*Long text* I used to have tonsil stones and bad breath, but you probably have the solution in your kitchen, and if not, it's very cheap, or at least in many countries it is. It's baking soda. I've been using it for a few months and it's the best decision I've ever made. I put baking soda on my toothbrush and I brush my tongue (don't brush it very hard because it is worse), I rinse with water, and I do it again. You feel the freshness immediately. If you have tonsil stones you can put a little bit on the tip of your tongue and spread it on your tonsils and then rinse with water, if you can't do it with your tongue, do it with your finger. Since I've done that, I no longer have tonsil stones. Note: Don't swallow it, spit it out and that's it. Nothing bad will happen to you if you swallow it, but if you do it all the time it can affect the PH of your stomach. You can also put a tablespoon of baking soda in a glass of water (it doesn't has to be hot) and use it as a mouthwash, but I don't do it because it left my front teeth feeling rough, but it went away by brushing those teeth with the same baking soda, although personally I no longer do it. I also have a small bottle that I keep in my pocket with baking soda, and if I'm not at home and I can't brush my teeth, I use it and the bad taste in my mouth is gone. But, if the police come and they see that, I don't know what you're going to say. 😅🤣 Drinking water also helps, so if you combine drinking water, brushing your teeth, flossing, and using baking soda, it may be enough to get rid of bad breath. There is a video explaining why baking soda is not bad for your teeth. I don't put the link because I don't know if it is allowed to put the link of another channel in the KZbin comments, but you can search for the video as "BICARBONATO DE SODIO para los DIENTES | EL MEJOR ENJUAGUE BUCAL CASERO DEL MUNDO 🔥 ¡COMPROBADO!" from the channel "Un Dentista En KZbin". It's in Spanish, but you can enable subtitles. KZbin subtitles are not the best but you understand the point. I hope it works for you.

A lot of people have tonsil stones, which are white pieces of calcified food that are stuck in the pocket of their tonsils, and that can often cause the bad breath smell. Often you can see them there if you open your mouth wide and look in a mirror. Sometimes they are loose enough that you can cough them out into your hand, and if you smell it, you’ll notice it smells absolutely terrible

My chronic bad breath disappeared after a deep-cleaning, dental procedure. This may sound overly simple, but I grew-up in a home where nobody went to the doctor or dentist unless he was sick or had a toothache (no health insurance of any kind.) Consequently we went years between office visits. A bad case of gingivitis can literally make your mouth and breath, smell like a sewer. It drove people away and caused me to be reserved, anti-social and an introvert. Of course, routine and regular dental visits, are now part of my life.

We have neither fluoride or chloride in our home. I never use alcohol containing mouthwash. In 2009 I had a porcelain crown placed on my front tooth. I had broken it off as a young child and had it bonded and rebounded for decades, but it always yellowed and people would ask me if I smoked. I have never. I was so self conscious about it. So, when insurance finally agreed to pay for the crown I jumped at the chance! My vanity led me down a road of years of chronic pain. The entire crown placing ordeal was so painful and months later I was unable to eat even a chip using my front teeth and my husband couldn’t place even the lightest kiss upon my lips. It CONSTANTLY felt as if a nail were being driven through the tooth and into my sinuses. Yet, the dentist kept telling me I “shouldn’t “ still be having pain! I wanted zero drug…otc or prescription. I just wanted the problem fixed so it would go away! It went on for over 2 years, but all the doc offered was a root canal and I was fully aware of its dangers and failure rate. I declined. Along the journey I learned how toxic is fluoride and began making my own toothpaste. Within a couple of months my tooth/face pain disappeared! Then, I went to visit my Mom for a week stay and forgot my toothpaste. Not even thinking I used her commercial garbage and the pain returned with a vengeance and stayed for 6 weeks! Now, 12 years in my tooth can still get sensitive if bumped, but I can eat easily and, most importantly, my husband can kiss me! However, the gum is receding a bit and I will get bacteria build up that causes bad breath and increased sensitivity. My solution for this is using a water pic with hydrogen peroxide added to the water, massaging the gums and oil pulling with myrrh and frankincense in the oil!

