@Dr Eric Berg DC, please note that salmon must be wild cauth, the salmon from farms are highly toxic, even worse than commercial hamburgers, the toxines come from the pellets they feed the salmon. A question i have about the vitamine K2 in sauwerkraut, how is that possible for a fat-soluble vitamin? As there is no fat in sauwerkraut? Or?

The main reason why I have huge respect for you, Dr. Berg, is not just for the clarity of your presentations, but on account of your honesty, modesty and sincerity in being able to admit that you have sometimes changed your opinion in the light of scientific evidence - the mark of a true scientist. Too many modern 'experts' will never admit that their opinions were wide of the mark. The 'knowledge' about saturated fats is a case in point. More scientists and health professionals need to develop the honesty, modesty and sincerity which you possess.

Good to know high quality red meat does not cause cancer. Note, though, that since studies indicate that high heat grilling (13:40) definitely has cancer-causing agents, it's also good to view Dr. Axe's recommendations, to significantly reduce risk.

After 4 years of eating dirty, lazy keto, I am now following a OMAD healthy version. I found that this one meal a day is not hard because I am not hungry, but I cannot eat all the foods that I think I should for max nutrients in just one meal. Good thing about that is now I am willing to spend more to buy better quality because I can eat less of it to get even more nutrients into that one meal. Sounds like a win-win to me.

I was 255 January 1st. I’m 207 today. I can attribute this to the following: 1. Initial 1 week detox. 3 days only raw vegetables and water. 2 days bulk fiber supplement, and 2 days strict fast with only 2 large glasses of warm water and baking soda to flush out my colon. 2. Taking a supplement called “interphase plus” which broke down biofilms and allowed my body to rid itself of bad bacteria and restore intestinal flora balance. 3. Taking berberine to improve my gastric enzyme balance and overall digestive health. 4. Cutting out sugar and processed foods. 5. Eating once a day in the afternoon. 6. 30 mins of cardio a day gradually increasing in intensity. 5-6 days a week. 7. Building up to 30-45 mins of weight training a day 3 times a week. 8. Getting a girlfriend who keeps me on my toes 24 hrs a day.

Growing up as a chubby kid and eating very unhealthy.. (Like a whole box of sugary cereal or cookies kind of unhealthy) I feel it was necessary to understand just how bad that really is for you. For years I've been eating healthy, strict Keto, working out, and never felt better! I have Dr Berg to thank for a lot of what I know now and am so grateful to look and feel as good as I do, while spreading the word to friends and family about how we need to take our health seriously. Keto is not a fad diet, it's the real deal. Thanks so much for all the great content!

It won't take long, I have been experiment with good eating habits, intermittent fasting for so many years testing my body and changing things around. The reason is I set different goals every time I make progress on something and when I hit plateau so I switch and try something else. Intermittent is magical I see results in a month time. That also depends on your goals. Just dare to try it and see the results for yourself, u don't have to do it cold turkey just drop everything. You can cut small portion a week, for example if you eat bread 3 times a day cut it to two times a day for the first few weeks.

@@emmbaker2182 I had a health scare Jan 2nd. Haven’t exercised or eaten right in years and weighed 252 lbs. Immediately went cold Turkey cut out all sugar, starchy carbs, breads, processed foods and started power walking everyday. First day I could barely do 10-15 minutes and wheezed and panted the whole way. It’s Sunday, Jan 22nd and just completed an almost 4 mile walk for 70 minutes straight, no breaks, and my breathing is now in a steady rhythm. My weight was down to 243 lbs. other day but did gain 2 lbs. more back, probably in some muscle and fluctuating water weight. I’m honestly shocked at the capacity for the human body to heal so fast, it’s truly like a miracle.

When I started out in the emergency department as a registered nurse many years ago, nutrition was a word that was hardly ever mentioned. Unproven hypotheses were thrown around like they were fact...LDLs were bad, eggs were bad, essential hypertension was hypertension with an unknown cause which had to be fixed with medications, taking statins were a necessity if you had high cholesterol and you just had to deal with the side effects, and on and on. Now that I have been retired for a few years I find that I know more now as to how important nutrition is with virtually every aspect of one's health. In a nutshell what I have learned is this... a few simple dietary changes coupled with a desire to better one's health can lead to drastic improvements in one's life.

