies. Natural health doesn’t make these companies any money, they profit off of people’s illness and ignorance... you CAN heal yourself naturally, they just don’t want you to know that. They want people to be reliant on their drugs/procedures. That’s where they profit, into the trillions.

Dangerous advice. There are numerous books on the perils of iron accumulation in tissues (not serum Ferritin). Copper deficiency is the root cause of 90% of iron regulation problems, including anemia. We are all suffering from excess iron in our tissues and copper insufficiency. This causes oxidative stress and aging. Some are experiencing epigenetic reversal of the MTHFR allele after correcting copper metabolism. For further info see the work of Morley Robbins.

Thank you Dr. Berg, you have exactly described what happened to me. I was misdiagnosed with Fibromyalgia for years, suffered terrible muscle pains and a myriad of other symptoms, which all turned out to be corrected with a $7 bottle of iron supplement. I was elated but also devastated that so many years had gone by which I essentially lost all quality. I was in my early 30s all the way into my 40s before I received the "diagnosis". For all of those years, my blood count showed that I was just inside of the Normal range, and I asked every doctor if I should be concerned about that, and they all say, "no, you are find, you are within range." What I've learned from all of this is that my "normal" is nowhere near the bottom of the range. The pain was unbelievable. Hair loss, restless legs, smooth tongue, chronic chapped lips, etc. Had it all. Very sad. Now I'm in my 60s and am finally feeling better than in my whole life. Following you, Dr. Mercola and Medical Medium have changed everything for me. You each provide invaluable information. Thank you.

As a fellow doctor all I can say is that hearing a professional, that is more experienced than me, denouncing the "its all in your mind" routine used by many of our colleagues and focusing on the importance of a good medical history and differential diagnosis is refreshing. In my opinion, medical gaslighting is a real thing and labelling all symtomps as "mental" dooms the patient to delayed diagnosis and decreased quality of life more times that we can ever imagine. What makes a good doctor, first and above everything else (even adequate knowledge), is caring about the patient. A non-diligent doctor is more dangerous than a medically uneducated one that cares. At least the last one will seek a more experienced doctors help or revisit his books and recap his knowledge. Its also nice to see a doctor giving a spotlight to nutrition habits/ alimentation as they indeed affect human physiology in many ways and not all physicians consider them as factors that are influential to disease or are even trained to recognize and treat them. P.S.: Apart from Fe, ferritin and general blood count I find TIBC a test very useful in solving anemia conundrums.

I went to 12 doctors (3 ER’s) and all except one believed me when I said, “it feels like I have a deficiency”. One ER doctor said it was anxiety. Of course I disagreed with her. I googled nonstop with my goldfish brain. I found Dr. Esa Soppi’s medical literature on iron deficiency without anemia and it fit me like a glove. I studied it and everything I could about iron and how to treat it. In my case i was having shortness of breath and brain zaps and probably needed an IV. I supplemented heavily (I studied it first) I fixed myself and 4 days later I could walk to the mailbox. 9 days later I could work again. After about 8 months I got my ferritin up to the optimal level of 100 (I test myself now) and my hair started growing like crazy and I feel like I haven’t felt in decades. I did go, and I was talking to the ER dr who said ‘ands why do you think the bleeding is causing the anemia?’ I wanted to hit this man in the head with a brick… He finally got my results back for my iron and all that stuff, and my red blood cell count and said ‘we’re going to type you right now and call the blood bank. You’re going to need a few pints of blood tonight!’ They gave me two bags of O+, and I began to feel better and started breathing easier after the first bag finished. Whoa, this is perfect timing! I realized this deficiency on my own last week and immediately felt better after I started eating iron supplement, but also eating more meat and drinking apple vinegar concotion instead of coffee. I didn't suspect to have iron deficiency, because I always had good iron levels in blood testing, so I somehow decided I can't be "anemic". And I do have hypothyroidism. Also I did eat much less meat over the summer. And I did get basically all the signs you listed, and I blamed half of them on depression. But then I couldn't allow my hair to keep falling out, so you can say vanity brought me to a proper research ;)