Well, the only time I got dry mouth is when I ran out of my tooth powder and just used a tiny bit of my fluoride free and SLS free toothpaste. I got dry mouth again right after that. I now make sure I have a lot of extra tooth powder on hand so that I won't run out. I love my tooth powder! Best thing for my teeth and gums. I do not use straight baking soda. It is easy to notice bad breath in others, but it is difficult for the owner of the smell to feel it himself. Therefore, if a person thinks his mouth smells bad, he can do a simple test to confirm this, he can lick the inner side of his wrist and then smell it. If the smell is bad, that confirms the bad smell of himself as well. Or he could ask someone he trusts to be honest to smell himself. It would be wrong for him to be offended if he told him there was a problem, wouldn't it be better for him to know?

I don't have time to read all the comments, but I tell you this very quickly....the most important topic you should address is why some people suffer from bad breath and others don't. All the things you are recommending are probably ok to practice, but people who don't suffer from bad breath they don't practice none of those things you are prescribing and they don't suffer from that. I know people who don't brash their teeth properly or wash their mouths as good and as frequently as people who suffer from that problem, and zero bad breath. So, I know for a fact it is not the food they eat, it does not come from their guts or stomach as some doctors say. UCLA had a clinic some years ago, it was called Oral clinic, inside of the UCLA Medical center in Westwood. It was a research about bad breath, halitosis, and I am not sure if it still exists, but they were there to teach how to clean the mouth and teeth properly, and just test the person for the sulfur compounds of the mouth. They sold an oral kit, which consists of tongue scraper, oran rinse, toothpaste and some other things, dental floss and tooth brush. They don't work. The problem comes back. This is what works: Clean the tongue properly with a combination of toothpaste and baking soda. Then all the oral cavity with the same paste. Apply the same paste to the dental floss and floss properly. The key point here is properly. Clean the gums and teeth properly, using the same paste. Do this AM and PM, before going to bed. Cleaning the tongue after each meal is absolutely a must. Now you are ready to use all the things Dr. Berg is telling you.

Unfortunately it's a very complicated issue. I had and occasionally gets bouts of really bad breath. I have excellent oral hygiene, I eat a well balanced diet and rarely consume sweets. The only major cure for me has been antibiotics, suggesting I have bacterial issues in my throat or small intestine. One thing I haven't tried however is the apple cider vinegar and betaine HCL, I do usually feel full hours after eating so this might be it.
@imkadosh26 күн бұрын
Ok I am replying my own message with an upgrade information, and this is the very top of science: Streptococcus mutants is what causes bad in the mouth. There is other bacteria that might help, but the principal one is this. This is the reason bad breath comes back. Streptococcus mutants can only be eradicated from the mouth using Xylitol sugar. Follow the instructions Dr. Ellie Phillips recommends: This is the one that for sure said good bye to my bad bread: "Say good bye to Bad Breath for Good" by Dr. Ellie Phillips. She is a dentist, and uses Xylitol to eradicate the Streptococcus mutants by them eating the sugar but cannot multiply themselves. And also this sugar keeps the mouth alkaline which is another environment streptococcus mutants do not like. They thrive in an acid mouth. So, watch all the videos of this dentist and you will be happy!! Note: I don't use none of her mouth washes, or toothpaste. All I use is my own toothpaste which does not contain fluoride, and none of harsh products. A soft toothbrush and I stopped flossing because my gums were so recessed I had pain in my teeth. But now are grown back. And no mouthwash. I do use a solution of 1 tsp of baking soda in 1-1/2 water, with this I do mouth gargles for 1 minute to make my mouth alkaline before brushing so my teeth do not demineralize during the brushing. She recommends buying an expensive mouthwash which I own by instead I make my own solution of water and baking soda. The sugar is the queen here--it is the cure for bad breath.

My lifetime bad breath ended when I was diagnosed with gluten intolerance and I ceased eating gluten. Never had it again. I wasnt celiac, just gluten intolerance diagnosed via a genetic test.
@sugalovely12383 жыл бұрын
I'm thinking gluten, dairy or both is the root cause of mine. I have done water fasts where all problems cleared up by day 4, leaving me to believe that the bloating, chronic sinus problems & breath issues are caused by something(s) in my diet. Starting Sunday, I'm eliminating diary for a while, to see if anything improves...then on to gluten...not looking forward 2 it though. I love cheese & bread..
@tillygirl74503 жыл бұрын
@@sugalovely1238 Have you ever tested for Celiac Disease? You mentioned every symptom I had BEFORE I tested positive for Celiac Disease. There's lots of good tasting gluten free breads and out there. Yeah, I hear you on the cheese and bread, just cheeses in general were a love for me. It is hard to eliminate or greatly reduce foods you enjoy that are not good for your health - but if you up your protein and lower your sugar intake a lot - you can REDUCE your cravings for dairy and processed foods. Also, check out Intermittent Fasting and how that will help reduce your cravings too. Keep researching your way towards good health and it will be very rewarding. 😊💖