Agreed, I have found doctors dont say anything about nutrition and just want to prescribe to fix the immediate symptom. Started going to a naturopathic doctor with much better results. Not abandoning any of the doctors but just use them for their strengths.

I'm finding doctors still don't know much about nutrition or healthy eating. As fas as weight-loss goes they still say calories in, calories out. They don't acknowledge the hormones involved in your body and shedding weight. Losing weight is not one size fits all. Some doctors get into fat shaming.

I got an email years ago about how Rockefeller & others that owned pharmaceutical companies took over writing what doctors were taught in college & they took out almost everything about nutrition because they knew what we eat effects our health! We have GMO foods that are toxic for us but the majority of people don’t know they are eating toxins! I’d stay away from any corn products like corn syrup & soybean products & places that use soybean or canola oil, all these are toxins for our body & for our animals! Don’t buy anything with these toxins, maybe this would get their attention by affecting their financial bottom line. 🙏🏼

Arugula is a vegetable that can grow even in the fall and early spring. It actually grows better when it is a little cooler and it can be grown in a pot and brought indoors. I just planted some recently and the seed package said that you can get a harvest in 35 to 40 days. It is very expensive at the store. So, consider getting on the internet and ordering some heirloom seeds and growing your own arugula.

@@Drberg Dr. Berg, according to Dr.Steven Gundry, there is a sugar molecule in beef, lamb & pork, regardless of how it is raised, that our bodies (or the bodies of many of us) form antibodies against. And he says the molecules attach to our arteries, where they are attacked by these antibodies, causing inflammation. And he suggested that it may actually be that sugar molecule, rather than saturated fats & cholesterol, that has been responsible for the noticeable associations between red meat & cardiovascular disease & events over the years. And even Drs. Longo & Sinclair, in their many years of research on longevity, have singled red meat out as important to eliminate. In fact, while some of the "blue zones" do eat limited amounts of seafood & even poultry, none eat red meat. And so, for these reasons, I was surprised to see hamburger on this list, even despite it's nutrient value. Pls know I have only the utmost respect & appreciation for & trust in you and your information, and hope, therefore, that at some point you can do a video (or even respond here) addressing this important concern. But in the meantime, thank you so much for all of your incredibly informative and valuable videos!

Thank you for this information, you changed my life years ago with the keto diet!!....Just a tip for the extra virgin olive oil, I am from Spain, the real virgin olive oil should come in a glass tinted bottle (because light can affect its properties). the lable should say "cold pressed" and a deffinitive proof of autenticity is to see a bit of fat on the bottom of the botle or for the oil to be blurry, as well as a dark shade (should be more greenish than yellow), like the one Dr Berg shows in the video :)

Dear, Dr. Berg! I wanted to reach out and say a huge thank you for all of your work and contribution to our health and happiness! I've been watching your channel for a couple of weeks now and it has changed my life! After learning about my body type (ovary) and reading about all the signs and information, I realised that I am probably insulin resistant and have a fatty liver and might be moving towards being pre-diabetic. I'm 35 and have been having health issues for a couple of years which the doctors have not been able to diagnose or figure out (severely deficient in d-vitam, low on white blood cells, chest pains, severe fatigue, weakness, brain fog, etc). After learning all of this information through your channel, I first did a 3-day water fast and after that have been on intermittent fasting and keto together. I completely changed my eating habits, switched to organic food and also started a small garden to grow my own organic food. I have so much energy and have not felt that motivated and healthy in a very long time. I wake up rested and happy. I'm deeply grateful for that and for all of your work and the free amazing material you are putting out to educate us! It's wonderful and so important! Thank you so much!!

so true. People keep telling try to sway me against fasting... Actually, they're just convincing themselves than they don't need to try it... I've tried IF and 'regular' eating, while doing plenty of stuff. 100% IF gives me more energy, I last longer at whatever activity, have more focus, and I'm overall happier. Stick with IF (it's pretty flexible too, so you can do it in the most convinient way for you; in my case, I fast til the evening, that way I waste no energy on digestion until my duties are over).

