Tracy thank you so much for your wonderful advice, I think that your high level of confidence, your great personality and your personal style (extremely classy) are the reasons of the success in your career. I'm 42 and my mother taught me how to dress with class and elegance since I was a child, I remember being so proud of her every time she had a meeting at my school. My mother is my inspiration and thanks to her example I have accomplished so many goals in my life. Now you are inspiring me to be even better every day, God bless you and your family!

Hi, I work 100% remote, I'm in a high level management role. I want to look nice and professional but i also don't want to wear a suit, dress, etc. while working from home. I fix my hair and put on makeup on but I usually pick the t-shirts and shorts, which is not professional at all. I have lots of zoom calls that are virtual. I used to go into the office daily so I have lots of work outfits that I don't wear at all anymore. I'm over 50 years of age. Thank you! I love your videos :)

I love this so much. Every single word you said resonates with me. Just the other day I became 69 (yikes)and I had the best role model, my Mom! (And you) I always did my own thing and every single day I get dressed and wear a little makeup. Oh the snarky remarks….because that offends people? Thank you! Tracey for giving us the courage to do our own thing and care about our appearance.

I work in a public school and that is so true about the dress code has changed. I still dress professionally and other coworkers comment sometimes about how "overdressed" I am.

This video came at the perfect time for me! I just got back from Marshall’s with some fancier work pieces, and I was debating if I should return them and get something more casual, as my workplace is quite casual. I decided to keep the nicer pieces and dress up because they make me feel happy, confident, and put together!

Love this. I recently decided to step up my office wardrobe and ordered some nice skirts on a thrift site. I have worn jeans for quite a few years and want to step it up because it makes me feel better:) I remember how nice it felt in the old days to dress up for work.

I’m a mother in my mid 30s and enjoy my ripped jeans and occasional converse. 😀 I know women from differing generations (both older and younger than me) will always have perceptions about each other’s appearance choices, and it is a mark of tact to keep those perceptions private unless asked by the person for your thoughts. I agree with you Tracy, it’s not always about conforming to something that meets an external standard but wearing clothes that you feel confident and good in. My mother modeled criticism and gossip around other womens appearance and it’s taken me a long time to get to a place where I feel at ease putting on the clothes I want without the anxiety of others judgement and I also can see other womens clothing choices that isn’t my personal preference and just feel happy they are their own unique person and can make the choices that they feel good about. Learning not to make the comments that were taught to me has been a burden lifted.

Thank you for sharing and reiterating the message. When not asked, zip it! This needs to be applied in MANY areas. Unfortunately, many lack these interpersonal skills and wonder why people keep their distance from them.

I love having my own personal style! I know that some people do judge that and give looks but I feel confident and sexy and if I dressed for others I wouldn’t feel as uniquely me. I approve this - hard and fast rules to put you in a box and make you feel you can no longer be sexy or wear things past a certain age get really old! What fits well and tailors to your shape and style looks good!

I’m 62 and feel better getting dressed in something nice rather than leggings etc. I think for myself, wearing exercise clothing around the house is fine but when going to work or out for errands, lunch etc I feel good wearing a fitted styled outfit. It also keeps an awareness of my weight to stay healthy.

Loved this, Tracy! Such a great, relevant topic especially post-COVID. I’m back in my office 2-3 days/week & everything is WAY more casual! Being in a leadership role, I always look to our executives & more senior leaders & take my cues from them. They’re wearing denim too - but with a great blazer & *walkable* heels or a beautiful sweater or top. Lead by example, indeed! My team looks to me to set the tone & “smart casual” is not the same as what I’d wear lounging around the house & it’s by no means “sloppy”! Have respect for yourself, dress well for the occasion/environment & always put your best foot forward - whether it’s in a stiletto or a sneaker! Thank you for a great video!

I struggle with my wardrobe because some days I want to exude classical and other days as elegant bohemian. It's tough to develop a capsule wardrobe when the looks are on opposite ends of the spectrum. And you're right Tracy, we need to wear what we feel best in and not what others expect.

Great advice! While I dress fairly casually, I like to be put together (not hanging around in workout clothes, etc.) It does sometimes make me different from those around me. But I would rather be slightly overdressed than underdressed. I wear something that I enjoy wearing, and I don't have to feel self-conscious about being too casual or sloppy. And if there are pictures taken, I'm doubly glad to be feeling confident about what I wear!

Thank you so much for this subject..i really appreciated it ...I couldnt agree more dress what you feel comfortable for yourself within reason ... I really loved your comment about if you dont feel comforftable with what your going to wear take it off coz your not going to feel comfortable all day ..so true ...Im definately going to take that tip on board with me in future..that was gold ...im sick of these you tubers saying you must wear this or that yo look great for example ...the colour white ..I know its classic ..but white on me shirt or pants looks horrific on me it makes me look sick and pale ...what might suit one person may not suit all... so thank you

One thing that has really changed, at least where I live, is females at the news stations wearing sleeveless and sometimes very short dresses. Most of the stations have the employees standing instead of sitting. Yet the males still wear suits. It's hard for me to take someone seriously when they look like they can't wait to get off work and get to the bar, lol. And I definitely don't feel sorry for them when they comment on how cold the studio is. I'm in Florida and it's still super hot, no fall weather in sight. But the stores and especially restaurants are cold, so I dress for that, even though I might have a few moments of discomfort going from my air conditioned car into the store or restaurant. Better that than not being able to enjoy your time at a restaurant because you think they need to change the temperature for you. Those workers are running around their whole shift, so the temperature needs to be for them!

Good morning! I have a really random question: I workout 3 times per week, and Zumba twice (although I took a short break this summer from Zumba). I recall you saying that you wear protective pants when you workout. I am spritzing quite a bit when I lift weights or run on the treadmill, or any intense workout. Can you do an updated video on this matter. I am a woman of a particular age and would be interested in how you handle the sprinkling during exercise. Thank you so very much!

I think one of the reasons everyone is dressing more casual post-pandemic is because most people are a few pounds heavier. Let’s be honest, it’s hard to dress up and be cute when your dressier clothes no longer fit you. I love dressing up and it’s always annoying when I get the “why are you so dressed up” comments 🙄 Because I want to and I can and I work hard at it. I always want to reply with “Why don’t you make an effort??” But of course I don’t.
