The stretch needles have a ‘ballpoint’ tip so when they go through the fabric they slip between the fabric threads. If you sew your knit fabrics with regular needles they can pierce the threads on the material making them snap (especially when you stress the fabric) and causing ‘ladders’ in your clothes :-)

Y'all remember there's the Great Pysician y'all have and some human physicians have and others of them don't. Be in prayer that God uses this growth for His kingdom growth. What pretty fabrics! I haven't sewed since junior high, but we have a sewing machine and my husband recently got it out for our daughter to learn. We'll have to check out your "How to sew a cape dress" video. I hope your family is doing well, and that all these renovations come together and finish soon. It is tough to be living with things not put together. Two years ago we started redoing our kitchen, and there's a little left to do (nothing major) but when it was all apart and I had to wash dishes in the tub, it really shows how blessed we are...and I was ever so grateful to get it back together. Even now, as I type this out, I am thankful that I am so blessed. 😊 Have a wonderful weekend!

As a sewing instructor for years, I can tell you all about the needles. Machine needles are either ball point or sharp. The sharp needles are universal and the ball point needles at, believe it, rounded needle which moves between the knit threads not tearing them so you don't have that dreaded run in the fabric...much like a run in your stockings. So, if you sewing on knits, the needles will be labeled knit or ball point. I love Schmetz, they sent me a HUGH needle for demonstration in my classes.

Thank you so much for making this video! I’ve been a follower of Jesus for 14 years and really struggled to find a church with a same beliefs. We’ve homeschooled using Rod and Staff curriculum for 12 years. Rod and Staff became my mentor. We wanted to attend a conservative Mennonite church but didn’t have any in our area. Oddly enough thanks to covid 19 we were able to begin watching a conservative Mennonite church about an hour away from us. What a change it has made in our life! We want to begin attending the church in person so I’ve been pray for the Lord to help me find a pattern and fabric to make dresses like you wear. I feel like this video is an answer to my pray! Re the needle for stretch fabric, bought some this summer and I was told it has a sharper finer point so there is less pulling and bunching of the fabric by the needle. Didn't see a difference with the ones I got, but a real sewer probably would. Think stretchy fabric is just over my head. Loved the Xander intro. He is such a presh. Love the miniature trucks, too and who doesn't love Curious George???? Not something one expects to find at a fabric store! Did you slip up and let out that there is a bun in the oven? Saving a hat that is too small? Guess we will find out when you are ready. Pretty choice of fabrics you made. Love almost all florals. That floral you picked would look great as a dress, upholstery, bedspread, you name it! So happy for the progress on the exterior siding. Must be so exciting! Nolan must breathe a "Thank you, God" every time he sees the bunch of men tackling a job he thought he might be doing himself! Has Xander been "supervising" the workers? Have a great week! Look forward to next weeks video.