Something Dr. Berg forgot to mention in this video, is that when you buy sauerkraut on the unrefrigerated shelf in the grocery store when it's in a can or glass jar, it's pasteurized 100% of the time. The purpose of the pasteurization is to kill all bacteria so that it can be shelf-stable and be transported and sit on the shelf forever... killing all the bacteria, is good for long-term storage, but it's bad for getting the product you want because it kills all the good bacteria, it kills the probiotics. If you're going to bother to buy and eat sauerkraut, you might as well get the probiotic benefits too, so don't buy the store-bought pasteurized stuff. Ideally make your own, it tastes way better than the store-bought stuff, and is full of more probiotics than any expensive pill will give you.

I'm so glad Pecan is on your list Dr. Berg, but please check out Poppyseeds too. Look after poppyseed benefits for the body. It is a yummy filling in many of the Hungarian pastries. Lucky again!!! Poppyseeds has nothing to do with opium. Opium is in the case of the seeds, only when is young and green it gives that milky substance people make opium out of it. NOT in HUNGARY. We love our poppyseeds, love eating it. I also love a great beef steak: Prime Rib is the best; only trouble is it is so expensive!

yes, he eats 4 eggs a day, pasture raised and organic. i feel like a top 10 healthiest foods list makes more sense in the first place since we need some variety. one can change #2 to cruciferous vegetables which covers broccoli, brussels sprouts, cabbage, etc., and then add #8 eggs, #9 avocado, and #10 oyster or maybe lemon. yeah, oyster, cod liver, salmon, are all fantastic

I went on the 18:6 intermittent fasting like Dr Berg recommended. I eat 12-6pm and on weekends I let my self eat carb friendly foods. My drink is water or seltzer. I’m keeping under 50g of carbs a day and going to the gym 40 mins treadmill everyday and 30 mins lifting 3 times a week. Results: hunger is gone, my last sugar reading was 93 (down from 360) my BP is 119/81 and I feel great. 57 years old and swear by the IF. Thank you Dr Berg I follow all your videos and my doctor is so proud of me. Also I started at 315 pounds a month ago and lost 9 pounds my first month.

I used to eat a lot of sauerkraut when I was a kid and it did wonders for my skin. My grandmother would make it often, but when she passed away, the amount I ate was greatly reduced and I began to look my age. Grandma cooked a lot of foods that were considered unhealthy at the time. Now I'm learning that they had great health benefits.

@@gunstargizmo don't be afraid of salt, it is another lie, more is better than less, if the doc says take less salt, just increase potassium, see Dr berg videos on that. Salt in processed foods is bad, partly plastic, pink Himalayan salt is best, then sea salt, you can eat more sauerkraut, I love it with cheddar cheese and black sesame seed or caraway seeds, super healthy and they make the sauerkraut delicious

I've lost 13.5lb since starting Ketos 6 days ago. Finding Arugula (2nd on your list) was worrying me but Mr Google told me we call it ROCKET. Also my first batch of Sauerkraut (with juniper berries) is arriving tomorrow. Thank you Amazon Prime. I have substituted cod liver for beef and chicken liver, but have ordered cod-liver oil, have a whole salmon divided up and stocked in the freezer. Re Hamburger, I don't know how to find halal pasture-raised beef for the (we call HB minced beef). So, I am really taking seriously your ketogenic diet. These past 6 days have seen a drastic cutting back on sugar and cafeine (1/8 tsp jaggery in my 2 cuppas and my 1 coffee per day - down from 7-10 cups with 1 tsp white sugar in each.) With 2 keto meals per day and intermittent fasting I'm feeling benefits weight-wise, energy-wise, and fitting into clothes unworn for 3-4 years. Today is my first tired and fuzzy-headed day. But did you mention more sea salt and potassium are needed for that? I am telling EVERYBODY about you ❤❤❤❤❤ Love and best wishes. From Angie. N Yorkshire. UK.

19:15 A quick tip I learned from an olive grower/mill: When selecting oils, look at the country codes & select those with only *_1_* country listed. Typical codes: ES = Spain, TU = Tunisia, &c. There are other factors to consider; however, this is a _quick_ glance check. The olive oil market has a lot of sketchy goings-on, just as with any other commodity market, & a lot of mixing ("blending") occurs for various reasons. Minimizing the number of sources increases the _probability_ of higher quality. A distant analog is single-malt vs. blended whiskeys, but those have other reasons for their mixing.

Im using the California cold pressed extra virgin olive oil. It is called California olive ranch. Did not see country code on the bottle, but it had the keto certified stamp on it, and has that grassy smell to it. Was very expensive but my wife says its one of the best one of the best