DR BERG, your Chinese channel is very good and watched by Chinese people around the world, not just in Taiwan. It is incorrect to say your channel is translated into Taiwanese. Taiwanese is just one of the many spoken Chinese dialects, not the written form. There are 2 written forms of Chinese: (1) Simplified Chinese used in China and Singapore, and (2) Traditional Chinese used in Hong Kong, Taiwan, and overseas Chinese worldwide, including Korea, South East Asia, USA, Europe, etc. Your existing Chinese channel is in Traditional Chinese, which is reaching Chinese viewers worldwide. Just want to provide a broader perspective for you in case your Chinese translation team overlooked and did not inform you. The Chinese translation is excellent. Your Chinese channel could easily be converted to Simplified Chinese to create a second Simplified Chinese Channel to reach even more people - potentially Billion of Chinese all over the world. Thank you so much for you & your team's contribution. ❤

Among a couple of other recommendations, my UCLA Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Fibromyalgia specialist told me to have B12 injections 3x weekly at my HMO, reaching what other doctors viewed as dangerously excessive. The UCLA doc told me to ignore the other drs. - and he was right. Within a short span I finally began to feel like a human again, and to function like one.

Dr Berg- your advice on vitamin B has been a huge help to me. I've run out and had to save up to get some more (given that I decided to find organic not chemically copied pills) and am still waiting for these to come from overseas. In the couple of weeks that I've not had these, the pain in my arms and legs, and especially the numbness in my feet has really become worse. Can't wait to get the new pills. My doctor's advice when I told him about these problems was to 'not worry about it.' That really helped- NOT! Two years later, he did give me a vitB shot but that didn't seem to do much for me. I do take Magnesium as well to help with the pain. I hope that won't cancel the vitB. Anyway, thanks for all your advice.

Five years ago my blood test showed low iron and hemoglobins. I was referred to a specialist who said I needed iron infusions. I always check my insurance to see if I’m covered. They said they would check and call me if any problem. No calls so I went in on the appointment day. The receptionist knew nothing about my insurance. They set me down and brought in a drip which they said would take about three hours! I asked the head nurse about my insurance. She called the insurance department and told me they would pay one thousand dollars a session. She said you also pay a one thousand dollar deductible!!!🤦🏻‍♀️😧 I asked how many infusions I would need. She said four and then a blood test to see about more!!😧 Four thousand dollars- twelve hours and four appointments!!👎🏼 I cancelled everything and am now taking iron supplements and getting blood tests. It’s not improving but has stopped going down. MY doctor says it may be a slow process. It always is for more money 💵 I’m 77 and need good health care. Can’t get it without BIG premiums!!

Thank you for that Dr Berg. I appreciate your videos because I live in Greece and Greece has the largest number of pharmacies per inhabitant in all of Europe. Everyone I know is being prescribed drugs in one form or another. Surgeries are always jam-packed with patients wanting repeat prescriptions. I hate taking pills so I avoid seeing doctors. I did have to see a cardiologist about occasional arrhythmias and he said I have a very good heart (the heart of someone 20 years younger than my age) and he prescribed pills which gave me terrible side effects - as did the second lot of different pills - so I stopped taking them. Since I don't eat read meat I am going to buy some Iron pills and see if they make a difference. Thanks again. (Loving the beard)

Thank you Dr. Berg for touching on doctors saying it’s all in our heads. Thank you for being understanding of that. You’re a rare 💎 !!! I can’t tell you how many doctors I’ve been to in my life that have told me this, especially MD’s & of the worst to say it back…mental health professionals (that I was always referred to by the MD’s)! 😩 It’s a back n forth battle between them. A wild goose chase! I’ve had 3 different DO’s that never told me this. I’ve had a good DC as yourself that was also great & I’ve had 2 holistic specialist that never told me that & was extremely helpful as well. Btw, I take a children’s chewable with iron daily. No other iron source has helped me. They either constipate me or make me sick. The chewable I take is loaded with C, A, mag & more. Plus it’s sugar free.

