If Tyrod wasn't on a bye I *probably* (it all comes down to matchups) would have started him over Brees. Not because Tyrod is a better QB, but because he is a better QB this season hands down. There is no reason to believe Brees is going to keep putting up these numbers, or anything close. For anyone with a real choice at QB Brees is going to continue to be a week to week decision. these guys calling the game sure dont get excited it seems like. drew is solid for the nfl of today. but lets be honest about the game with the rules protecting the qb. they are not afraid of getting hit like they did in the 70s and 80s. dan marino will always be the standard benchmark for 5000 yards in a season for passing. it was tougher back then and bigger hits and to me more exciting with players like dan marino William perry john Elway and joe montana.