My bad breath was primarily caused by tonsil stones or tonsilloliths - these are semi-hard white masses that get stuck in the recesses of your tonsils or at the back of your mouth. They are made of an amalgamation of bacteria, bacterial products, mucous, dead skin cells, food particles etc... that get trapped. No matter my diligence with flossing, brushing and mouth wash, I would always get them every month or two. What “cured” me of it was doing oil pulling every night and morning for 10 minutes. It’s been years and I haven’t had another tonsil stone. My dentist is also quite surprised that that have little to no plaque to scrape off my teeth as the coconut oil removes that as well. If you haven’t tried it already, I highly recommend oil pulling. It’s saved my breath and teeth.

The biggest source of actual odor in your mouth are tonsililoths. On both sides of the back of your mouth, your tonsils are little pockets where bacteria and food particles collect. Over time little nuggets of pus and bacteria form. You can "express" those pockets with your index finger or the rounded handle of your toothbrush.

I've been suffering from bad breath since I was a kid (6 years old), my siblings also used to have this issue however it is not intense as mine and sometimes they don't have it but mine has never gone! Let me start by telling you about the symptoms I used to feel and still feel it --> - All I used to feel was a bad taste through my throat since I had tonsil stones in my throat. That's it!! - I don't feel the acid reflux (don't know if I have any), I don't have heartburn, bloating, vomiting, constipation, diarrhoea, ...etc. so there are no signs of indigestion, and I have never felt a stomach ache. I am the kind of person that loves food and can eat a big meal at once, and still maintain a good weight. I've reached many doctors, but nothing was changed. I will list the type of doctors and remedies/ surgeries I got: 1- my first attempt was by visiting an otolaryngologist because I believed my bad breath was because of the bad taste I have in my throat. The doctor diagnosed my case with paranasal sinuses and I did back then the sinuses surgery. Unfortunately, nothing was changed, my bad breath didn't even reduced. 2- my second visit was to gastroenterologist, who diagnosed my case with low stomach acid and weak LES. He gave my low stomach acid medicines (i.e. Nexium) and another medicine to tighten my LES. He described me a strict diet as well - nothing oily or fatty - all type of oils including olive oil- - no spices in food (i.e. black pepper) - no chocolate, chilly food, coffee, yogurt, tomatoes, thyme, orange, eggs, onions and garlic, lemon, ... I cut off all that food and the substitute was pasta, rice, plain english cake, milk and cereal, plain biscuit, cheese, .... and the doctor told meto eat more frequently but smaller portions And guess what, my bad breath disappeared through this whole medication and diet plan ( 3 months) !!! BUT once I stopped the medicines and the day I got back to my old lifestyle, the bad breath showed immidiatelly. 😔 3- I then visited another gastroenterologist We did an upper endoscopy, some blood tests, and nothing was wrong. The doctor even said that I don't have acid reflux. But he still described me some medicines, and nothing was changed. 4- The las doctor I visited was otolaryngologist also, but this time we removed the tonsils 😁 yes we did a tonscilctomy and I though this was it I will no more have bad breath. But still after all that pain, nothing changed!! 😪 I decided to search and find the cure by myself. I read about candida and thought maybe I have candida ( I am that type of person that always tired and can't focus), so I started the candida journey by following a strict keto diet, taking supplements and probiotics, and drinking acv before each meal. I followed this diet for 3 consecutive months. But nothing changed, here where I gave up. About 2 months ago, I started drinking chlorophyll and taking spore probiotic, but I didn't see any difference in my bad breath. Recently, I've drinking acv with Himalayan salt after meals and before bed. I have noticed a 10% change in my breath ( for the better). I am sorry for my long message, but this journey has been really frustrating in all terms 😔😔 it really affected my relationship with people and made me an introvert person. I am getting married in 3 months and I can't imagine I would wakeup with a bad breath next to my partner😪 luckily we're in a long distance relationship. After reading my medical journey, what do you think the source of the bad breath is? Please suggest 😥

There are some issues if you still have bad breath after good oral hygiene: 1. GERD/ ACID REFLUX . May it be due to your stomach. Consult with a gastroenterologist. 2. Liver Issue. 3. Postnasal Drip. When you have Allergy problems or Allergic rhinitis, excessive mucus is produced, which also causes Nasal odor. Also checked for blocked nose. 4. Dirty tongue. 5. Dry Mouth. 6. Hiatus Hernia / H.pylori 7. Lack of flossing. 8. Tonsil issue or Tonsil stones. 9. Sinusitis or Sinus issue.

