For part of it at least, but my shoulders were hurting in sympathy because I've overdone it like he did doing work above my head without a ladder. Never again, I bought an adjustable height mini-scaffold that can be up to 2.5 ft off the ground. Word of advice to any of you fellas doing some DIY projects like painting, drywall or any other finish work in your own homes. Never engage in any repetitive motion above shoulder height for extended periods of time. It doesn't matter if you're tall and can reach, get a step ladder or you will regret it. I fucked up my shoulders and it comes and goes randomly, and it just so happens that I was feeling the same pain he was as he was doing the same shit I did years ago. I couldn't lift my arms without feeling pain for at least 2 years after I did a couple of projects getting my house ready to move into. Even after getting better it can happen a lot easier and it's just better to avoid it. Seriously, it's worth whatever I paid for that work platform. I got it at Home Depot a couple years ago, and it goes for $120-160 if you get the one that supports 300 lbs or the big boy model I got that supports 375 lbs. It's made by Gorilla Ladders it's called 4.6 ft x 2.5 ft Aluminum Heavy-Duty PRO Slim-Fold Work Platform, 4 Adjustable Heigths, 375 lbs. Load Capacity. Look it up and get one or get something like it, because it's better than a step-stool for everything. If I'm doing something that requires a step-stool / step-ladder, it's way better. Get the longer poles for paint rollers, whatever you gotta do to avoid the pain. It's cost Drew here some valuable time by his own admission and I know it's prevented me from doing a lot more DIY projects I had planned, but those got postponed, then my cash-flow and desire to do it waned a bit and thankfully KZbin has guys like Drew on here making me feel the desire to get back at it again.

another youtuber I know does a few tiny house builds is laura kampf (she's also in the middle/nearing the end of retrofitting a full sized house - which was a journey she didn't know she was on til it was too late lol) she's done a few trailer-camper ones, a horse box camper, one that's about the size of Drew's (maybe a little smaller). Not saying Drew's isn't great, it really is but multiple sources of inspiration, ideas and builds is always a good thing. (not sponsored, just a fan)

I hope others would agree that we would rather wait longer for great videos like this and the rest of the house so long as you’re taking care of yourself. You only have one body after all so please treat it well! Hopefully you get better soon. This said, I am immensely enjoying this build series. I have been wanting to build a tiny house myself for a long time and seeing what you and others do, how you build them and what your thought processes are is so amazing and insightful to a girl who has barely touched any power tools. You guys make me wanna learn so I can build things myself and make things that suit my personal tastes that I can’t find on the standard market. Welcome back to YT... I sympathize with your shoulder pain. I was grimacing with you even before your mention of the problem and PT resolution. This is an amazing journey. One observation: grounding to a gas line may have seemed expedient but is DANGEROUS. add another grounding clamp to the pipe just outside the tiny house.. when you move to your final destination drive a copper rod into the physical ground and connect it to the exterior grounding strap. Gas and electricity are a deadly combination. Wishing you and your family a blessed week filled with gentle seasonally appropriate weather and restful evenings. Peace Drew

@@DrewBuildsStuff In my country, while planning for which locations the electrical wirings need to pass, they first install some special spiral conduits/pipes which runs through the whole house so that the electrical cables can pass through them. This makes cable assembly and transportation more convenient. Durability: Spiral conduits are typically made from materials resistant to impacts, abrasion, and chemical effects. This feature protects the electrical cables from external factors. Cable Protection: Prioritizing the protection of the electrical cable passing through them from external influences helps prevent damage and breakage and prevent other potential hazards. On each conjunction where cables meet, they also add conjunction caps/boxes on upper part of the walls (close to the ceilings) so that in future, you can just open these conjunction caps and add new or replace existing electrical cables when needed. It also takes away the additional cost of having to break down walls to replace old or faulty wirings because the wires are running freely inside these spirals (you just simply need to disconnect both ends and pull out the old cable and run a new cable via the guiding wire). Spiral conduits with electrical cables passing through them are modern solutions designed to meet the need for safely and orderly transporting electrical cables. Always a good day when we get to see you handle your wood. Also appreciate the insight on how to appropriately handle some caulk.

Every time I asked the video if you did something, right after you answer my question. Just incredibly thorough while being concise. Great work Drew, from a fellow Canadian.

Boy, you really are a workaholic and incredibly creative. How is it that you know how to do all this stuff at such a young age? I love that you used a lot of wood and the oil is definitely a richer look. I was wondering, did you ever think of making a few window sills for a cat to sit on? A cat needs a window sill. Your tiny home is very beautiful and so well constructed. I can hardly wait for the next video.

afaik he has a dog but no cats - he has a previous video where he built his dog an outdoor, heated, dog house for over the winter because he/she likes to be outside.

@@MaxRide1 Thanks, I saw the heated doghouse video. In a tiny house it's probably better to have a small pet like a cat. Cats love to sit or lay in front of windows especially if they are indoor cats so that's why I was hoping that Drew would include at least two window sills for the cat to sit on or lay down on. I don't have a cat but I bet whoever buys this tiny house will already have a cat or want to get a cat. Whoever buys it will probably be a single person or a young couple without any kids so in the meantime they will probably want a pet, a small pet, probably a cat. I'm just guessing.

Your tiny house doesn't look so tiny. The high ceiling makes it appear more airy and open. The oil used on the ceiling really brings out the detail in the wood. It's beautiful. Your craftsmanship is off the chain. Your place is going to look exquisite when it's completed.

My favorite part was when he whipped out his huge white caulk.

Absolutely love this build. Have been waiting see what beautiful ideas you had in store. (Would have used cedar trim around the windows personally). Your precision and attention to details are exceptional. Can’t wait for the next step… prayers over your shoulder and therapy. Have had pinched nerves in shoulders from years of softball, not fun.

I am a DIY dude myself and when you cursed with pain i felt that. My bones are rotten as well. My mom always says when i curse when i build everything is ok. But if it is quiet there is a problem. My wife has not checked that yet but we are getting there. Still nice work. Love it.

I'm just after finding this video’s selection and I'm in awe of your craftmanship. Due to a serious RTA of less than three miles from home. I broke my clavicle and i know when it starts playing up i use a combination of heat and cold packs and physiotherapy, so I really do feel your pain. I can't wait to see the next section. Wishing you all the best from Ireland 🇮🇪

Drew it doesn’t matter how long it takes you to do it… it’s just worth the wait!! Hope you’re doing better with your shoulder. Trying to remember points you asked for opinion… love the oil finish.. It’s truly all in the detail. If you want the upgrade feel it simply needs a little bit more effort. It certainly pays off in the end. You do amazing things and every time it is done beautifully. No matter how long till the next project I will wait. Take care.. oh and long video.. what the heck just more awesomeness to watch and I can take a break too…😂. Take care.