Out of nowhere, I had an iron spike earlier this year. My heart would pound, and I would get out of breath just walking from room to room. While my hemoglobin was low, my iron saturation was 76. That was a bit counterintuitive. Too much iron leads to the blood carrying less oxygen. Two weeks later my iron levels were back to normal. Just more fallout from a septic infection last year.

Shortly after I got married, I gave my sister-in-law a subscription to Science Digest. There was an article about an experiment done at a Texas university on iron levels. A large number of students were divided into 3 sections according to their blood iron levels, normal, low, and a control group. All 3 groups were put through stamina tests then the normal and low groups were given iron supplements. After a few weeks, they were put through the stamina tests again. No change for the control group or 1/2 of the normal group, as expected. The low group showed a marked improvement (expected) as did the other 1/2 of the “normal” group (totally unexpected). This article was published in the early 1970s.

I just want to thank you for being there with your very special way of explanation for lay people and your sympathetic attitude that comes across which makes people feel very at ease. I have now watched many of your wonderfully informative videos and thank heaven you are there. The main point of my comment, however, is the affect of the GP situation, probably across the world by now, because of how GP's, doctors and other so called medical professionals, have handled the current 'experimental drug' circumstances of the last 2-3 years. I, for one, have become very dissolutioned with the intention of doctors, who have been financially incentivised to dish out these 'vaccines', and will find it extremely hard to go to mine, at any time soon because of my lack of faith in their capability to actually work for the people who pay them i.e. the public (which makes me wonder whether they really are educated on the subject of human health) or in reality, do they actually work for the recently exposed, financially motivated pharmaceutical industry.

I can't tell you how many times I've gone to a doctor for help with an issue and after they did testing they told me I was perfectly fine. And they would then treat me as if I were a hypochondriac. If they only knew how long I had suffered before I finally decided to go get checked out, they would realize I'm far from a hypochondriac and that exact reaction is why I've delved into natural healing and mostly self diagnose and self treat with herbs and supplements. One example is I've broken almost all of my toes at some point, my pinkie toes multiple times. Hairline fractures always, but still. One has been broken so many times it's now permanently deformed. My last Primary who I somewhat trusted decided to do some free x-rays, because I mentioned the one was still tender and I was unable to bend it without immense pain. Well, the x-rays showed zero residual damage and he said it was a "perfectly healthy and normal looking toe." I still had a lingering discoloration in the skin from the last break that was extremely tender. That was the last time I went there. I haven't been back to even a wellness check since.

Thank you Dr Berg! ❤ So much more information is needed for this topic, i find my whole life I've experienced very dismissive doctors, it's literally the "too hard basket" for them. I have Thalassemia Minor (yes I know this is a completely different topic, but you can imagine my level of tired), in addition to this, ever since I gave birth 8 years ago, I've been on a non stop rollercoaster of iron deficiency, ferritin deficiency (either or at any given time). I consume so much red meat, I'm surprised i haven't turned into it 😂 but apparently the absorption problem is a lot to do with my Thalassemia. Anyways, I'd love a video about Ferritin deficiency vs Iron deficiency and treatments, or even anything on Thalassemia Minor (which no doctors I've ever been to can understand). 🇦🇺

Oh gosh, been anemic on and off my entire life. Not until I did a lot of my own research and finally found one doc who knew what they were doing did I learn about ferritin and ferritin levels So many docs just clueless What I struggle w is maintaining my iron and ferritin levels as am not a meat eater / constantly torn between my beliefs and what feels good to me and attempting to raise my iron levels / non heme iron just doesn’t seem to do it for me So am now back to taking ferrous surface tablets However also know that I should really cut down on my black tea consumption as that of course interferes w absorption But people don’t realise how much can be affected by inadequate iron levels - I always know that when I get overly weepy and sad that my iron levels aren’t what they should be. Thanks for your videos and bringing attention to all
