My father's side of the family is from Syria and Jordan. My grandma moved to California about 2 years after having my dad. We were so close, and I loved everything single thing she cooked, nothing compares to my Tata's food. She was the most caring compassionate person I have ever met and did everything she could to care for and feed every person she met even though she had so little and worked as a seamstress raising 2 boys alone when her husband died from a botched brain surgery. Anyways, she has been gone 2 years now, but it warms my heart and is so comforting to hear Arabic spoken again and see people that remind me of all her friends. All your middle eastern videos are so comforting, and by far my favorite. Thank you Drew!

For those saying Afghanistan isn’t part of the Middle East, there isn’t an actual boarder of the Middle East. Most of the middle eastern maps include Afg cuz it culture is more similar to Middle East than the Asian countries. Also Afg is pretty much in the centre of South Asia, East Asia, and Middle East so it can be considered either or. Afg used to be considered Persia which was also one of the prominent countries of the Middle East back in the day.

the term “middle eastern” is actually a very harmful and disgusting word. I highly recommend u use “SWANA” it’s been praised a lot right now. The Middle East isn’t an accurate term. The term Middle Eastern can be used to describe central asians, west Asians, North Africans and South Asians. Afghanistan is a multiethnic country that has Persians (also known as tajiks), Pashtuns, Balochis, Turkmens etc... till this day Afghanistan’s accurate geographical location remains unknown. Any Afghan can identify as either West, Central or South Asian... all of them are accurate to the description.

Afghanistan isn't in middle East. Afghanistan is in central Asia. In german language we have 6 zones (locations name) for Asia. 1. Nahosten: near east: Saudi-Arabian, Iraq Palestine, UAE, Syria, Iran and ect... 2. Mittlere-Osten: (central asia) middle east: Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan and ect. 3. Fern-Osten: far east: China, Japan and Mongolia and ect... 4. Sued-Asien: south asia: Pakistan, Indien, bangladesh, Sri-Lanka and ect. 5. Suedost-Asien: southeast asia: Indonesian, Korean, Thailand and ect. 6. Nord-Asien: north asia: Russia
