I could watch this for hours on end. Never assume your videos are boring. I absolutely love to hear all of your knowledge. Thanks again. I have more than one of the classic historical 8. One to dress and one that stays pristine. You are right - it takes forever. What also takes time is when you buy old clothes - the proper cleaning/steaming/ironing. I actually have more dolls than I have time for but I do rotate all the less precious ones so I do about 10 or less at a time. Another AG KZbinr is AG takes over. She is about your age. Age is exactly what keeps me from starting my channel. I am significantly older than you. But I am so tempted to share my collection. I have a huge collection of outfits including a few treasures. I feel I could chat about dolls for hours. Sigh

That's so kind of you to say, thank you! I definitely have a lot of duplicates too. It's nice having ones that you can appreciate the "newness" of. I love AG Takes Over's channel! If you have a desire to make videos, I think you should! The AG KZbin community is small enough where you don't have to feel the pressure of having thousands of subscribers. You can just make the content you want and find other like-minded people. I think you should do it!

The best way to get Kirsten’s winter woolens on is to put her gloves on, and then fold the sleeves up and pull it on her arms, then all you have to do is unfold the sleeves and she’s ready! There’s an instruction booklet out there. That’s how I learned! Also I love the longer video!

She IS smart! It's not such an obvious thing to do, but it is so helpful in keeping the hair from getting tangled!

The playdress should be worn like in the catalog. The pinafore is there to protect her dress. It was much easier to wash than a whole dress. They used to wear their clothes many times, and woolens were aired outside and brushed - not dry-cleaned.

The play dress was kind of my unicorn outfit. I finally took the plunge and bought one last year. I love it and don't even regret the price I paid, which wasn't any more than a new AG outfit. I don't always buy the most mint items, I like to create some of my own pieces. BTW, I'll be 66 this year!

I have snagged the doll’s hair and clothing, until I learned to cover the Velcro up. Also, if I don’t cover the Velcro up, I put hose on last. I only get my newest and favorite dolls dressed. My philosophy is that even the newest American Girl clothing are air loom items and will eventually be coveted items in the future. So, I try to take good care of them. I can only afford newer items and retired outfits on the cheap. I am not afraid to tell anyone about my dolls. I just don’t tell them how much I spend on them. Doll collecting is so much fun. I collect more of the modern dolls. I have Courtney, Molly, Kira, Corrine, Makena, Evette, TM and Create Your Own. I am waiting for Nicky and Isabel to come in. I collect some beds and multiple boxes of clothing.

I enjoyed this video. You had lots of fun, interesting tidbits to talk about. Use a plastic sleeve over the dolls hands when putting the sweaters on. A great hack I learned from a Barbie person. I purchased the Felicity, Kirsten, and Molly dolls back in 1992 for my two young daughters. Back then it was order by mail, send a cheque, and wait 2-6 weeks for the doll to come. Most of the outfits were $18, that seemed like alot. Now, of course, I'm glad I bought all of the collections of clothing for the dolls. My daughter has gone on to collect every historical doll, and many of the GOTY. Her "spare" bedroom hasn't any room left. Keep dressing your dolls, be proud of the collection you have. Goodness, it's okay for men to collect and play with dolls. Look at Robert Tonner, he loved dolls immensely. So you keep buying and showing us. I'll keep watching.

With you on the fluff and hair when receiving clothes. I always make sure the clothes are clean and I use a lint roller on them before shipping if I need to. OMG you made me laugh out loud!

The loop on the muff is to be put around her wrist so she can have her hands free if needed and not drop it in the snow/mud. I hate Velcro loopy loop!! I still use it sometimes when I make clothing for my dolls though, too lazy to sew snaps. The actual act of changing doll clothes IS a four letter word but in the end it is satisfying! I didn't fall asleep but was interrupted a few times. Looking forward to part 2.

Really appreciate that you share your knowledge of those early editions and first releases! I have a small collection of mostly 90s dolls and mostly handmade clothes (my mother and grandmother sewed and so do I). I love to see the Pleasant Company clothing items in the wild and being dressed and undressed from the dolls, because you can see things about their form and construction that you can't necessarily tell from the catalog pictures, and that's so useful and interesting to me! Really like long form content - I prefer videos that are 30mins plus, so don't worry about time length. Want to share about cleaning fragile fabrics - I knit a lot, and to was my handknits made from silk, cashmere, etc - soak them in a gentle fabric wash like Soak or Unicorn Clean. Air dry flat. Watch some of the fabrics bleed though - particularly anything red/pink - Elizabeth Coles meet outfit is a nightmare.

I wanted to share an idea for an easy to do doll wardrobe closet that I did store my charity doll clothes that I sew. I use spring tension cafe/curtain rods inside a IKEA glass door half hutch. I wish I could include a photo for you. It might solve your storage issues and looks super cute too.ill try and change my you tube photo so you can see. Well, I tried, it's still got old photo but I think if you click on my photo the wardrobe pops up. Wierd