For things to avoid to get rid of bad breath I would *ELIMINATE toothpaste altogether.* As far as using mouthwash, only use a mouthwash with zero alcohol that is intended for dry mouth. I would chew gum with Xylitol *only* if I am out someplace where I absolutely cannot brush my teeth; no water, no sink. I don't chew gum because that can fool the body into releasing enzymes when we don't need them. I will add... *Things you can do to avoid bad breath.* *1.* Use a *tooth powder* consisting of a combination of baking soda, pink Himalayan salt, and essential oils. --- With tooth powder, you can brush several times a day right after eating each meal including snacks. The Himalayan salt will re-mineralize your teeth and the baking soda will remove stains and whiten. *2.* *Scrape your tongue* using a *copper* tongue scraper ---- Benefits of scraping your tongue: ----- • Reduces undesirable bacteria in the mouth that can compromise gum, teeth and oral health. ----- • Reduces volatile sulfur compounds, which are by-products of mouth bacteria linked to bad breath. ----- • Improves taste sensation and reduces tongue coating. ----- • Changes the environment of the mouth to reduce putrefaction and decrease bacterial load. *Copper is the best metal* to use to *scrape your tongue* because copper *fights the bad bacteria* on your tongue. It also *provides important enzymes* that are needed for the healthy microbes in the mouth to survive. *3. Floss your teeth* with expandable floss ---- Flossing between your teeth cleans the areas that your toothbrush cannot reach. This prevents the build-up of plaque. This colorless plaque is constantly forming so it can quickly build up without you realizing. If you leave plaque on your teeth, it will harden and turn into tartar. As tartar builds up, it can cause gingivitis, which is the first stage of gum disease. *Good Oral Hygiene* Keeps You Healthy. *Keeping your mouth healthy* is an important part of *keeping yourself healthy overall.* Periodontal disease has been *linked to many chronic illnesses,* in particular, chronic heart disease. In fact, it is thought that *those who have periodontal disease* are nearly twice as likely to *have heart disease.*

Did you have a bad breath before you start doing this routine?
@1Hope4All3 жыл бұрын
@@bayle2236 Not really. But at times, I did have dry mouth. I just didn't realize how dry until I started using the tooth powder. And dry mouth can lead to bad breath. My main reason for my routine was to *eliminate fluoride.* I just did not want that stuff in my system. So I started getting fluoride free toothpaste. But that still left me with dry mouth. So then, I eliminated SLS (sodium laurel sulfate). That's the stuff that makes toothpaste foam. I wouldn't wash my mouth with soap, so why would I want foamy toothpaste? 😜 Even with SLS free and fluoride free toothpaste, I still got dry mouth. I even got those pastes with the clove and other natural herbs in it, but still not the solution I wanted. That's when I decided to totally *ditch the paste* and *switch to powder.* Best mouth hygiene decision I ever made!!! I don't recommend this for everyone BUT, *I rarely go to the dentist!* I just went about 2 months ago, but before that, the last time I went to the dentist was about 7 years ago! The dentist had no idea. He did the regular exam, took x-rays, and cleaned my teeth. He said I had no problems and that everything looked great and to keep doing what I'm doing! My gums don't bleed, even when I floss. I really think a lot of it has to do with how acidic or how alkaline you are. It also has to do with your genetics and body chemistry. Some people are more prone to hygiene problems and gingivitis than others no matter how much they brush their teeth. Not only that, a person can brush their teeth twice a day, and even thrice, but not floss and scrape their tongue. That's disgusting. 😝 I do all three!

Eating black pepper with a meal helps promote sufficient hydrochloric acid to digest your food. If you put a little black pepper on your tongue for a minute or two before eating really helps your stomach have enough acid to digest your food thus eliminating undigested food which leads to bad breath. Also taking zinc helps tremendously too.
